I originally inquired about carpet on December 5th. I was contacted by Mike quickly and explained to him that I knew exactly what kind I wanted-- he came out the following Monday to measure for the carpet. He told me he needed to charge my card for the deposit later that day, he then proceeded to charge the entire amount, nearly $3,000. Mike also told me the guys laying the floor would haul off my old floors that had been removed to install the carpet for an additional $150. I had carpet installed on December 17th, two men showed up to do the install-- as they were finishing up one of them left before the other (the one in the pick up truck) and I mention to the man remaining that they were supposed to haul off my old flooring. He said he had no knowledge of that and that he would contact Mike. He also tried to collect payment from me-- I informed him I had already paid. I called Mike to tell him they didn't plan on hauling off my old flooring, he said he forgot to mention it to them, informed me he would be charging my card on file for the remainder of the install and that he would have someone come by tomorrow to haul off the floor. I informed him I had already paid in full-- he said he forgot I had paid in full. He then calls back a few minutes later and tells me they don't haul away old floor... at this point I am tired of getting the run around and gave up on getting my old floors hauled off. (Four bedrooms with of old vinyl plank floors) After they left, as my husband and I were moving all our furniture back into place we noticed multiple pieces of our furniture had been damaged. I bypassed Mike and called Carpet spectrum... talked to someone who was going to send out someone else to "assess the damages". They came out the following Friday to assess the damages, took pictures, and let me know that they get back with me. I called SIX times between then and today, March 9th looking for an update on compensation for my broken furniture. I finally spoke with someone today who informed me they tried to call me last week (they didn't, and if they did they didn't leave a voicemail) and said they could offer me a free carpet cleaning, and $40 cash because my furniture was pressboard and it's hard to fix pressboard. Two pieces of the furniture are currently available at IKEA totaling $530 before tax, and the third piece of furniture is an antique dresser that cannot be replace. All this to say, if you're looking to use them to install your flooring, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM--be mindful that they may break your furniture and not be willing to fix it or compensate you. Their customer service is absolutely awful. Carpet Spectrum-- if you don't want to compensate people for breaking their stuff, have the guys doing the install move the furniture together, instead of one of them just pushing it across concrete. It doesn't matter how "cheap" my furniture is to you, it isn't cheap to me and it works for what I need it to and I don't appreciate it being broken and not being offered anything more then a "free carpet cleaning and $40 cash". Disclaimer: I did not purchase any carpet or services. The estimate experience alone ensured that I did not want to do business with them. The rental I'm in has very old Berber carpet in the den, where my dogs sleep. I like to be able to shampoo the carpet regularly and that is impossible with the age and condition of this carpet. I wanted to have it replaced with an economical alternative as this is a rental. Steve arrived at the agreed-upon time to do the estimate. He seemed reluctant to shake my hand, that's fine, but I could tell he was not comfortable and that was offputting. He measured the room as I explained what I used it for and that I wanted a written estimate to share with my landlord. When he was done measuring, he began writing dimensions, etc. on a piece of paper. I assumed that was my estimate but clearly that was for his own purposes because he wouldn't even allow me to look at it. I don't just mean he didn't show it to me, I mean when I stood next to him and looked down at it, he hid it under other papers while he wrote an 11 word estimate in the middle of another paper and set it on the table, instead of handing it to me directly. See photos for details. During this entire time, he never made eye contact. The palpable tension was extremely uncomfortable and I couldn't wait for him to get out of my house. I can't speak to their skills but I can say the next estimate was over $100 cheaper and the guy who came to do it was friendly and helpful instead of rude and creepy. Avoid Steve!!! read more

Dont use these people. The don't know what they are doing. General contractor referred us to them. We chose carpet tile for our office. They used the wrong glue system to glue down the carpet tiles and now my carpet tiles won't stick. We tried several times to get a resolution from them and they were unable to fix it every time. I have had to independent carpet contractors come out to look at the carpet and was told by both people that the wrong glue system was used. They said the only way to actually fix it is to remove all carpet and relay it. This was a $30,000 job. We had paid them 20,000. We have now been harassed by their attorney for the other 10,000. On carpet that will not stick to the floor. You had one job carpet spectrum. And you did not deliver. read more

They were called to my apartment to fix my water damaged carpet along with removing the flooded floor padding, they removed most but not all of the effected padding, left the black mold exposed to me and my cat, and just tossed the torn up carpet back and all they said when they left was " we will be back Monday" read more

He has always been professional as has everyone i had interaction with at all levels of the company. I continue to give them my business in my own rental properties. I've tried others a few times, however the competition doesn't compete when it comes to quality. (901) 331-9522 You have to understand when it comes to those living in Apartments, contractors can only do what they are getting paid to and told to do. They always are very professional and tell the Management if more needs done than called for, and it is up to the Management to Authorize the work or not. I worked for over 15 years doing Apartment Maintenance in Memphis. Some of the places where I worked would tell them do what ever it takes to make it right. Other Management Companies that are paid based on budget constraints including Bonuses for keeping maintenance expenditures low won't authorize the proper work. read more

I recently used carpet spectrum to put carpet throughout my newly purchased house. The quality and customer service were good, however, the installation was awful. The installers took no regard to my home as they drug the carpet across my walls and doors coming in and out of the house. Between my bedroom and hall, a 1 inch gap was left and had to be filled using a strip of carpet that is easily noticeable when entering the room. And finally, when the installers where finished, they didn't even bother to vacuum up all the carpet clippings and trash left behind. I was extremely disappointed due to the fact I had just spent a couple thousand dollars. read more

We had to be out of our home in January 2018 due to busted pipe. In April we ordered the flooring that we wanted. In May they were to install the floor and a week prior to the insurance company demanding we get back into our home the guy from carpet spectrum advised us that the truck got lost (LOL) and we had to pick another flooring. We were under the gun and had to pick another one out in which we were told that had a 25 year warranty which we cannot even get any information on that as the receipt from them does not give any of that. We were also advised that it was a scratchless floor and you can move the slightest thing and it scratches. Also the floor is coming apart in several locations, the threshold has busted under their tape which has been on there, and the installers did not even go up to our wall and we can't put our shoemold down. We have been trying to get them to take care of all of this since May, 2018 and cannot get any response or an excuse. Their excuse is that their warranty is only for 1 year in which they delay you in order to get past this warranty and then use the excuse that their warranty is out.
