Many of those working there focus on altruistic endeavors. The CCO Lisa is great. She's very understanding and affable. She wants you to feel comfortable there. The space is clean. The working desks are roomy; there's a nice variety of desks, lounge areas, and private rooms. The ground floor maintains the essence of the old library structure at the original Albuquerque High School with high ceilings. Most of the buildings there are residential. Because this was an old school, there's a lovely courtyard to take breaks or work. The basement level is more cozy and modern and brightly lit. Perfect for an artist like me. Hopefully, there's a spot where you can spread out more if you have an easel. I love the vast open space and being around others, though I enjoyed the times when no one was there. Overall, FatPipe is on the quieter side. Everyone keeps their phones silent mode. Of course, you will hear collaborating and Zoom calls, but it's not loud. The carpeting helps with that. They have a weekly yoga session to start your day and 1 Million Cups. Lisa brings speakers in regularly. As an artist, I love that FatPipe is open 24/7 for monthly members and beyond.

Wow! Thanks for the headshots! What an amazing collection of people! Evan has gone above and beyond…read moregetting it all set up for usable office space. Joshua was professional and sweet taking my headshot. Thanks again. From the outside it looks like an old abandoned garage/station and I had no trouble parking but it was awkward. The space itself was open; two larger areas for events and smaller individual workspaces. I am a loud person by nature so I felt if I needed to work and take calls I would disturb others needing quiet. I like the perks like free coffee and snacks. I should have looked closer at the equipment. I am an Apple girl and I didn't look to see if their stuff was compatible. The WiFi was strong. I didn't use the bathroom so I can't review that aspect either. All the plants were beautiful and it was good energy for working. Working area was tuck way back away from the open natural light I personally love natural light and work off a laptop so I would probably ask to sit in the front if it was not being used. This location is super close to UNM and food so it's convenient and if I was someone that moved around a lot I could see this as a great stop in.

We were given a very nice tour of the facility. I can see that it is a work in progress and believe it is going to be an extremely great place for those who need space. they provide private offices for rent, big rooms for classes or lectures, and small meeting rooms. I already have an idea how I can utilize the space. There are some fantastic features from when the place was built over a 100 years ago. Let's See this place grow.

I tried calling the number listed on their page, but no answer. So that was disappointing. From what I could see through the window it looked like a nice area but I no actual produce. Haha. Perhaps they were closed due to the Tech Fiesta events, but there was no sign or notification of that anywhere. On top of not being open, the space was hard to get to. It is in the same building as A New Awakening, which is like a counseling center. So you have to walk through the counseling area and at the end of the hall is the entrance to The Produce Company. Parking is always annoying downtown, and this place is no exception. For the entire building there are 4 spaces in the alley that are reserved for customers. Otherwise, you gotta feed the meter. Considering that I would want to stay and work for a number of hours, paying to park is highly unappealing. So overall, in comparison to Convivium Coworking and Fat Pipe ABQ, this place cannot compete. It may be worth trying out if you live close and can walk/bike, and if they are actually open. Otherwise, I say skip it.

And you're obviously thinking, Well of course he's giving the place five stars. And you're right about the former. But you're wrong about the latter. Okay, I'm a sucker for nonprofits. I am. I get giddy about doing humanitarian work because I figure it comes down to this: you're born, you live, you die, what did you do with all of that time? Sell snack chips? Watch football? Show off your tribal tattoos? Seriously, yo, did you make the world a better place when you left it? Um... The SVEDC encompasses everything you wish you were doing while you watched the latest episode of Survivor and checked on Lindsay Lohan's Twitter posts. From TEDxABQ to The Mixing Bowl (a community kitchen for organizations feeding those in need), the place supports the south valley in countless ways. So many great things are happening here, in a community that knows Burque better than anyone else. So yeah, I'm pimping this biz. The five stars are awarded to the people, the everyday persons that inhabit this wonderful space. Come visit, please, even if you can't make the event. They'll show you around and give you the skinny on getting active in this great neighborhood and the city at large. Five people stars. Salud!

Great little space, nice couches, chairs, desks; even a counter where you can work while standing. The people here seem very friendly; I think they may start accepting Dwolla as payment soon as well. $5 for a day pass puts them in the category of coworking spaces that I can use regularly on my budget without worrying overmuch; the only other one for that price I know of here in ABQ is TechLove in Nob Hill. The building is beautiful and houses a number of other great resources helping small businesses and startups that I haven't even fully explored yet, and am looking forward to doing in the near future. But the coworking space is great. Great alternative to TechLove without breaking the bank.
