We dropped my SUV off to have the transmission checked due to the age and mileage of the vehicle. It was driving fine, no noises, changing gears correctly, etc. They recommended that we clean and flush everything just as preventative maintenance and we agreed. After the cleaning, the car now jerks into gear and my transmission light is on. Their excuse was that cleaning it can uncover issues that were there and is a common possibility. Yeah, ok. I was charged for a diagnostic assessment and the transmission cleaning so basically I paid them several hundred dollars to have my car run WORSE than before I brought it in. In addition, they never answer the phone, come and go in between business hours with no notice, and they kept my car for 5 days with no updates or information provided unless we called multiple times. Do not recommend at all.

I am writing this review based on a recent, disappointing experience with Leisure Automotive. I…read moredealt with Bill, who informed me that my car had been inspected and that the timing belt had broken. He claimed I "won the lottery" because there was supposedly no engine damage, despite the fact that a belt failure on a Honda V6 almost always results in the valves hitting the pistons. Being skeptical, I performed my own inspection. I had personally installed a new OEM Honda timing belt only four months ago and was confident in the work. When I pulled the top timing cover, I found the belt I installed was still perfectly intact. There was no evidence of a snapped belt, a seized water pump, or a failed pulley. I was charged over $1,100 for a timing belt replacement that clearly didn't happen. Based on the symptoms, I believe the actual issue was a simple fuel pump fuse--a repair that should have cost less than $200, including diagnostics. I have recommended Leasure automotive to over 100 people over the last 20 years because I believed he was honest and above board. I actually started working on my own cars in 1979 specifically because a mechanic ripped me off back then; it is a shame to see a shop I trusted for so long compromise their integrity like this. I am sharing this so others can be aware of my personal experience.

Jeremy didn't have time for the original date, I was planning on driving an hour plus to Lakeland for, but he was able to accommodate me the following week. He sent Luis to meet us at the dealership. I text when we were heading out that way, then again when we arrived, then again to find out if anyone was coming about 45 minutes after we got there. Luis eventually arrived after his earlier appointments, we had already test driven and ruled out 2 of the 3 cars I was interested in. We then had Luis take us for a test drive in the 3rd car, he explained a few things to us that we didn't know about, he also accommodated my request to drive up an incline, to see how the car advanced. After we drove the car, he did a diagnostic on it. He showed us what came up in the computer, which were all things we saw on the dash or noticed. The one thing I wish I had asked about, which was something I didn't think about until later was checking fluids etc. Turns out some were low. I'm not even sure that's something they do. Overall, it was a good experience for the $120.00 plus tip. I used their list of items that needed repairs/fixed to negotiate the price down a little. Luis said the light bulbs needed replaced, which turned out to be electrical issues vs bulbs, which was more than I expected to repair. I asked Luis to send me a price for the repairs, I was going to have them do the repairs for me, but I never heard from him again, otherwise it would be a 5 star review. I would still hire them again if I were needing a mechanic in Lakeland, FL area. I have already recommended them to others looking for cars in that area.
