This is a brand-new build, which makes the condition they have left our home in especially upsetting. The damage his team caused to our walls, doors, stairs, baseboards, and other areas has made what should be a brand-new home look like an old house in disrepair.
Jerrmont consistently pushed back deadlines and, on multiple occasions, failed to show up as promised. We paid him in advance after he told us he did not have the money to purchase materials or make his house payment. He was friendly and personable, and we had received his name through a referral, so we trusted him and moved forward.
That trust was misplaced.
Jerrmont took my Lowe's credit card to purchase materials and subsequently charged more than $2,000 to the card. He then disappeared with the card. This occurred in June 2026, and we still have not received the card or the receipts for those purchases.
The work itself remains substantially unfinished. Our stairs and floors are incomplete and have become a safety hazard. Our young daughter caught her foot on an unfinished edge, fell, and cut her knee. The painting is also unfinished and, in many areas, poorly executed. There is paint on doorframes and light switches, paint bleeding into rooms that were not supposed to be painted, and visible streaking and runs. Paint does not properly meet ceilings or corners. Our walls and ceiling were damaged during the work and were never repaired.
We have also had problems involving the workers beyond the unfinished work. Neighbors complained to us about workers sleeping on our porch and paint being dumped in their yard. Paint was also dumped on our back porch, staining our patio.
We are out a substantial amount of money and have spent an enormous amount of time trying to get this situation resolved, without success. I have documentation showing Jerrmont's acknowledgment of these issues, yet there has still been no resolution.
I now see that Jerrmont is advertising his services in the Atlanta area. Given our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering hiring Spectrum Painting to do their due diligence and be very cautious. In our case, the promises, deadlines, workmanship, handling of our property, and communication did not come close to what we were led to expect.
We hired a professional painting company for our brand-new home. Instead, we were left with unfinished work, significant damage, a safety hazard, substantial financial losses, and a home that looks like it has been neglected for years due to damage to ceilings, walls, baseboards, stairs, etc.
We also paid extra to have our bookshelves moved and see that they just painted around them.
This has been an incredibly frustrating and costly experience, and we would not hire Spectrum Painting and Decks again.
