I can not say enough wonderful things about David and Caring Pet Cremation Services. After my puppy, Jack, passed away pretty unexpectedly one evening, I was left lost and not sure what to do. I knew Jack was getting older, but I was not even remotely ready to say goodbye to my faithful companion. I was up all night worrying about how I was going to honor my pup, who was a member of my family for over 14 years. In addition to my devastation, I did not know how I was going to emotionally or physically transport him anywhere by myself and wasn't sure if I should look into cremation or burial. I searched the internet and came across Caring Pet Cremation Services and called at 815 am. After getting some basic information, David arrived at my house at 930 am. In addition to his quick response, I was immediately impressed with his empathy and kindness. He loaded Jack into his vehicle and promised me he would treat Jack with respect. I was such an emotional wreck and he immediately made me feel better about the entire process. The fee was more than reasonable. I would have gladly paid him more. He promised that he would return Jack to me the next day. Today, I received the urn, a cremation certificate, Jacks blue collar, a section of his little blanket, a snippet of his hair, a beautiful clay print of his little paw with his name, as well as some bereavement material, all wrapped up beautifully in a little bag with doggie paws on it. I've cried all night looking at the beautiful little package and know that me and my girls will cherish it forever. Even though losing Jack has been heartbreaking and I miss him more than words can say, I find solace in the fact that he is here with me and David has provided me a beautiful way to honor my puppy who gave me so much, but required so little in return. Thank you, David. You will never know how much your kindness and reassurance that day eased some of my pain. Anyone who finds themselves in the horrible place of losing a beloved pet, no matter if its sudden or after a long battle, David Nelson is the kindest man you could ever hope to find. Our Brucie was diagnosed with nasal cancer on 2/20/20 and left our family on Easter Sunday 2021. We were given a 90 day life expectancy so after the one year mark I knew I needed to make arrangements so we weren't faced with decisions in a crisis. We knew it was coming which gave me the chance to plan ahead, something I am grateful for but no less painful. I contacted 2 other places, one never responded and the other told me very coldly that I should deal through my vet since they do not talk directly with families. Then I called David, who answered the phone himself and quietly listened while I fell apart explaining our situation. I knew when the worst happened our Brucie would be in loving hands....then that awful day came. I called David at 7PM Easter Sunday from the ER vet and even though he volunteered to drive all the way to us to get Brucie I told him we would like to bring him ourselves that night. David waited for us until 9PM at his house. He was the kindest man I think I have ever met and promised me he would stay with Brucie and be sure to tell him how loved he was and that he was the best boy. The very next day David drove the hour to my house to bring our boy home. He was in a lovely urn, brought us a precious pawprint and nose print, fur clipping and even a piece of the blanket he was wrapped in. The one thing I remember most from our first conversation is when David told me he would NEVER place our sweet boy or any animal in a black trash bag, he would only carry him in a soft blanket and care for him as if he was his own family pet. When we were able to see our pet one last time, David had him wrapped in a blanket and covered with a sheet. David's wife had beautiful flowers from her garden placed next to our pet. David allowed us some private time to be with our dog before cremation. We were able to select the memory items we wanted to keep in remembrance of our beautiful and wonderful dog. David felt like family. Without his services, and his caring and friendly way, we could not have gotten through our grieving as well as we did. He is a very nice, sympathetic, courteous, professional, and caring man who truly cares about pet owners and their pets, and was our salvation during this crisis. Words cannot express our gratitude and thanks to David for his caring and understanding of our situation! Our dogs body was on hold for cremation at another facility because we wanted a private but because of Covid they were not allowing it! This was heartbreaking and I couldn't stop crying so my husband makes some calls and as soon as David heard our story he said can you come today! He was genuinely concerned and wanted to help! The care he took and time he gave us meant so much! He gave us the private we wanted, gave us some time to be with her one last time! Let me watch him make a clay paw print keepsake for me! And we stayed til the door was closed! We came back a few hours later and he had everything presented so beautiful, in ribbons a lock of her hair, nose prints on a card, her remains in the urn with the silver heart hanging around it with paw prints on it with a bit of her remains in it! A beautiful poem that made me cry! It was just so nice, and he was just so caring in putting my baby to rest so she was no longer laying in a freezer! Wow, Amazing , Caring , Compassionate, Sympathetic are just a few words to describe the service I recieved . I had been in contact with David Nelson for about 2.5 weeks when I thought it was time , he told me once the appointment was over to call him he would be right there . We ending up brining our pup home for just one more short week . Wednesday 3/3/21 I called him and told him today was the day . He was at the vets office 20 minutes after I arrived , he checked in with the front office and told them who he was here to get . Once it was time . He came in the room , we laughed and chatted about my beloved pup. He wrapped her in a warm blanket , put her on a