Specialties
With 30 years of experience designing K-12 education spaces, we consider ourselves experts in this specialized area of architecture. We work closely with many school districts in Michigan and Indiana to provide innovative, functional spaces that are flexible enough to adapt to changing curriculum, technology, and teaching approaches. CARMI takes on a diverse range of non-education projects every year, too, ranging from veterinary clinics and manufacturing plants to churches, fire stations, and apartment building renovations. We tackle every project, large or small, the same way; first, we listen carefully, then we explore and collaborate with our clients to provide the very best outcome possible. CARMI Design Group has also worked on dozens of residential projects over their 30 years in business. They can help fulfill the dream and vision for your home – from the initial design, to the construction drawings, to helping estimate the cost and hiring the contractor.

Meet the Business Owner: Tony L.
Since starting CARMI Design Group in 1990, I have focused on client relations, fostering the development of one’s vision through careful listening, and discernment. I believe there is a profound benefit from owners doing business with owners and promise to remain integrally involved as a creative force for each project from sketch to brick and mortar. I hold a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) and am a member in good standing of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Registration Boards (NCARB). I am also a fully certified and registered architect in both Michigan and Indiana.
