We were told we couldn't briefly use speakerphone while talking, then were told we couldn't even take a picture of a cheap witch hat in the store. The attitude over something so insignificant was ridiculous. Communication was also extremely difficult, and instead of clearly explaining the store's policies in English, she became increasingly rude and confrontational. The final straw was being told that if we weren't going to buy something, maybe we should leave. That is an absolutely insane way to treat people visiting Salem who are simply looking around and deciding whether they want to purchase something. There are countless shops in Salem with friendly employees, better merchandise, and people who actually appreciate tourists and customers. Spend your money literally anywhere else. This was easily one of the worst customer-service experiences we had during our entire trip. Would never return and absolutely would not recommend.
