I delivered my first child at Desert and we have seen 3 different doctors in the Valley so I feel like I've had experience with other pediatricians, none of which are as professional and kind as the team here. I am so impressed with Dr. Russell, she is so attentive, gentle and caring. She is also so thorough when answering our questions. We also love her staff, Jessica and Renee help care for our LO too and they are just as sweet as Dr.

Our child was misdiagnosed, which caused us enormous fear, unnecessary testing, and a lot of out-of-pocket expenses. We eventually took our child to a specialist at Loma Linda, who told us the pediatrician's diagnosis and information were wrong. I cannot explain how terrifying it was to be told something was wrong with your child, only to later find out that it wasn't true. Both doctors involved in our experience showed a level of care and judgment that was extremely disappointing. What's even more concerning is that this is a teaching environment for future doctors. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Don't bring your child here!

Unfortunately, they were out of network and hadn't informed me beforehand. It's ultimately my responsibility to be aware of my network, but here's the kicker: my daughter was seen by the doctor for a mere two minutes before he informed me that she needed to be taken to Loma Linda Children's Hospital because it was a serious issue. We immediately drove to Loma Linda Children's Hospital and waited in the emergency room. After a thorough examination, the Loma Linda doctors sent us home, stating that she was 100% fine. They simply said, "I don't know what kind of doctor you took her to, but she's fine." As a result, we are now responsible for paying $300 for a two-minute visit, a scare that led us to believe there was a serious issue, and not to mention the five hours of travel and wait time at Loma Linda.

The doctor took a glance, told me it was ringworm and it was infected. He prescribed two creams (didn't even know how to use them or what the purpose was) and an antibiotic. He then told me to give him an apple cider vinegar bath and rub Head and Shoulders all over his body. I walked out of there and told my husband that I didn't trust this doctor at all. When we got home, we took him to his regular urgent care doc and she looked very confused/concerned and said to throw everything away. She said it was a simple bacterial infection, gave us a different cream and a different antibiotic and said it would be fine in a week. And it was. Now, I have to pay them money.

I've never had an appointment where my list of issues and questions were so completely and throughly answered. Printouts... homework and goals set. Very nice, clean and organized office. So I assumed at my first visit she would check his sugars to see if they were steady, nope she just overlooked the paper I brought with his levels, dismisses said nothing. She instructed us to feed our newborn son 1 oz every 2-3 hours which we continued to do until our next visit in 5 days. Upon our next visit she let's us know our son was underweight, and that we should have been feeding him 2 oz this entire time. My husband and I made sure the first visit to write it down to not forget, we knew what she said the first visit. Not to mention the office is not sanitary to any means. The paper that you put your child on is sitting on the floor and rolled up to have your newborn on. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone. I believe this is a doctor that cares about money and wants your child to stay sick so she can get paid for each visit, or else why would she purposely have us underfeed our child for an entire week?

The office is always professional and kind. The office can be very busy and there is a wait sometimes. But the service and attention given to the patients is above and beyond. When I do need forms filled out , I drop off and understand it takes a few days because they must have tons of forms from other mommies who need them filled out . I always try and give them some grace. All doctors have flaws but at the end of the day they take care of my kids way better than these urgent care and emergency rooms that have me waiting hours (emergency rooms 5+ hours) and urgent care that misdiagnosed or give wrong meds .
