It has not healed in weeks. They insisted I come in to the store to inspect in person , which I did. In spite of that they have the audacity to say I "believe" there was a reaction. This shows how sensitive they are to their customers. If they really care about the customer service, then refund me my money. Do they really think I would come back to this place for waxing after the experience I've had. This should tell people how this place cares about their customers. I have been requesting them for a refund but they kept telling me no and "do whatever you need to" which has forced me to put this review. If you need anymore evidence, checkout other reviews on Yelp and Google about this place. Each time a customer has not had a good experience, instead of accepting and fixing it, they have instead framed the customer as being wrong. ------------------------ Original Review Be very careful if you're considering laser hair removal at this place. I am beyond disappointed and furious with my laser hair removal experience at Dare to Be Bare in Hartsdale! I went in for a laser hair removal treatment that left me with severe burns and discoloration--weeks later, I'm still healing, both physically and emotionally. The technician never fully explained the potential risks or complications and instead kept assuring me that the treatment was safe and effective for my skin type, claiming most clients see little to no hair regrowth after completing their sessions. During the treatment, I experienced intense burning and pain, which I voiced immediately. I was told, "Your skin doesn't feel hot, so you're fine." That couldn't have been more wrong. I followed all aftercare instructions as provided, but just days later, my skin turned very dark and visibly burned. When I reached out to the owner to request a refund, not only did she dismissed my injuries, but she also refused to take any accountability. I received zero support, no empathy, and no refund--just a cold response that this was a "normal skin reaction" and I should have read the contract. I trusted this place with my skin and relied on their professional guidance. Instead, I was left with lasting damage and no sense of responsibility from their side. I do not recommend Dare To Be Bare in Hartsdale to anyone. Please do your homework before undergoing any laser treatments. Ask questions, understand the risks, and don't just take someone's word for it.

I was psyched to learn they offer YAG lasers, that work very well in pigmented skin. I happily began my treatments and shortly found out I was pregnant. I had to stop my treatments during pregnancy, after pregnancy (due to breastfeeding), and then COVID came through with a vengeance. During those years, I called up once or twice, inquiring about my account, trying to make sure it was still active and in good standing. I was always assured that everything was fine but I was still worried that too much time would pass, deeming my account inaccessible. Several years later, I was finally ready to restart my sessions but I was worried that I lost my GC balance and the balance from the complimentary sessions. I finally worked up the nerve to call and make an appointment. I initially started my sessions in the city, off of Lexington. It was very difficult for me to get down there and parking was horrible. I found out that they opened a location closer to my residence, so when I called to reinstate my treatments, I inquired about switch my base location. They normally don't do that, but the woman with whom I spoke, was kind enough to make an exception. I truly appreciated it. I started visiting the White Plains location and have been very happy. I usually work with either Pamela or Zelia, and they're both really exceptional. I've seen a huge difference from when I first started. I dont need to shave, even when some hairs sports up, as they are now much finer and less visible. Satori offers seasonal sales that are very reasonable. So far, I've completed underarms, lower legs, half arms, upper lip and bikini plus. I'm soooo happy with my results. Darkening of my bikini line and underarms have significantly lightened with the laser treatments, coupled with a better skincare maintenance (routine exfoliating, glycolic acid, ect). Be advised not to use tretinoin, have direct sunlight exposure, or exfoliate, too soon before or after your sessions. It's best to let your tech know what you're doing because it's not worth damaging your skin. They are very knowledgeable and will instruct you of what you should be doing, and when. My sessions are pretty spaced out, to about 2-3 months and I be able to drop down to twice a year visits very soon. Ditch your razor and get that laser! (motto copyrighted lol)

This was by far the WORST experience with eyelashes I've ever had. It's been two weeks and all of my lashes have fallen out. However, I did notice they were uneven -- the right side had way more lashes than the left. I then noticed they continued to fall out all week. Nobody, not even my sisters noticed I had gotten my lashes done and the whole point of getting lashes is for a noticeable difference! $180 for what?! Also, the technician had her hands all over my face and nose the entire time. They were heavy on my forehead and thankfully I don't have sensitive skin but if I did I could've broken out. When working on my left eye, she kept pushing down on one of my nostrils, blocking it and I have a sensitive nose so that was frustrating!! I've never experienced this before and it was so uncomfortable and felt like this was very new to her. I've been getting my lashes done frequently for the past 3 years. I take care of my lashes and brush them so they last long. I always go to Lash Loft in the city because it was near my office but wanted to try somewhere closer to home since my office moved locations. I've paid the same price for lashes that look even, full, and last over a month because that's what it should be like. Such a waste of money and soooo disappointed. I have been coming here for about 6 months now for eyebrow threading. I really appreciated how she took her time to go over each part in detail and show me in the mirror what she was doing. She also evened out my brows since one had started growing higher than the other, making them look uneven! Since that first visit, I come by every 4-5 weeks for maintenance on my brows. It's generally a quick visit, maybe 15-20 minutes, and I leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. The salon itself is very nice.
