I said I was only interested in Auto insurance. He said "then we're probably not a good fit for you" and that was it, silence, no explanation. I was completely shocked and speechless for a few secs. I then proceeded to end the call. A true "never again" example if I ever saw one. Horrible business model and a very unfriendly approach to potential new customers.

For a few years since, our insurance rates rose aggressively. I've asked for new quotes but I get a lot of "others are coming back higher" or "we're still waiting on another quote" and this year I got ignored completely while my phone calls never got returned. However my cancellation email was responded to in a timely manner. I went to another broker: over 40% off this year's renewal rate (felt so cheap we even added 10% coverage but we were under covered before). The only explanation I can come up with is they aren't into brokering condo insurance (anymore?) and they didn't care whether I stayed with them or paid an obscene rate.

Yes, I called immediately and solved it but I guess they couldn't be bothered to contact me OR return my email. So much for loyalty . Looks like all these reviews are old...so here is one for 2026..when we need loyalty more than ever. I asked for an explanation and /or an apology...did I get one? NO! I was a loyal…read morecustomer for approximately 20 years, never filed a claim, always paid full payment at the beginning of each renewal cycle. Unfortunately a mistake was made by their office and it resulted in my losing a $500 discount, I called the office and tried to resolve the issue but was constantly told we are working on it. I realized the employees of the agency had no interest in helping instead were probably hoping I would get tired of calling and forget about the money. It was then as a business owner myself that I realized I should just speak directly with Joe Schneider, the agency owner and hopefully reach some sort of settlement. I spent the next 2 months writing and or calling the agency. Each time only requesting to speak with Mr. Schneider. I was told he wasn't in the office, and he would get back to me. He even sent several emails saying he realized his office made a mistake and he would call within the week. Each time he didn't call. After almost 3 months he finally called and apologized for the delay and acknowledging he could have done better. Unfortunately they were never able to compensate for the lost discount. I understand the process and I can understand the inability to reach a resolution but I cannot understand why an owner of a business would not at least call a loyal and respectful customer. Especially one who was frustrated by not, at least, being able to talk with the boss (owner) about this. I can accept the loss of the discount but I cannot accept the fact that the owner Joe Schneider wouldn't at least talk to me. Imagine if I had a real problem. I expect a certain minimum amount of customer service and I was very sorry to see that after being a good customer for 20 years. There are a lot of Allstate agencies I will transfer my account to another one. Hopefully they will appreciate their commission and provide at least a minimum of customer service. I would not recommend Joe Schneider agency at all. They are only to happy to write a policy but not willing to at least to pretend they care about the customer. Or provide a minimum of customer service such as returning phone calls in a timely manner.

I was fortunate to be connected to Doris Ortega, who was very pleasant to deal with. More importantly, she was very knowledgeable about insurance, and she quickly determined what my insurance needs were. I wound up saving about $2,000/yr for coverage similar to what I had with my prior carrier. Now, having said all that, the real test of Lakeview's worthiness will come if I ever have to make a claim. It's one thing to be a 5-star agency when it comes to the purchase of insurance, and it's quite another thing for an insurance agency to be there on your side if you ever have to make a claim. I hope I never have to make a home or auto claim, but if and when I do, I'll report further. For now, I'm quite happy with my experience with Lakeview to date.

When I was shopping for market place insurance I found many agents from big name companies have fudged the truth and in some cases flat out lied. The one thing I love about Maggie she is very knowledgeable and looks after your interest not hers. Other agents I was turned off to the fact they were high pressure and didn't seem too interested in spending too much time. I know most agents don't make a lot of commission selling health care and explains why most are quick to close the sake and move on, Maggie was more interested in making sure I felt comfortable with the policy.
