Great pastries and sandwiches. If your a local the service is amazing, because if the staff knows you you may be able to go to the front of the line. We are not local. We walked in, no one was at the counter, we stood there looking at the menu waiting for someone to come when a lady walked in grabbed some goodies and the staff came out, proceeded with a local conversation and checked them out before taking our order. My wife ordered a coffee, which was forgotten, when we went back to the counter the staff member stated "oh yea, I forget that", continued to wait on other locals, then when she finished with them she got my wife her coffee. read more

We visited Carl's Bakery for the first time in 2018 while in town to see family. It is now a must on our annual visits from Hampton, Va. While the baked goods are delicious it is the macarons and walking taco that my daughter begs for every time. We are already planning our next trek up north for 2023. Great Donuts! While attending a program in Granite, our instructor introduced us to Carl's and their delicious donuts. We mostly got a variety of long johns and traditional donuts, so I can't really speak to any specialty types like fritters, although we were assured that they are really good. When I started working in Granite Falls, everyone would say how good Carl's bakery goods are. I took it with a grain of salt - everyone thinks their hometown bakery is the best. But Carl's obviously makes everything from scratch! From moist cream filled long johns to frosted white decorated cakes to delectable raised doughnuts. Even the sugar they roll the doughnuts in seems extra sweet! I haven't tried the few lunch items they offer, but I hear good things.
