Well anyway, I went in for my appointment, the doctor came, never met him before, doesn't bother to introduce himself, just starts the exam. This true with the staff as well. My wife goes to them today, her appointment is at 1:10, it's 2:30 and she has yet to see a doctor. She has to leave to return to work. We won't be coming back. read more

I had cataract remove on Left eye August 22 The next day I was pain free and it was a very sunny day instead of all cloudy days I was plagued with because of the cataract Dr Seltzer is the world best. I can't say enough good about Dr. Vivek Vasuki! He has been my wife's and my ophthalmologist for the last few years. Since I have had two severe episodes with my eyes in the past I searched for one in our area. He has been wonderful. I trust him explicitly. We both have had eye surgeries that went extremely well. He has been a skilled physician and personable enough to talk to you and answer any questions you may have. I would heartily recommend him to you! read more

Located next door to Dollar General on N Cashua Dr. Large building w covered drop-off area front entrance. The lobby immediately upon entering has about 3 persons helping patients. There are I Pad H&P forms followed by 10 min wait to be called back to the 2nd larger waiting area. From this wait area about 15-20 wait (for my experience). Once get called to see technician/doctor is your typical times you'd experience any doctor office. Customer service friendliness is pretty good; my total time for LASIK consult was about 2 hrs. This is a high volume center for persons mostly older clientele so this wait time would probably be about the average. There is a small frame selection opposite first wait lobby. Don't know what to say other than I feel like I was scammed. Had appt with Seltzer yesterday to see about cataract surgery which Dr in Dillon office said I needed. I have been to Dillon office twice. Last year I was led to believe I had MD and when I went this year he just said cataracts have to come out so didn't prescribe glasses. They made appt for florence office. When I had been put through the wringer and had seen seltzer I was led to money office. Girl tells me she has print out of what I need to pay when I come for first surgery and since they don't accept my insurance on surgery the bill for one eye was a few dollars short of $3000.00 , I said that''s a no. She said well Stokes takes your insurance. They just wanted to see if I'd had them cash money instead of doing the decent thing and tell me up front they don't take my insurance on surgery. I told her that's crazy. They dang sure take it in dillon for exams. But there's not a choice in Dillon for eye exam so they cornered the market on that. I had already said I wasn't going to Dillon anymore for exams because of when I asked about the MD he said oh you don't have that. WTH. I'm done. read more

It's ridiculous how slow and unprepared they are. The price w/o insurance for what they do is unacceptable as well. I've started going to Stokes. They are honest and tell you what you need and the best way to go about getting the cheapest medicine and eyewear. read more

I went to this location after having a very bad experience with Stokes Regional Eye Center, also located in Florence. From the moment I walked in the door, I knew this place was going to be much better. I was helped immediately and since it was my first visit with a surgical consultation, I had to fill out the expected forms. While I was doing that, there were processing all of my insurance information and verifying benefits. They did this in a very efficient manner. A few minutes later, I was moved to another waiting area which was almost full. Despite the large number of people, they were moving people into exam rooms and staging areas at a very impressive pace. Every person I dealt with was very kind, professional and seemed to be genuinely concerned for my well-being. As a random universe sort of occurrence, while I was waiting to see Dr. Vasuki, the fire alarms sounded and we all had to evacuate the building. It was 99 degrees outside and there was a crowd of patients waiting to see what would happen and when they could be seen. At that point, the staff started doing what I consider to be above and beyond customer service. Office staff, technicians, even doctors and the surgical team started bringing out chairs and water for the patients. I saw doctors talking with patients and doing everything they could to assist in this circumstance which was beyond their control. I opted to come back later because of another appointment and I left my name with one of the staff members. Within less than 2 hours, they called me back and booked me with an appointment the next morning. I have never been more impressed with a medical practice. read more

I had a consult with Dr. Vasuki in December for evaluation of cataracts. Because of my young age of 25, other physicians I had seen for this issue treated me as if I knew nothing and everything was fine. One ophthalmologist (here in town) actually told me "your eyes are healthy" and walked out of the room. I had reached the point where I could not see to drive at night and my terrible vision was also affecting me at work, where I depend on my vision immensely. Dr. Vasuki told me during the initial consult that I had cataracts in both eyes and recommended cataract extraction with intraocular lens implants. Now that the procedures have been done, I am seeing better than I have in years.. and I am still in the healing phase! Dr. Vasuki has wonderful bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable about the procedures. He is incredible!! The nurses in pre and post op were also wonderful. Very sweet and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this center!! read more

This place is the worst! If I could give them negative stars, I would!!! Do yourself a favor/save yourself from added stress and anger, save your time and money, and don't go. They schedule 50 people for the same appointment time and literally take all day seeing patients (so bring breakfast and lunch if you have an appointment). Some of the time, the doctor is not even there during your scheduled appointment, and the staff will lie and say they are in "surgery" to appease you and your many hours wait time. Once you sign in, they buzz you back to the main waiting room where you will see about 75 waiting patients. The aides will appease you sometimes and call you back to a room to give you silly vision tests. If you are not inquisitive (and careful), they will do some unnecessary test on you just to be able to add an additional item to your bill. This practice also had incompetent, inexperienced, ill mannered, doctors and staff. They also have management issues. I saw a doctor who was supposed to do a ($600) surgical procedure on my eyes, I do not know what he did, but the issue was not resolve. He had to redo the procedure! They bill you outrageous prices and have the audacity to charge you at least $25 if you need the ophthalmologist to write a note regarding your diagnosis! If you call will a medical question, be prepared to leave a message with a staff member, and not receive a call back. This place is HORRIBLE, I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend this place to my enemy. read more
