He kept me updated on when he would arrive (since he squeezed me in last minute) and charged me a very reasonable price. My carpet smells nice and clean, I can't really tell visually since it's a very dark carpet, but I'm already breathing a lot easier. He was very nice and personable and I'm glad I went to someone local who cares so much about customer service! Cost was $bit (20?) more than last year, seems inevitable since the dog was trying o turn the carpet into a twister game. We used 2 different companies before, and as they did good jobs, they never were able to completely get the highly trafficked areas clean. Steve with Deep Steam Carpet was our third attempt and he DID get the carpets completely clean and white again. He even cleaned the corners between the carpet and the wall where it was black. I thought those corners were a lost cause from years of not being vacuumed, but Steve cleaned those and got the corners clean and white also! He did a lot of extras we hadn't even asked for. And he is very friendly and courteous and respectful. You would expect to have to pay a big premium for such good service, but the price was fabulous! Deep Steam Carpet Cleaning has very powerful steam-cleaning equipment that can really get at the dirt and extract it. Then it was scheduled for Tuesday 10/22. Nobody showed up Tuesday and when I called they said it was actually scheduled for Wednesday and I must have written it down wrong. Wednesday 10/23 they showed up and cleaned the couch and I venmo'd payment only to get home from work and find dirty water stains on my cream colored couch where they hadn't pulled out all the water correctly. So I texted the number I'd sent the payment through, and got nothing back. I called the next day and was told they'd fit me in that next Tuesday 10/29. Nobody showed up by 4pm so I called again, and was told that if nobody showed up by 5 that Jason, the owner, would personally come clean it on Thursday 10/31. On the 31st I called in the morning to get an ETA on when someone would be there and was told he'd call his guys (again, he had said he would personally come clean it) and get back to me. I have not heard from him since. Suddenly my calls are dropping and then the cherry on top was the 1am call I got (and didn't answer for obvious reasons) and then got my call declined again when I called back at a reasonable hour. Long review to say: Do not hire these folks, they will jerk you around and then do a terrible job. Worst part is they obviously don't stand by their work.

Living room was dry, but the carpet on the stairs was still pretty wet about 12 hours later, but our movers weren't coming until the next day so no problem. I'm at work the next day and my wife's family called to tell me that the stairs are still sopping (24 hours later). I called to see if there was anything that could be done about it, as my movers and wife's family are now over there and are kind of stuck. He explained to me how the cleaning process worked and everything, which was great, and explained that usually it took 2-3 hours to dry. He recommended I "get some fans and open the windows," and although he said "I get it's an inconvenience," also did not offer any kind of apology. He asked bluntly "what are you looking for?" Refused any kind of discount, did not offer to bring over fans/blowers (I don't own any of either myself), and was generally unapologetic and told me "I don't have time to argue about this on the phone I have other customers and clients." Nothing wrong with the cleaning itself obviously, (I think, I haven't been able to see the upstairs) and the carpet looked as good as could be expected given the state of it at the start, but I was pretty disappointed by the lack of sympathy or willingness to help after paying hundreds of dollars for a service. *UPDATE* Jason made things right which was hugely appreciated. Very knowledgeable and experienced and would highly recommend.
