Second, I watched the DIRECTOR, Megan, threaten to call one the kids parents and then proceeds to "call" mom and says to a FOUR year old "ok that's it I'm calling mom".. (all while the director made eye contact with me and then turned around with no acknowledgement). Third, I watched another teacher say stop it through their teeth to a child. Fourth, they told us to bring our own mat or purchase one from them... the mat we "purchased" was used by 2 other kids (you could see sharpie mark outs) and it was all torn. Also, they charge $15 supply fee monthly, random "fees" and don't provide lunch or snacks. I asked at least 4 times how my child was doing and all they said was "good". I never knew if she was eating her lunch, adjusting well, or anything. They communicated with a paper at the podium. and when I say nobody greeted us I don't expect a full conversation just a head nod, hello, a wave, anything. We went for 2 months part time and was never acknowledged AT ALL. So awful. The kids do not respect the teachers and from observation, I would say it is because the teachers and directors do not respect them or the parents. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

She has learned so much, and is smarter, stronger, and more thoughtful each day! She loves the weekly Chapel, and the curriculum! We wished we could stay here forever! The staff is so amazing, they truly love our kiddos, and recognized each of thier gifts and learning abilities. Thank you for teaching our daughter and loving her so much!

I also heard from multiple co-workers that since they did not qualify for the pre-k program at Killeen isd, they decided to place their little one in Memorial Christian Academies accredited pre-k class and seen instant learning as a result. Some of my co-workers decided to keep their children at Memorial all the way through high school, while others stated they enrolled their child in KISD for whatever reason. On both cases every single child was advanced by multiple years. With smaller class room and a curriculum like A Beka your child will be so far ahead of the curve. I am so blessed and honored to have my daughter attend Memorial and and truly thankful for the faculty and staff that help shape and mold my daughter each and everyday!

The administration changed about 2 years ago and it is sad how the school has declined in it's Christian value base. Teachers are selected off of craigs list to fill a position rather than selecting good quality staff to teach our children. The administration is more of a dictatorship than a collaborative teaching environment. When administration gets questioned the children become the victims. It is heartbreaking to watch. The staff is intimidated to the point where they don't speak up and the frustrations become evident in the classrooms. Political agendas, immigration viewpoints and even biblical challenges have found their way into the curriculum. I have talked to some of the other parents and they feel the same. Unfortunately most will not speak up publicly but it I think it is my duty as a parent and Christian to ensure that the truth is brought to light and the children left there are defended. Please do not bring your child here... it's not about the money, it is about the moral compass of the integrity of the school. If you are a current parent, please speak up... the children are counting on you. If you are looking to enroll... look deep, you will find this is not the place to keep your most precious possession safe. God Bless.

Students with disabilities and additional needs are getting a raw deal because of lack of funding, staff shortages and programming cuts. Students are being taught by volunteers and subs. This is not educating children, it's barely even babysitting. So very sad as it could be a great school, but it's being slowly killed by mismanagement, understaffing, lack of programming and teachers who are overworked, underpaid and under appreciated.

Ideally, preschool enrollment should help children prepare for kindergarten, or so I thought…read more Unfortunately, my experience with this school was a nightmare. It felt as though I had given birth to a little monster. Every day, the teacher complained about my son's behavior, saying he was running around, not sharing, jumping, and more. One day, we were asked to pick him up early, which was extremely stressful. We later met with his teacher and the principal to discuss a plan of action. Right away, I sensed an unsettling vibe from the kindergarten teacher. She claimed she was trying her best to help our son adjust, but stated that other kids also needed her attention. She also suggested we seek help from our physician regarding his behavior. Keep in mind that my son had attended daycare without any behavioral issues. My husband made an appointment with the doctor, who assured him that our son was perfectly fine and simply acting his age. While I was searching for a new school, we found one that reassured us about their staff's expertise. They informed us that their teachers had over 18 years of experience and that we wouldn't encounter the same problems we faced before. I am pleased to say they did not disappoint. My son enjoys going to school; we no longer have to bribe him. He has received a star every day for exhibiting great behavior without needing any redirection. One day, the school even allowed parents to come in and observe for a moment, and my son sat quietly like a pro. I truly believe the previous teacher was not equipped to handle kindergarten. The way she spoke about my child in front of me revealed a palpable dislike. Consequently, I removed my son from that toxic environment. Now, he is thriving in his new school, and his new teacher is wonderful!

Part of the founders and board have children that attend the school and I believe they are wholeheartedly invested in the future and direction of the Montessori. She asks to help me around the house (cooking, making her own lunch, sweeping, mopping, cleaning mirrors, watering plants, taking care of her dog and fish) At Salado Montessori, they learn through physically getting involved in the activity at hand,(everyday fundamentals like washing hands, getting dressed (my daughter learned to tie her shoes in a day), motor skills like opening and closing boxes and organizing blocks based on size, music (beat, tone, instruments), sounding out words, addition and subtraction, days of the week). She wakes up and gets dressed on her own, brushes her own teeth and takes pride in it all because it gives her a sense of accomplishment. This school is teaching her how to learn, not what to learn. Salado Montessori has created an amazing community, parents willingly volunteer their time. They periodically have volutuneer days, where the parents and children can be a part of bettering the school together (i.e.planting gardens, reorganizing the classroom). The teacher, Ms. Webb for lack of a better word, is AMAZING! She is patient, observes well and interacts without hindering the learning process. She is organized, happy and cares deeply for each individual child. She allows parents to observe the learning process throughout the school year and meets with us one on one to discuss the growth of our child. She gives ideas to me about how I can continue to foster growth throughout the home and how to speak to my daughter to further her own excitement about learning. I truly believe Ms. Webb helps my individual child grow in every aspect of her life, and is not just a teacher filling a time slot during the school day. Also, this school was one of the only schools around that allowed for a half day, full day, and before and after child care programs. I can not say enough good things about this school.
