We recently had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Coco-Lee, and Dr. Liu came to our home to help us through this incredibly difficult moment. From the moment she arrived, her kindness, patience, and gentle presence brought comfort and peace to our family. She explained every step with such compassion and was so respectful not to rush us in our goodbyes. Dr. Liu very caringly placed our 15+ year old, tiny 8 lb little Coco in a beautiful basket with a warm, comfy blanket -- she looked so peaceful . What truly stood out was Dr. Liu's care afterward: she followed up the next day, the following week, and even over a month later, checking in on us and offering pet grief counseling resources. That level of compassion is above and beyond. Yelp needs a rating higher than 5 stars -- I would give Dr. Liu 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend her to anyone facing the heartbreaking decision of saying goodbye to a beloved pet. Although it was one of the hardest days of our lives, Dr. Liu's empathy, respect, and professionalism turned it into a tender, dignified farewell. I will always be deeply grateful for the compassion she showed both to Coco-Lee and to our family.

After realizing it was time, I came across Caring Heart through a frantic bout of online searching. I will be eternally grateful for finding Dr. Allegra Liu. Dr. Liu brought expertise and incredible kindness to our time of saying goodbye to our beloved 15 1/2 year old dog Cody. She was respectful in every way regarding our family's various needs in saying goodbye. Every step of being in contact, having questions about the process and checking in afterward was addressed with attention and care. The responsibility and heartache of arranging the end of life care of a beloved creature is enormous. I think it takes a special personality to dedicate themselves to being with others at this point and to step in with the needed grace and reverence. Dr. Liu brought these qualities to her interactions with all of us and helped us co-create the experience for Cody that we needed and that he deserved.

Our beloved kitty Lizzie succumbed to her battle with cancer today. Dr Liu was so incredibly kind and from the moment she arrived, we knew we made the best decision in choosing her. She had a soft voice, was patient, and explained everything with gentle reassurance. On such a hard day, she made it as easy as possible to let go of our sweet girl. She's very good at what she does.

I am so happy we decided to go with an at home service for our 11 year old family dog, Buster because it was a memory I'll treasure forever. Dr. Liu was incredibly responsive and helpful in answering any questions I had. On the day of service, Dr. Liu was prompt and entered with a quiet, professional, and calming energy. Before the final step, Dr. Liu stepped back and gave my family space and time to say our goodbyes. She was extremely careful and respectful, which put my mind at ease during this devastating time. Thank you for your care, Dr. Liu!

This is the second time I had to enlist Dr. Liu. I adopted a 12 year old rescue cat who lived 5 years till her kidneys started to fail quickly. It was during the New Year's Holiday. On the website, it mentions that the work is a calling for Dr. Liu - and it is true. Ava was given treatment to be comfortable for 72 hours, Dr. Liu was quick to respond in spite of the Holiday. Dr. Liu is flawless. Her authentic compassion + care allowed me to be fully present with Ava. I highly recommend Dr. Liu.

I had to say goodbye to my beloved dog, Chloe, two weeks ago. On March 21, I was frantically searching for a vet to do in-home euthanasia the same day. I reached out to many services that were 1-3 days booked. I could not stomach letting her suffer one more night. Thankfully, Dr. Allegra Liu responded to me right away and said she would be available that night. Honestly, I am so grateful and glad she took care of my sweet baby during the most difficult point in my life. Dr. Allegra was respectful and helped ease my doubt if I was doing the right thing. She was very professional and explained the process to us beforehand. She even gave us time with Chloe until we were ready to let her proceed. She is very genuine and sincere about her job and it showed. One would think that she would provide the service and that would be it, however she went above and beyond that. One of the hardest parts about losing a pet is the aftermath. I dreaded to have to make calls to Chloe's primary vet to let them know she passed, but surprisingly Dr. Allegra messaged them for me. Additionally, she contacted the crematorium to hold Chloe for pick up (at my request) instead of her being shipped to my home. She sent us a card and even checked up to see how we were doing a week later. I highly recommend her. Although it was very painful to have to say goodbye; I take comfort in knowing that I was able to give Chloe the perfect send off and Dr. Allegra was an integral part of that. Thank you, Dr. Allegra Liu.

