I'm forever grateful to Susan Rogers and the entire staff at Madison at the Range for being there…read moreduring a very tragic time for our family. Our Mom suffers from Alzheimer's and Dad has been her caretaker for several years. After his accident, Mom was so lost and the task of being there for both her and Dad as we dealt with his long road to recovery while balancing our own lives and families in the mix was beyond overwhelming. You are truly our angels and am so thankful for you...you love our Mom unconditionally and strive daily to ensure she enjoys life to its fullest. Thank you Susan and Cierra Steele for the weekly pictures and invites to festivities. You will never know the peace it gives me. The staff is absolutely is absolutely amazing and takes such good care of each of their residents. When they call they always say first off "Mom is fine" and then proceed to tell me if there is something she needs or often it's a function they are inviting me to attend with her. They have went above and beyond during COVID-19 offering to Face Time, organizing a parade, making sure we have the correct address to send mail, and the list goes on! My Mom is happier than I've seen her in years and I highly recommend Madison at the Range. Teresa Rexing #madisonattherange #thankfulandblessed

Pretty on the outside - negligent on the inside…read more My mother was in the Monark Grove memory care facility from July to Nov 2023 - until we had to take her out. We had to instruct them to do simple things like: take her hearing aids out st bedtime, take her temp if you see her coughing, call the doc if she has edema, and change her sheets if she has an accident - none of these things were being done. We also found scatches on her arms which weren't being treated. I could go on. Staff appear to not have experience in a memory care facility. We found staff staring at their personal phones everytime we were there. The turnover among staff and managers is unbelievable. Maybe this is just the typical standard of care for this corp. She has been in another facility for 6+ months and the difference is night and day. Observing the staff in the new facility has shown us that Monsrk Grove is not just poorly run, but likely on their way to be investigated by the state.

We never had to worry that she was being taken care of. From Mary Overton, the facility admissions director to everyone from the aides, CNAs, nurses, and maintenance we were very satisfied with her care. She was treated with love and dignity in her last days.

She had never been combative EVER until she was constantly being awakend for vital checks, breathing treatments, etc. After 22 days, she was admitted to Madison Manor. I had requested several times that she be reduced on this medicine to at least half the dosage. That never happened. According to WebMD, Seroquel (quetiapine) is an atypical antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and sometimes major depression. It functions by balancing neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, frequently causing sedation, dizziness, and weight gain. Key precautions include increased risk of death in elderly dementia patients, suicide risk in young adults, and potential metabolic changes. As far as I can see, my mother was given this drug because the Decatur Hospital staff and the Madison Manor staff found it an easy way to deal with patients that are not cooperating with their rough treatment. Mom had to be hospitalized at Madison Hospital for a hernia repair just last week. I told the hospital nurse that I want to get her off Seroquel. It finally happened when her attending doctor listened and got her off this unnecessary drug. She is now at home and returning to her normal, sweet disposition. I also found that she had a yeast infection which was pretty severe - from not being treated at Madison Manor.

A lot of your loved one's care has to do with you. Do you show up? Do you visit your loved one? I know not everyone can due to being remotely located. This facility loves my Mom and loves her well. They delight in getting her ready for a joyride (thanks Serea), and the staff are so engaged with mom they can't wait to tell my family and me what she's been up to (both good and bad). I have one of their fabulous nurses on text message and can get any information I need about Mom in an instant. They are so responsive and so loving. I highly recommend Grandview Gardens for your loved one's memory care needs and Redstone Village for assisted living. Some advice: be present if possible and be active in your loved one's care this goes a long way. Both Redstone Village proper and Grandview Gardens have kept mom happy and healthy for around 7 years! Thanks so much! This facility is clean and updated and full of activities but If your loved one doesn't want to participate, they willingly go the extra mile to ensure their needs are met, for example, making sandwiches for mom who slept through dinner and didn't eat. This is the type of facility you do not dread visiting. Please consider Redstone Village. It is an entire life span facility from freestanding homes where you have a beautiful view and can drive your car or golf cart to dining or exercise or swimming facilities to assisted living again with beautiful views, to memory care with ample activities, including day trips to local strawberry picking and restaurants to hospice. Redstone Village is the real deal and my family and I are so grateful Mom is enjoying her 88th year on the planet here. My family have visited other facilities in Madison county and mom lived in one for about a year. Redstone Village eclipses all of them in terms of compassionate care, consistent rule following and generally loving what they do. Almost no personnel turnover. For peace of mind do consider RV and GG.

I wanted a facility that offered both independent and assisted-living as well as a memory care unit to ensure that all my future needs would be adequately met. Redstone Village, nestled up on a hill surrounded by mature trees and beautiful gardens, has exceeded my expectations. The staff has been most helpful in guiding me throughout the process from my initial visit to moving in, which has made the entire move less stressful. I have found my neighbors to be very warm and welcoming. Daily opportunities from exercise to pleasant social events, good food and shopping close by makes for ideal senior living. SB

My review was in January and I actually went and stayed at my mothers place with her for 9 days in…read moreMarch. I ate there every day and I first hand witnessed how terrible the food was and some of it was so salty we were unable to eat it. The food came to us cold at many meals and the office financial director had to serve food and help cook because the kitchen staff was short. Also I was concerned about the doors being dead bolted as one of the residents told me that the fire marshal gave the facility a fine because he could not access the building because it was dead bolted at night. Also she mentioned that they are still trying to find a director of culinary . They have gone though about 5 cooks . The Main Director has been out of the office sick leave since December so there is no one to complain to and the Headquarters Regional director never gets back to me with a solution. I asked about 10 people in the dining room and they all said the food was terrible. I only witnessed about about 12 to 15 people who eat in the dining room at any given meal. At breakfast they were out of toast for several days. The only think really that tasted good on the menu was the hamburgers and one day the soup was good. The grilled cheese looked like plastic and 1/2 was missing cheese! If you want to know what this place is like, i suggest make a surprise visit to the dining room and ask several of the people who live there. several of the waiters and waitresses are extremely friendly and some of them are extremely rude. the front desk lady is not friendly at all. The head of activities Laloni is extremely nice and compassionate and caring, she even came to visit my mother in the hospital. None of the managment at Vitality even checked on my mother while she was in the hospital for 3 months and they all had my number and knew she was in the hospital. While i was visiting for 9 days , no one came to clean the room. I spoke with houskeeping and they did come clean the next week but that was the first time they really cleaned, and my mother was paying someone to come clean her room which is unacceptable since she is paying vitality for that included service,. April 24th Vitality managment finally came to my mothers door to apologize for the bad overall service.
