During this time, I have tried meditation, yoga, swimming, etc. None of them got me very excited. I found Uplift Yourself through a meet-up website and decided to give it a try. I learned that they are a non-profit organization, so anyone is welcome to join their class, regardless of the tuition. Also, I was fortunate to spend some time alone with one of the Qigong teachers, Kathy Fogarty. The individualized attention I received from her was truly a blessing. I also noticed that I have had less stress and tension in my body whenever I am in this place. I think I finally found something that I will enjoy doing and gives great benefit to myself mentally and physically.

She is a consummate professional, incredibly empathetic and intuitive, and provides a guiding light when I need it most. Finding a therapist that works for you is much like dating - one person's perfect match may not suit your needs, which is understandable considering the intimacy of the work. I would never try to diminish someone else's experience; instead I'm offering up my testimony to the quality of her work. When I need someone to listen, Lydia is there. When I need resources to find better habits for myself, Lydia has an email full of links. When I'm so far down a deep dark hole that nothing makes sense anymore, Lydia will clearly and compassionately give me a reality check. What I love the most about the services she provides is that she helps me to find my own answers - she isn't going to spend half our session telling me what's wrong with me, and how she wants me to fix it. She asks insightful, probing questions, points out when I am contradicting myself, and with insight and great care she leads me to make my own revelations about myself and what I need. When it is appropriate, she offers her own perspective, but the focus is always on supporting me rather than leading me, making me self-sufficient and better able to care for myself. Lydia is a gd blessing and I recommend her to anyone looking for self-empowering therapy. The goodness she has brought into my life is immeasurable.

There are plenty of great therapists out there. Dani provided no actual guidance or help. See anyone else, don't destroy your child's trust on Dani. My daughter was going through a tremendously difficult issue and we thought Dani would be able to help. Dani provided almost no help, she was completely incapable of her role. Dani agreed to decisions we made on several occasions, then contacted the state, thinking her newly graduated self to be higher than thou. She forgot she e-mailed us each time with confirmation of our requests, and her agreement to the directions we chose to take. She directly lied to the state, putting our family in a VERY critical position. She can't be legally held against that either, even when lying through her teeth. The state laughed at her and closed the case, apologizing for Dani's unacceptable handling of things. Stay far away from Dani.

Two women were talking about a hypnotherapist that they loved, I overheard, asked them who it was and the rest is history. I started seeing Erika because I had been in a car accident in Seattle and was so anxious about driving in the rain, it was debilitating. My regular talk therapy at the time was not enough. Our sessions were in person and hypnotherapy and reiki in person at the beginning. I was able to work through my fears of driving in the rain in these sessions. My sessions with Erika have morphed into phone sessions of energy healing and life coach more than anything else. I love my sessions and feel like the concrete changes I have made in my life are noticeable to me and my family. I love getting homework and look forward to working on the changes I need to make. I have come a long way in 5 years and am excited to continue working with Erika. A lot of people think it is woowoo to work with an energy healer but I love it. I started seeing her because of an accident. She has helped me work through a death, surgery recovery, friend divorce, relationship issues, etc. Our phone sessions always leave me feeling so good and ready to get things done.

All of our sessions have been remote and I find this to be a huge benefit. Being in the comfort of my own home allows me to relax and lean into the work in a way that I don't think would be possible if I were in an office or any less familiar environment. I also like the fact that I'm already home at the end of each session - normally I like to grab a drink of water and relax for a bit after each session so it's great to be able to do that. I highly recommend this option! Erika has helped me feel more grounded in my body, more confident, and far less stressed and anxious than I've ever felt. I have tried many different types of therapy over the years and I think working with Erika has allowed me to do some deep healing on a soul level that I just wasn't able to reach before. I am so grateful for her patience, reassurance, and calm guidance throughout our work together. I look forward to working with her further!