stretcher and we walked out together . He gave me as much time as I needed with her outside , for the last good bye . And 24 hours later he brought her home , to my door step with the sweetest keepsakes. So heartfelt , so special and I will cherish these moments for the rest of my life . I have had 10 plus animals cremated, but this experience BY FAR has been the most sentimental experience. David and Angel are the perfect people when it comes to the loss of our furr-babies and other family pet members. The meticulous care and detail in preparing my Milan's cremation is evident. My furr-baby was laid in the wooden box (made in VA), in blue velvet bag, with a tassel key, lock of hair enclosed in a small gift box, pink ribbon with nose print, and a baked clay imprint of her paw, name, year and more were just so comforting touches to Milan's finality. They have 'heart' and truly understand what our pets mean to us even when they are no longer here with us. No matter where I live, she can always go to the new home. And, I will also add that the wooden box I selected had the lid that allowed picture of my Furr-baby and can be changed to suit me if I want. Thanks, is not enough to justify the outstanding finality of Milan's resting place. Angel, just like her name, was just that Angel to me at my most devastating moments, and David was thorough in asking me what my preferences to make it memorable for a very emotional planing undertaken. We only moved to the state recently, and our elderly cat, who was already ill, passed one night. I can't say it was wholly unexpected, but it was even more upsetting in that this doesn't usually happen at home for us. I wasn't sure what to do, not even knowing my way around yet, but I was lucky to find David on the internet. He was so very kind and understanding of our loss. He was very respectful and took care of everything quickly. As mentioned in other reviews, we received a nice little urn with our cat's remains, a card, a small section of his blanket, a piece of his hair, a clay imprint of his paw and nose prints, and a certificate of cremation wrapped and tied up in paw-print tissue and placed in a pretty bag. It helps ease the pain when someone cares and goes out of their way to offer as much comfort and caring in times of grief as David did. We called Caring Pet Cremation Services when our 17 yo cat, Earl, passed. To complicate things, there was a weekend ice storm and travel was not possible. After receiving a less than compassionate response from a service we had used many times in the past, we decided to look elsewhere. David answered the phone, even though it was after weekend hours, was compassionate, and made arrangements to have us meet him the next day, Sunday. He brought a beautiful basket to carry our Earl, while respectfully finalizing plans. We chose an urn that needed to be ordered. Due to weather issues across the country, it took over a week for the urn to arrive, and David kept us updated. He delivered Earl to our home in a gift style bag with the urn wrapped in paw print paper and ribbon. We were very happy with the black sleeping kitty urn. Highly recommended! There are simply no words to adequately describe the high level of service that David with CPC provides. After a tragic loss on Christmas Day, I called around to several pet cremation services the next morning. No one answered the phone except David. He was so kind, caring, and compassionate. I was able to meet with him just a few hours after the inital call and he called me the very next day to let me know that all had been taken care of. His level of customer service is simply unheard of in this day and time; it is beyond excellent. David at Caring Pet Cremation Services made a sad day a little better. He is so kind and caring and treated my little Yorkie Faith with the utmost gentleness, dignity, and respect. He let me take as long as I needed with my precious girl before I left her with him. He actually was able to cremate her the same day and brought her cremains back to me at my house the same afternoon. In addition to the cremains, there was a paw print,, nose print, and a lock of her fur. Caring Pet Cremation Services assisted us with my mom's little parakeet, Sunshine. Since my mom lives in a 55 + retirement community and was under Covid 19 quarantine when Sunshine passed suddenly, I started looking for a place that would loving handle the cremation of her little friend. David Nelson and his wife did just that and made the process so much easier to handle. I'm sure they don't get many requests for parakeet cremations...:) and his wife made a special bag & tissue paper with little parakeets stamped on it just for us. I just picked up my Kitty today from my vets office. Yesterday unfortunately we had to lay to rest our fur baby whom was my daughters cat. He was loved so dearly. When our kitty was euthanized at the vets office, we left him there to be picked up by Caring pet Cremation Service. They did a great job considering the circumstances. Our kitty was picked up, and once in their care they called to let us know they had our fur baby. They had him ready the very next day back at our vets office for pickup. Everything was beautiful. I was so touched by everything. I just sat in my truck and cried. We miss him dearly. And we're so glad that he was treated with respect. David was so kind in offering to come transport my sweet Mathea who had passed, but I insisted that I needed to do it myself. I beloved 11 year old dog passed away in our arms early Easter morning. We were devastated and did not know what the next step was especially early on Easter morning. I called Caring Pet Cremation Services at 9:00 Easter Sunday morning and left a message asking for help. I thought I may receive a call back the next day since it was Easter morning, and within just a few minutes David called me and said he would be glad to help us. Six months ago when we had to make that difficult decision, we decided on cremation. I had a list of cremation services that I was going to call.
