I used McKinley a lot while I was a student…read more First, let me point out that it is not, as another reviewer put it, free. McKinley actually charges a fee, which is added to your school bill. It's not too much, about 300 or so dollars per semester. This is in addition to the health insurance fee charged by the university. That being said, $300 for 4 months is still a very good deal. The reason most students feel that the service is poor or that the wait times are long is that most of them do go when they're sick... which is flu season. So of course if everyone's there at the same time, there's going to be long wait times -- especially if you don't make an appointment, which most students do not. And 90% of the students who show up either have the common cold or food poisoning. There's not that much a doctor can do about those, except tell you that it'll heal with time and maybe give you a pill to make you feel better. Anyway, if you take out the long wait times during flu season, I think the service is actually pretty good for a college health center.

My freshman son has been sick for a week, just visited McKinley for the second time in a week…read more First visit they gave him cough drops. Second visit today, He went directly to West Clinic they gave his appointment away because they said he didn't check in downstairs. They Did not even ask him any of his symptoms or how he was feeling. Total incompetence. I drove down to Champaign this morning to bring him home to see a real doctor. He had scheduled an 11 am appointment at McKinley so we went. I was actually there to see what type of care they would provide. Typical state employees that just don't give a shit. He had a 103 fever and suffered a seizure. Brought him to ER in Park Ridge they immediately took his temperature and gave him something to lower fever at check in. ***Updated 3 hours later, he also tested positive for strep. What kind of clinic does take temperature or test for strep?

Didn't have time to get scheduled in with my primary provider and it wasn't anything emergent, so I…read morechose Well Now Urgent Care. Upon entering their facility, the staff was friendly and prompt. The waiting room (which I was only in for less than 5 minutes) was clean and had extra touches to make your visit more enjoyable. Once in the back, vitals were taken and lab work was completed quickly. My provider, Carol, was amazing. She was efficient, caring and made sure I knew what to do to improve. Prescriptions were sent over to my pharmacy without me having to drop off and then return later to pick them up, which is super convenient. Thank you, Carol and team, for the five-star care given today! Would definitely recommend Well Now Urgent Care for your urgent healthcare needs.

Avoid them- it's a scam. Unfortunately - I cannot give zero…read morestars. Have been passed from a to b to c and cannot find a review location on google for them or their website. I went in a few weeks ago for a recurring issue to SEE A DOCTOR. I have decent insurance and access to free teleDOC app through work. I would have used teleDOC but I knew they would send me to an actual dr to do a sample to get the right antibiotic because this would have been my third round to kill whatever was causing the problem. I waited for AN HOUR with a next to nothing waiting room. I noticed a few people had come in and were turned away: I was confused because they weren't busy. I went up to ask some time later and I was informed that there WASN'T A DOCTOR IN THE BUILDING. Mind you- insurance was run, $30 "co pay" (my insurance doesn't have an upfront copay) and sample was taken. I was informed that there would be a nurse in the room and a dr on the screen. IF I WANTED TO DO TELEDOC FOR FREE I WOULD HAVE. Since they took my $30 I felt like I had no choice but to wait a bit longer. I went back with the nurse and he took my vitals and had dr on zoom waiting. Dr wouldn't take call. Needed to recheck vitals. Dr pops up on screen (think they were in New York) and says I'm calling an ambulance because your blood pressure is too high (totally unrelated to the issue I popped in for). I said nope if anything I'll have someone take me but I need this other issue sorted out - refused to talk to me about it. I left and went to ER because at this point I needed to see an actual doctor for recurring issue - and health care is not available in this town. I called back a few days later to see if they ran sample - talked to nurse and he said they are not. I said then I should not be charged and he agreed and he'd speak to his manager and get back to me- at this rate who knows if my blood pressure was accurate when I was in there. They are seemingly incompetent. (Blood pressure was fine upon arrival to ER). I also sent an email. No replies on both ends. Open the mail today. $230 bill! For literally nothing done. I called the place and said I need to talk to billing. Called billing - number doesn't work. It's a legit scam. And until this bill is rectified on their end and I owe $0- I will be contacting daily.
