I am giving Carl's junior one star. I work with DoorDash, coming to pick up orders is a hassle. They make you go all the way to the drive-through, just to tell you that you have to go all the way to the front of the restaurant and wait for your order. WORST burgers I've EVER had at ANY Carl's Jr!!! I thought I was eating at Burger King for a minute! SUPER dry meat, obviously precooked and microwaved when I ordered! I haven't been to a Carl's Jr in 20 years since I lived in Vancouver, Washington and back then, the burgers were AWESOME! Juicy, hot, and whatever else you prefer your burger to be! That was when the Famous Star was only a buck! I realize prices increase due to food costs, but when this place first came to Tacoma on 6th Ave 10 years ago, I was so excited! Until I went through their drive-thru and realized their prices jumped up tri-fold! What I used to pay a buck for was now almost $3!!! So I never went back... until today. ONLY because I had a coupon from the mail. Okay, since their lobby is closed due to the Covid 19 thing, I was forced to go through the drive-thru. But knowing they were probably WAY more than I wanted to spend, I parked my car and walked up to the drive-thru menu to check out the prices. I did NOT want to be stuck in the line after I decided they were too expensive. So... I ended up ordering 2 Western burgers, but not just any... I special ordered mine with NO bacon, AND with Swiss cheese. A simple request. At most fast food places, when you make a special request, they have to cook YOUR burger alone, so it's always smokin' hot and juicy! NOT here! I swear they must have just pulled the bacon off a premaid burger and through Swiss on it, because my burger was FAR FROM HOT!!! And not only were they luke warm, the patties were SUPER DRY!!! And for the price, you only get TWO super dry, overcooked, rock hard, crunchy onion rings on them!!! I couldn't even finish my FIRST burger, but I TRIED to eat the second one by just eating only the patty, but again it was so dry and luke warm I tossed it out the window to the begging crows! Well, apparently even the CROWS are regulars to this lot, because of 6-8 crows NOT ONE of them would eat the patty or bun I tossed out my window!!! This visit was all it took for me to convince myself that I will NEVER, EVER eat at another Carl's Jr again... EVER! If I wanted super dry beef patties that weren't even warm, along with onion rings that were so hard and crunchy I couldn't eat them and had to remove them from the burger, I would have gone to McDonalds or Burger King! At least at those places, your burgers MIGHT have been more than luke warm, and the onion rings on them MIGHT have been soft and juicy! My honest opinion is this: If you like Carl's Jr, avoid this location! If you don't mind super dry, luke warm beef patties and rock hard onion rings, you will probably be happy were! But with so many gazillion choices in fast food, especially burger joints, you would be MUCH better off going to ANY other place besides here!!! I will NEVER go back to Carl's Jr again in my life! Tossed all my coupons in the trash too. I could have gotten a double cheese and fries SO hot and juicy it would have burned my mouth if I would have just driven to my REAL favorite burger joint, Frisco Freeze! But I was next door, and I had coupons. BIG MISTAKE! If the burger patties are so dry and cold, I'd hate to see how bad their chicken sandwiches are! read more

***AWFUL*** When this first opened, it was sooo good! Great service, amazing burgers. I was shocked that fast food could taste so good. This morning, however, changed my view on this Carl's Jr. FOREVER. we ordered at the drive thru, the girl was very friendly! Got to the window, paid... then waited 15 minutes!!!! No one came to the window to let us know why it was taking so long or even to apologize for the delay! Then, finally, she hands us the food, again no apology, and half our order isn't in the bag!!!!!! We watched three cars drive on through because they were tired of waiting. 3 stars because the food is decent. But it's absurd how long you have to wait for FAST FOOD! I started going inside because the drive thru wait is ridiculous. I don't know what to say. I've received bad service here before but never wrote a review...figured it was just an accident. About a month ago, I went through the drive thru. I ordered my burger, drink ,and my fries...the bacon ranch fries. I get home and open the fries and they are just fries...no ranch, no bacon. The receipt says bacon ranch fries and I was charged for them. And I'll be damned if the same thing didn't happen again today, this time the order was doubled. I'm not sure what the reason is, but maybe someone needs to review their procedures and train people on what Ranch, Bacon Fries really are. Very sad. Not sure we'll ever go back. read more

