Not only has it been far more economical for my dog to get shots, but they're so caring when it comes to follow-ups. I ordered a prescription heartworm medicine for my dog. Once I confirmed the new place to order, I thought the communication was done. But they checked back in to make sure I got the heartworm meds I needed even though they sell that brand at their facility. They truly did NOT have to do that. And then when I ordered a topical ointment for fleas and realized I got the wrong brand, I went into panic mode about returning it. Once again, they were helpful in letting me know if it was safe and whether I should return it. I know this is a place for cats, but when they switched that imagery on their door to add a little dog, they sure do mean it. Epitome of pet inclusiveness. I love it! (I'm 99.9% certain my dog is still one of Natalie's biggest fans, but I haven't returned for her shots yet. I'll find out soon enough.) Note: I typed this entire message before I realized the person who responded to my emails was indeed Natalie. I was about to click "Post Review" before I checked the email signature again. ATP, I might be one of her biggest fans too. :-)

However, I got this dog sweater from this location and thought maybe my dog would wear it once or twice for pics but never again. (I'm not a huge fan of dogs wearing clothes, but I had to admit a noticeable difference with my short-haired dog not shivering during winter months while wearing two separate coats. So I backed down on making fun of dog coats. My two larger, furrier dogs in prior years never needed manmade coats.) But this sweater is turning into a Linus blanket situation. I tried putting on a "Christmas" dog coat that matched her red Xmas collar (I love festive dog collars!!!), but it was white and getting dirty too quickly. I took it off to handwash it and put the Bark Place pink sweater on my dog solely for one walk, and she's been running away ever since when I try to take it off at night. At one point, she slid under one of the bar stools in my dining room, around the corner, ran into my bedroom and into her crate, flopping down sideways. Even if you don't need anything else in Bark Place, take note of the dog clothes. A bunch of my relatives crochet and knit, so I already knew the dog sweater was solid quality but expected it to wear. It still looks brand new, and my dog is glued to it. When I take it off to bathe her or what I *think* is comfier to sleep at night, she growls and leaps for it. I think a pink sweater and a red bow collar clash, but she couldn't care less about me being the fashion police. I'm tickled by how much she likes THIS particular sweater but has never ever been this into any other dog clothes gift (that I usually return) in four straight years. Don't sleep on the dog sweaters, I guess, unless you're my own dog who will turn over sideways so she CAN sleep in hers.

In December, our Vet noticed Bodhi needed another teeth cleaning. I didn't want him to receive anesthesia again so soon, especially because his breed is sensitive. I found Becker Animal on an internet search for non-anesthesia dental cleanings; they were highly rated. The ratings are spot on! It was a wonderful experience. Our dog had a temperament evaluation with a vet at Becker first. After, he was able to have a full teeth cleaning without anesthesia. The total cost was $305. Bodhi was wrapped in a blanket and his teeth were cleaned in the technicians lap. It only took about 30 minutes. The treatment included cold laser on his gums to help with swelling and a post-treatment consultation to review his dental hygiene, findings, and optional dental products. We left with a goodie bag including a dental chew, toothpaste and a toothbrush. Before and after pics and Bodhi in goggles for laser treatment. Yes, they even take pictures for you! The office was friendly, helpful, and communicated beautifully. Stacey manages the dental bookings. She is excellent with answering questions and scheduling . A+ experience!

Bramer has been our vet for 5 dogs over a course of 15 years, give or take. We have never, and I emphasize NEVER, had any issues or concerns with their level of medical knowledge, level of service or professionalism. Everyone we have even met there has been absolutely wonderful, from the vets that have departed to the new vet now and of course to all the vet techs and front office staff. I have also found their pricing to be very reasonable. We have been fortunate to have had such a great vet for our furkids. Most recently they fit us in quickly for last minute shots and paper work and gave us advice on travel meds for the kids. They were just as friendly and helpful as the very first time we walked through their doors. But, now, we are leaving the state and will no longer be able to bring our babies to them and that does make me sad. I only hope lightening strikes twice and that we find another awesome vet. Thank you Bramer for giving Bella, Hampton, Napoleon, Cooper and Winnie the attention they needed and for always being there for them. They have their tags and meds and are ready to travel!

This review is long overdue! MOST of the positive reviews on this Yelp profile were written under…read morethe previous management and veterinary team. Since a change in leadership a couple years ago, the entire veterinary staff has turned over. The prior team was excellent, and in hindsight, their departure should have been my first red flag! I brought my senior dog in for a regular checkup, and we discovered two unrelated health concerns -- one chronic condition and one separate illness we were monitoring because it could become worse. I felt strongly pushed toward medicating the chronic issue, even though I had researched that conservative management could sometimes be appropriate for older dogs. When I expressed hesitation, I felt pressured and made to feel guilty for even considering alternatives. The prescribed medication required frequent dose adjustments and repeated lab work, which quickly became expensive. Even though it was explained that finding the correct dosage would take trial and error, I was still required to purchase a full month's supply in advance. When the dosage was changed faster than expected, I was left with unusable medication and no reimbursement. This felt like an unnecessary and avoidable expense. There could have been a system in place to give me only sufficient medication until they figured it out. Meanwhile, we were monitoring the second issue which would later become more serious. Over the course of many visits within a year, we were seen by a different doctor every time, making continuity of care difficult. I also received conflicting recommendations from the different doctors about how to proceed -- including differing opinions on whether intervention was advisable at my dog's age and I was even told that the medication my dog was on for the chronic condition they pushed me to treat a few months ago would conflict with any medication prescribed for the other issue which was now more serious. Why didn't anyone mention that? During one visit, an interaction between staff and my dog led to a required follow-up and unexpected charges. In 15 years of veterinary visits, never had I had an issue like this before. I felt the situation escalated unnecessarily and was not handled with the level of communication or care I would have hoped for. At my final appointment, I specifically scheduled with the one doctor I felt I could trust, but at the last minute I was seen by someone else. Ultimately, I sought care elsewhere and have not looked back.

I raised the possibility with her two times over the course of a couple months--both because his lab values were high and the dose seemed high (higher than what I take as a human). She finally admitted she screwed up and he was indeed WAY over medicated. We had bought the medication from them and had spent hundreds of dollars trying to dial in a dose that could never work. They offered to refund me ONLY if I signed a NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT. They don't want me sharing what happened with anyone. Someone from the corporate office even called and asked me to consider what this could do to the vets career if I shared my story!!!!!! What about my cat and all of our pets? I believe I have a duty as an animal lover to say what happened, even if it means they won't refund me. So now I'm left to handle this in small claim's court and I found a new vet who will hopefully care more about my pet's health. I chose a private practice and not a corporate one, that's for sure.
