Amazing service! I loved our lunch at El Hoyo. The famous Chilean bevvy "Torremoto" (Earthquake)…read morewas reportedly invented here - it's a sweet, boozy drink that goes down way too easily!
We were treated with some live music, which was lovely and unexpected for a weekday lunch rush. It's a huge, sprawling establishment, decorated from head to toe in all sorts of interesting photos, gizmos, old newspapers, etc. Everytime you look around, you see something new. Food is delicious and affordable, including lots of Chilean classics like their signature fork-and-knife sandos and the dense and filling Pastel del Choclo.
My only complaint was the noise level - it was pretty loud once the music started. I found it to be challenging to have a conversation at times, which was tricky because we were meeting up with some family for the first time on the trip here, and we wanted to gab. However, the food, value, and service all exceeded expectations.