Was in the drive through ordered some food for my grandson and I wanted to try the Veggie burger. So I asked about the Beyond Burger. I was informed by the girl talking my order that it isn't a veggie burger, it is made from beef. So I declined and went to the window. While waiting for the food I looked on Carls Jr. website. Sure enough it is plant based not beef. So they sent a different girl to the window to give me my food. I called her on it and she lied and told me the girl said beets not beef. I informed her that the website states nothing about "beets". Just plant based. She said "no it's beets". I said again nothing states "Beets" anyplace just plants. I ordered 3 meals. 1 out of 3 meals was correct. I ordered a #10 which is a lettuce wrap burger. It came with a bun. Lettuce wrap is suppose to be the bubbles option, right ?? I also ordered a #2 with only ketchup and mustard. Even broke it down to her and said, only bun, cheese, meat, ketchup and mustard. The burger came with bun and meat only. Also they ALREADY ran out of things like grilled chicken and drink carriers. Fries were old and cold. Drive-thruc was wrapped around the block. I got the new chicken sandwich because it looked so good in the commercial. I was given an old shriveled up piece of chewy chicken, totally held to long. Barley any of the ranch sauce, the commercial shows it dripping. Ordered fries and onion rings.. both cold. I guess an ice cream milk shake with no whip cream means just taking one that's already made, scooping the whip cream out with a napkin and serving it to the customer. Clean, quick service, and good food. I've been to this location twice now, and definitely no complaints. Employees were friendly and professional and seemed to be constantly wiping off tables and sweeping. I'm not thrilled about the price vs some other locations, but it isnt enough of a deterrent to send me someplace else. read more

I understand this is a new location so it may be busy, I waited for an hour in the drive thru. When I went to order they tell me they aren't serving chicken tenders, so I get something else. I get to the window and ask for ranch and honey mustard. They tell me they don't have any honey mustard and will "look for ranch" I wait a few minutes and they come back and tell me they actually don't have ranch but they have honey mustard. The food tasted ordinary, nothing special. Definitely not worth the wait. Only reason they get more than 1 star is because they girl working the drive thru was nice. read more

People are being so hard on this new business, it literally just opened . They are new & still learning ! Everyone makes mistakes and it's how you get better but being hard on a business that just opened that has 17 cars lined up constantly since it opened messing up your order by one item is kinda ridiculous honestly.. The food is great when they get your order correct and good luck with that. They are friendly everytime I pull up but I swear they can't figure out what you ordered or they forgot something 3 out of the last 5 times I've gone. We decided to try the new location, after the person on the speaker didn't really understand the concept of "what are your specials" and waiting in the drive thru for nearly 10 minutes.. we got up to the window. Being from So Cal, I was excited to see these guys open up not far from me. Unfortunately they don't live up to any kind of customer service standards. I tried calling to address this with them directly before making a yelp review, but they just feed their calls to fax, and when I did briefly talk to someone named "Derek", he hung up on me. Although " Derek" said he was the store manager- I doubt that highly. They've gotten my order wrong twice now- only having been there twice- 0 for 0. News flash to newcomer Carl's Jr.- we've been getting by just fine without you for quite a long time- I will get my lettuce wrapped burgers from now on where I have for years- from 5 Guys. I went there at 10:40am on Thursday morning and ordered BOGO free western burgers with a coupon. I had four cars In front of me, and proceeded to wait 20 minutes before I got to the window. I was ignored for another 5 minutes, while 3 employees argued over orders. Finally I was handed my sloppy cold burgers with no recognition of some sort of apology. Screwed up our order, no milkshakes or any other sweet drinks. Only soda or water. The bread was mushy and the chicken was hard.

I've been craving new food since this area lacks a wide selection so I was excited when this Carl's Jr finally opened. I ordered three of the same combo to make things easier for them since it's opening week, but I did get different drinks. The Cherry Coke and Dr. Pepper did not taste right (syrup issue and seemed flat). However, the Root Beer tasted okay. They forgot my Jalapeno Poppers and one of the fries was hardly filled. The Western Burgers all tasted as they should though so maybe I'll update later once they have worked out their kinks and employees have learned how to make sure everything is in each bag. (I specifically asked if everything was in the one bag they gave me before leaving and was told yes). Also, I hope they figure something out that works well for parking and long lines for the drive thru. Right now, some people get stuck in their spots since the drive thru line is blocking them from getting out. read more
