Public Consumer Warning Review Business: Carnales Mufflers & Brakes Rating: I'm sharing my experience so other consumers can make an informed decision. I was originally told I would be receiving MagnaFlow catalytic converters. No written documentation, part numbers, CARB EO numbers, or brand information were provided at the time of installation. Six days later, my truck began running extremely rough with severe jerking and multiple check engine codes (P0420 and P0430). When I returned to the shop, I was told the catalytic converters were not MagnaFlow, but Cart Tech, which was never disclosed beforehand. Instead of honoring a warranty or taking responsibility for their work, the shop blamed my truck with vague explanations and then demanded an additional $350 "service fee" to remove and replace the catalytic converters -- a fee that was never disclosed or documented in any invoice or estimate. One employee (Junior) even suggested cutting out the catalytic converters and handing them to me without installing them, leaving me to "figure out how to drive the truck" without them welded in. This was alarming and unsafe. I also spoke with Deny Ramirez, who identified himself as a part owner, and he stated there was no other option unless I paid more money. He advised me to "take it to the state or court" and said they believed they had done nothing wrong. To this day: No refund was issued No warranty was honored No CARB documentation or part numbers were provided My original catalytic converter core was not returned This experience felt extremely misleading and unprofessional. I am now pursuing this matter through the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. I strongly recommend anyone considering catalytic converter work here to get everything in writing, including brand, CARB EO numbers, warranties, and total cost, before authorizing any work. read more