If you're reading this, my heart goes out to you and I am so sorry for what you're going through. The decision is one of the most difficult ones. There are many other options for in-home visits and the original place I scheduled with canceled on me last minute due to the doctor getting covid. I scrambled and found Dr. Allegra Liu. I am actually so glad it happened this way as from the minute I talked to Dr. Allegra, I knew she was the right gentle caring soul to help my cat Zoe graduate from this world. She was extremely responsive, understanding and empathetic. She walked me through what the procedure will be like not just for me but for Zoe and that gave me the comfort to know I'm doing the right thing. Dr. Allegra even followed up with an email to check in to see how we were doing and also sent a heartfelt hand-written card that meant everything. Dr. Allegra's gentle and kind gestures brought a great deal of comfort and eased my anxiety during such a painfully difficult time. I would recommend Caring Heart to anyone who is facing this difficult next step in your pet's life.

This is immediately AFTER she told me she had availability.'

Unfortunately my experience with Caring Heart Vet Services wasn't a good one. I made an appointment to out my cherished dog down and ended up not being ready to let go, so I reached out to Dr Lui and rescheduled. I was extremely apologetic and just needed a little more time. I waited a while and reached out to schedule another appointment after my dog was finally ready. I waited almost 2 weeks for the vet to get back to me after calling and texting her. The day she did reach back out she informed me she had availability for the next week - which I told her I wanted to schedule and assured her we were ready to move forward. After I agreed to schedule, she immediately text me back with other options AFTER she said she had availability. I quickly asked her why did she need to refer other vets if she had availability and she told me it was because I "scheduled once and had a cancellation". So she pretty much held a grudge because I rescheduled. I then returned her text and found out that she had BLOCKED me. After I was so apologetic and assured her that we were ready, that was what she chose to do. The wait of 12 days for a response and the fact that she held grudge about such a large decision just left a bad taste in my mouth. Overall it was not a good experience and it seemed to me that this Vet is more concerned with MONEY than she is with helping you through life changing situation. The situation was handled poorly on her part and makes me question her bedside manner. I'd not recommend anyone to this "Dr" just based on the fact that me not being ready seemingly made her upset and while apologizing again I was blocked. I would not recommend her to anyone and will be sure to let people know how rudely I was treated after trying honor what I said about hiring her when I WAS READY. Please people whatever you do, don't have ANY UNCERTAINTY about putting your dog down- because this "DR" will get upset, ignore you for two weeks and then block you.

    Rory's final hours....
    Victoria T.

It's been a week since Dr. Liu came to our home to relieve our beloved dog Rory from his suffering. He had been ill for some time and I had heard about Dr. Liu from my mommy group. I contacted her through her website around 11am and heard from her very quickly. When I told her Rory's symptoms, she gave us an appointment for the same day. He was going downhill so fast and suffering. When she arrived to me and my tearful family, she was so calm and soothing, and gentle with our sweet little Rory dog. After 24 hours of intense suffering due to a rapid health decline, Dr. Liu gave him the injections and he drifted off to Heaven with us around him. She gave us time to spend with him afterward and gently made a ceramic paw print for us. She was also very good with our 3.5 year old son who was present. She took Rory with her in a beautiful basket after we discussed our cremation options. I also received a very sweet and touching email from her a few days later asking how I am doing, and offered pet loss support resources. ----Dr. Liu will forever be special to us since she was there in Rory's last moments. She made a terribly sad event into a beautiful experience.---- If anybody has to go through this, I really recommend doing euthanasia in the comfort of your pet's home. It is more private, peaceful, and the cost is very comparable to doing it at the veterinary office. I also want to mention that our veterinarian's office, which is an animal hospital where Rory had been going for over 8 years, could not let us come in the same day for euthanasia, and I emailed them that he passed away. It is a week later, with no response from them.

