I have been looking for a stylist who could get the color & cut I've wanted for 20 years, even Ulta but could never find anyone UNTIL Carol! She's a magician! The atmosphere was relaxed & like the old days! read more

Ok, it is the next day and I just styled my hair. I have to say, the haircut that I received from…read moreAndrea is the best hair cut I have ever gotten in mount sterling. The way my hair is laying is exactly perfect!! I was skeptical that a hair cut at a Walmart salon would be worth as much as going to a salon in Lexington (see my first impression below), but this is perfect and I will be back!! Live and learn! Next time, I won't choose to skip the actual shampoo, I'll purchase the shampoo cut and style. I wish they would just price it at $34.95 because I do think it is deceptive to advertise a $24.95 haircut and then add an extra fee without knowing until you are at the register at the end. But now I know. This haircut is totally worth $35! And just for full disclosure, I'm probably one of the most picky customers when it comes to salons. I have tried nearly every stylist (not just salons, but all the people that work in them) in town and didn't really like any others. (Except for one that does not cut hair anymore). I'm aware I'm not easy to please in this department. I'm looking forward to more haircuts from this stylist!! I got my first hair cut from this salon today. I usually go to Lexington at planet salon, but since Covid I haven't been going to Lexington as much. It has been difficult to arrange an appointment since I never know when I will be in Lexington right now. It was ok. Though I was a bit shocked at the prices. I was told a hair cut, wash, and style was $24.95 but when I checked it out was $35 and I noticed I had an extra $10 fee for to my hair (barely) bring past my shoulders. I also opted not to get an actual shampoo since I had just gotten out of the shower, but I was still charged for a shampoo, cut, and style. This is the same price as a low level stylist at planet salon. If the prices were cheaper than planet salon I could easily see myself stopping in here for a quick trim, but with no price savings over a higher end salon I doubt I'll be back. You wouldn't expect to pay the same for a haircut at Walmart as you would at a fancier salon.

This visit he called me a half hour before my appointment to tell me that he was not going to be at the shop until noon. I had made my appointment four weeks earlier. He said someone else would do my nails. I got there at 9:15 and no one showed up until 930 .Kim was going to do my nails and I mentioned to her that John said he would not be in until noon. she said no he was on his way in now. John came in 5 minutes later and a lady Followed him in, and he sat down and began to do her nails. The problem was is that I felt he had not shared the truth with me and did not want to do my nails and pretty much kicked me to the curb. I just don't think it was good Customer Service or was it kind to not share the truth. He obviously either overbooked, or truthfully, did not care to do my nails. Which ever way, it is not a business that I would support.Kim did do a pretty good job, but I had not made my appointment with Kim. Mike,…read morethe shop owner, decided this would be a great piece for the apprentice and assured me that he wouldn't allow the apprentice to tattoo unless he had the utmost faith in him. I agreed, because I'm heavily tattooed and I think apprentices should get their chance to work on real customers. I regret allowing that to happen. We had to move the stencil six times. When he got to work, he couldn't follow the stencil. Eventually, we had to bring another artist in to try and fix his mistakes. It didn't look great. The healing process was terrible. I've never had such trouble with a tattoo. Most of the ink fell out and it doesn't even resemble an ampersand. It actually looks like I've got a prison tattoo on my HAND. Or something some teenager did with one of those beginner tattoo kits. Then the apprentice charged me $40 when Mike had previously quoted me $20. I felt bad for him too, because he tried so hard, so I gave him another $20. But this is not acceptable work. I would love to have my money back, especially now that my hand is permanently marred because of a serious lack of judgment on Mike's part. I wanted to write Mike directly before I left a public review, but the shop has no website or contact info so far as I can see. Anyway, if I were you, I would stay away from this shop or, at the very least, I wouldn't let the apprentice tattoo me.