Marlon has helped make my husband a better spouse and me a better wife. For years my husband and I…read morestruggled to communicate, get along, and care for each other (and our marriage). We have been married for 9 years and it has been a challenge sometimes to even be in the same room together. Throughout our marriage my husband and I have been to several therapists. During our first meeting with the first of many therapists, Judy Ford, she insisted that I climb onto my husband's lap and sit there for awhile. So awkward and not even close to what we needed to learn to communicate. Her advice to my husband was "If she doesn't need to know, don't tell her." That damaged our marriage for quite some time. She is a cross-section of the poor quality of therapy we have encountered through the years. During our first (and last) meeting with a male therapist, he asked my husband "Do you keep it in your pants?" My husband said "Yes" and then the therapist looked at me as if to ask "What's the issue then??" After that I refused to see a male therapist again (until we found Marlon). For years my husband and I desperately needed help but we did not see a therapist again because we had so many bad experiences with therapists in the past. Then I saw Marlon Familton speak at an evening event for the toddler/parent education group I was part of. He seemed so genuine, educated, confident, and passionate about his work. I took a chance and scheduled a couples counseling appointment with him. At that point in our marriage, my husband and I would sometimes go two or more weeks without speaking to each other despite living under the same roof. It was an awful way to live. Marlon was so warm and welcoming during our first meeting with him. He knew how to help us each feel safe and comfortable discussing some very private, difficult, and sometimes embarrassing things. He did not judge us. He did not take sides. He did not tell us we were wrong for feeling the way we did. With absolute expertise and professionalism, he guided us to discover things about ourselves, each other, and our relationship that we didn't realize were contributing to a never ending cycle of fighting and dysfunction between us. He got us talking...to each other. We had quite a bit of old baggage we needed to work through in order to get to a place where we could move forward. Marlon offered us a clear path to help resolve conflict. During our counseling sessions, I have often felt that Marlon was reading a transcript in my head when he has tried to help my husband understand how I was feeling about something. He is attentive, present, empathetic, and so compassionate. I feel that he truly cares about our well-being. He is very down-to-earth and talks with you clearly, offering practical strategies to draw on when working through conflict. Marlon has been so accommodating with our tough schedule. Having three young children at home, the only time we could ever get out of the house together was after they were in bed, which is after 8pm. Marlon would meet with us late at night for long sessions to maximize our time together and help us really dig into the important stuff. After our sessions he would sometimes email us to continue the conversation and make sure that things were going well once we left his office. Throughout the years we have revisited Marlon when we felt our communication was getting rusty and were struggling to work out an issue on our own. After sometimes only a session with Marlon, we were back on track and working together again. I love Marlon's online scheduling system. I log onto his website to schedule an appointment myself instead of calling and leaving messages to try to make an appointment. I have such great respect, admiration, and gratitude for Marlon and his work ethic. He is a pleasure to work with and I could not offer him a higher recommendation. Whether you need couples counseling or individual work, Marlon will undoubtedly be able to guide you.

Most people tend to think that an RD is to help you lose weight, but Crave Health helped me in a whole different way. The plan put together for me was with my heavy workout load in mind without being too disruptive. I was injury free for the next 4 months and got my best time in my last half-marathon. Recently, I've been going to lose fat without necessarily losing weight. Ashley got me a modified plan and kept tabs on my progress during our visits. I have lost 2% body fat (from 19 to 17% and on my way to reach 15% goal). I have not experienced the challenges from another reviewer in scheduling appts. I work late and Crave Health has a couple of days where they take appts until late afternoon. Scheduling has been easy over email. Check your insurance and you might find out a few visits are covered in your plan. I do recommend Crave health and I'm still a client.

Highly Unprofessional - Steer Clear!!…read more My experience with Lynn Crowder was nothing short of appalling. She is neglectful and frankly it makes me question her suitability for a job that requires organization and consistent communication. If you're looking for a therapist who will respect your time, this is absolutely not the person. Lynn was always very disorganized and for whatever reason completely ghosted me, despite a seemingly normal client-therapist relationship. All communication stopped cold. Despite my efforts to reach her (phone calls where I left voicemails, text, and email) I received absolutely zero response (even to this day, several months later). I started worrying that perhaps something happened to her (she is old after all). I eventually called her building (we normally communicate directly), and a colleague confirmed that Lynn was fine and they see her daily. I'm glad to hear she was okay, but that's extremely unprofessional to just ignore someone who is trying to reach you for weeks! I would have just appreciated a heads-up if she had something going on in her life (which she has previously informed me of a couple times when she was a no-show to our remote sessions). A therapist should be reliable and communicate clearly, not knowingly leave people in the dark - that's just unacceptable. To anyone considering her as a therapist just save yourself the headache and go with someone else!