Our sweet, almost 15 year old Lab was not well, and a friend recommended Dr. Liu for an at home visit. It obviously was a difficult and emotional time, but Dr. Liu was wonderful- low key and empathetic. She somehow knew when to be there to help guide us as we said our good byes, and when to stand back and leave us alone. She was absolutely in no hurry, and let us take all the time we needed. When it was time to proceed, she explained how each step would go and how our dog would react. It was very sad, but honorable and so peaceful. Thanks to Dr. Liu it was a painful, but meaningful experience.

I am so sorry you are here researching this Yelp review. I cannot describe the depth of grief I experienced about a month ago when it was time to help my beloved 21 year old cat cross the rainbow bridge, and I was mustering up the strength in between ugly cries calling various at home euthanasia services hoping someone could come that day. I called at least 10 different people but only Dr. Allegra Liu was responsive and could come later that same day. I thank God that it was Dr. Liu, because she was extremely kind, empathetic, and compassionate throughout the whole process. As incredibly painful as it was for me, I am grateful my cat was able to go peacefully on his favorite blanket on his favorite spot on the couch, holding my hand. This was the hardest decision I had to make but Dr. Liu made it just a bit more easier. She also helped us save his fur trimmings and made a paw print too, and a week after, sent me an email and a card to check in on me. And when she delivered the ashes back to us in the most beautiful box just two weeks later, her daughter folded us a lovely origami flower, which I keep next to his box today. Thank you Dr. Liu for your deep personal touch in a moment that will surely stay with me forever.

Dr. Bolich is our vet and I texted her immediately after the injury... she was on vacation out of state and gave me a great referral to an emergency vet. At the time, Dr Bolich was at the other site before moving to this location. The emergency vet she referred me to recommended amputation due to the injury and age of my cat (9 years old). Dr. Bolich had also said it was likely we would need to amputate due to the infection my cat got from the injury. He's an outdoor kitty and I knew if we had to amputate him he wouldn't want to live any longer. I begged Dr. Bolich to not remove his leg. She gave us a wild option: we could treat his wound with honey. It was expensive and the wound had to be re-wrapped every 3 days for a few months- but she gave us the options. We chose to take a risk and try therapy suggested knowing it might be in vain. Well, it worked. My cat isn't a nice guy to most humans - he's an ex-feral we adopted as a kitten and he can be a bit spicy, but the team Dr. Bolich has worked wonders. As you can see in his photos attached the honey treatment worked! His ligaments, muscle, skin and fat grew back in a couple months time. It's been eight months since his injury and he now has a full coat of fur covering his old wound! Dr. Jen even made friends with Jax and had him so relaxed in an uncomfortable environment. Thank you, Dr. Bolich, for your excellent and quick thinking and being open to an out-the-box treatment that saved our kitty and his leg. We meow you VCA!

My thoughts; Truth is, senior dogs don't get adopted because folks fear vet bills that cost more than car repairs. Why not a "public defender" model from the ASPCA--free or low-cost vet care for adopted seniors? They've got the donations, the vets could chip in hours, and it would save lives. And while we're at it, stop feeding dogs the kibble equivalent of fast food. Senior pets deserve decent chow and medical backup. More adoptions, less shelter crowvding, happier tails.f

Last month, our 11 year old hopped off the couch, cried out and was walking around lifting her hind leg without putting any weight on it. We took her to Animal Cove for an exam, where the veterinarian initially greeted us warmly. He diagnosed a grade 1-2 subluxated patella which he said was completely normal in this breed, monitor for a month and if still limping then surgery for the patella could be recommended. I did mention she wasn't just limping but pulling her leg up, and I felt rushed out and described to as a normal condition for her breed. An NSAID medication was prescribed for the month. Because of this encounter that sat uncomfortable with me, we took her in for a second opinion at a veterinarian I had taken my past fur baby to. This vet immediately identified that yes there was a subluxated patella, but also a completely torn ligament in her knee which could undergo surgery. We've since completed a referral to a surgeon the same week. Our pup has undergone surgery primarily for her fully torn knee ligament, and since the surgeon was at the site also operated on her subluxated patella, two weeks ago. I could recommend this establishment for routine care, but would advise caution for any urgent or emergent care for any differential diagnoses.
