Good but could be a lot better. My personal view is that this place is too focused on making money…read moreand not focused enough on providing a top quality service and customer experience. We booked a table for 5 people and were 25 minutes late sitting downing a Tuesday night. There were loads of people in the bar area waiting to be seated. Monday's and Tuesday's are busy as they run a 3 course for £12.95 deal of any starter, any pasta or pizza and a selection of desserts; which in itself is a very good deal. The food quality was excellent and drinks were fine, my main gripe is with the service. It was slow and with huge gaps between courses. After the starters we had to ask how long the main course would be and after coffees we decided to go to the bar and pay on the way out as no one came for us to ask for the bill. Overall, I would recommend visiting but expect slow service if you go when it's not really quiet.

My starter of fried mozzarella balls looked distinctly of the 'ready meal' type. They arrived what seemed like seconds after ordering and could not be described as hot! Not much taste either but were saved by the sweet chilli sauce served with them. My main course fared little better. A vegetarian pizza which looked lovely but distinctly lacked flavour. Overall very disappointing.

Bury

This is my favourite restaurant in Bury bar none. Lovely family-run Italian restaurant which has…read morebeen going for over 30 years! The staff are extremely attentive and friendly as you would expect at a place like this. My family have been coming to this restaurant since before I was born, my parents literally just followed the aroma of garlic during their first visit to Bury and ended up here (which probably explains why I'm such a garlic fiend!). The restaurant was much smaller back then but has expanded over the years without losing the welcoming family vibe, or the mesmerising array of empty wine bottles hanging from the ceiling. The food is always delicious and very reasonably priced - through the week they have special deals on e.g. 2 courses & a coffee for £12.95 which is excellent value. Or, the early bird special, any pizza, pasta or risotto for £6.90! Not only is the food great, but the welcoming atmosphere will keep you coming back for many a year to come.

The food certainly is of excellent quality. Tucked away a short walk from the Bury Interchange, it's a hidden gem. Shared really nice garlic bread with cheese with my dinner guest for our starter. Farfalle al Salmone was my main, and a simple combination of pasta, onions, smoked salmon and creamy tomato sauce - beautifully done and really filling too. Dessert would normally be a Tiramisu, but my friend and I went for the White Chocolate Profiteroles, served in a sundae dish - really nice ! The bill was another lovely surprise - well two in fact; being hand-written (a real novely these days), and then coming in at around £30 for the two of us. A visit to Bury is recommended for this lovely family run restaurant.

Hmmm Bellini's you promise so so much, yet fall ever so short. You weren't bad by any means, no no…read moreno, however you made some silly mistakes that took you down to a 3. Ok I'll stop talking like Simon Cowell now, but really, come on guys, you have a beautiful restaurant, in a lovely area in Ramsbottom, yet it takes you 45 minutes to prepare a plate of cold meat for my starter? Maybe Manchester's vibrant foodie scene has turned me into a snob or maybe Bellini's had an off day, it happens to us all, but on this particular occasion I was left with a mixed feeling on the place. I was really looking forward to it as I'd heard fantastic things, and as stated, the place looks fantastic! The guys working were friendly enough and seemed genuinely Italian which gives great culture to a place, just on this visit, the service or rather speed of it, let them down massively. The food, Antipasto platter to start and Meat Pizza for mains, actually tasted great and the options of Parmesan and Olive Oil on top finished it perfectly. However waiting 45 minutes for your starters in a half full restaurant isn't great, so for that and that alone, you guys lose a star. Look on the bright side though Bellini, no doubt I'll be back in the future and on a night that I can drink more than 1 glass of red wine, so you could see this jump up soon!

Each times it's been pretty spot on and being fair and true in this area you don't get many better places. It's a little out of the way and so you do have to plan to go here and allow transport there and back, but I'm not a massive drinker anyway so being our DD is normally ok with me - especially when good food is involved. On my latest visit I was taking the old man out for Father's Day and let him pick the restaurant - so thats another glowing reference that he chose Antonellos. I had the Minestrone soup to start which was absolutely lovely and then the Calzone for mains as I wanted filling up after a 10k run earlier that day! Finished with my usual chocolate cake with cream which was just as good as I remembered. A little out of the way but definitely worth a visit!

On arrival we spent some time perusing the menu in the separate bar area. I ordered cod and spicy sausage. The others had fish kebabs. For starters, we shared white bate and a garlic bread. I thought my cod was a little underdone but the food was generally tasty. Service was freindly and attentive. We asked for advice on wines and the waiter gave us some good advice on a dry Italian white. They also have (which we also had-hic!) a Valpollicella ripasso, both of which were great. For desert we had the cheese board which came with plentiful crackers. Overall, this was a good local Italian. The one slight downside was a slightly off putting smell of cooking oil wafting from the kitchen. Maybe some machine wasn't working properly. Only a minor issue though.
