I visited this urgent care on a Friday due to a serious issue -- visible blood in my urine. They collected a urine sample and prescribed an antibiotic, saying results would be ready in 1-2 days. Nearly a week later, I still hadn't heard back, so I followed up myself. The receptionist, who was both unprofessional and clearly unqualified to discuss medical issues, informed me the results "just came in" and proceeded to read them to me over the phone without any explanation or medical context. When I said my condition had worsened, she casually told me to keep taking the antibiotic. I asked to speak with a nurse -- I was told someone would call me. Hours later, I heard back from the same receptionist, not a nurse, who said they had called in a new antibiotic, again offering no explanation of what it was, why it was prescribed, or how it would help. They also sent it to the wrong pharmacy. It's important to note that receptionists are not medically licensed and should not be discussing or interpreting lab results, giving advice about prescriptions, or handling patient care decisions. This is not only completely unprofessional, but also potentially a violation of patient privacy laws and medical standards. This experience left me confused, untreated, and in tears during my workday. I strongly urge others to seek care from a facility with competent medical staff and proper patient communication. When you have an 85-year-old who needs a wheelchair because you believe they have broken their collarbone and they tell you that they have to walk into the clinic that seems a bit ridiculous. I had called ahead to ensure that the insurance would not be a problem, I had also checked to make certain that they actually had an x-ray machine on hand. Got to the door and found out that there was an additional problem in that walking through the door of the clinic is a requirement. Ridiculous. We actually went to a real doctor. Went in at 4:30 on Sunday ho have my finger looked at to see if I needed stitches in a wound that was ripped open. The receptionist said they didn't do stitches and I should go down to Nextcare down the street. When I asked if I could get it evaluated she said that wouldn't be possible. I'm leaving one star, only because I cannot leave zero. I took my husband in to have a doctor (or anyone) listen to his chest. Our GP diagnosed him with the flu a few days ago. As a precaution, after two days on Tamiflu, I wanted his chest looked at. I tried to reserve my place in line online--that didn't work. I called to get us on the list, and was told to wait an hour, then head their way. After over an hour in the waiting room, we were finally moved to an exam room, where we waited for another HOUR. My husband was tired and irritated over the whole thing, so we left. The staff seemed genuinely confused as to why we would leave. I'm still shaking my head over this. I would honestly take my chances with a wait at the ER, before I would ever go back to this place. read more

We were in Texas visiting friends prior to our international flight. We were required to get a covid test before boarding and the crew here was nothing less than spectacular. If i could leave 0 stars i would. Not only was the doctor very RUDE to my son and myself once she finally got in the room an hour later, but after she left the room we heard her YELL in the hallway for everyone to hear(our door was closed) , including other patients and staff, there were several in rooms, "i just love when a patient knows what they want ". I was appalled, my son was appalled. Let's not even discuss what her notes said for discharge paperwork(insert eye roll) . We we're nothing but respectful to her even when she gave attitude. Then she sent in the wrong prescription dose to the pharmacy, (2 pills instead of the full dose of 6 pills) luckily i knew the actual duration for the antibiotic and after 2 days and 20 calls later to this office and various pharmacies i ended up paying full price for the rest of the script (Becauee insurance wouldn't cover it after receiving the first two pills separately) so my son could finish it out. I will never go back and i would never recommend to anyone to go here. The nursing staff was very nice and so was the front office staff, and the facility was clean, but I've never in all my years come across such an UNPROFESSIONAL doctor. Not to mention a night mare just to get the one medication my son needed to get better.(MOM was RIGHT and it was the medication he needed to get better). read more

I took my husband to CareNow at 7:30 pm, thought he was having a reaction to some medication he was using. They reacted quickly, efficiently, taking down necessary info and proceeding to exam him. The staff were well informed and made an immediate response that he was not having a severe life threatening situation. As it was getting late and pharmacy's in the area were closing it was determined a steroid shot would be the best solution. It was 8:30 by the time we were on our way home, long past closing time. Didn't realize until later that they were connected to Conroe Regional, that was a good thing for us. My husband had just had 2 back surgeries there and rehab. Knowing they are close to our house gives me the information that next time that is where we will go to be treated. read more

Problems with receptionist--and many more problems reported (see below) Went for treatment at Carenow Urgent Care in Montgomery and I'm on Medicare but couldn't find the card. I can log into Medicare and show I am eligible but receptionist refused me saying, "I need to see the front and back of the card." The Medicare/SS website says, "use this as your authorization for service until your new card arrives" and shows an authorization letter. Replacement cards take 30 days to receive. In today's electronic age, her response was idiotic. We went to another clinic and they didn't need to see the card at all. They asked for my Medicare number and input it into the computer and I was instantly approved. The clinic was empty and the receptionist was rude and short. I will post this review to NEXTDOOR and let my 9000 neighbors know what shoddy service I received. Update: Since posting on Nextdoor, several neighbors have come back with similar negative experiences: 1. I went there several months ago and barely got my foot in the door. The receptionist told my they couldn't take my insurance because there was something hand written in the card. HOWEVER, a couple of weeks later I got an EOB from my insurance company that they had filed a $140 claim for my visit. Ugh! I called my insurance company just in time. They were sending a check to them that day. I was able to stop the check going to them but never got an answer from the clinic as to why they filed! Beware! Keep and eye on your EOBs. 2. Funny i tried them a year ago and they immediately asked what insurance I had (united health care) she was very quick to respond we don't take it. You better go somewhere else! 3. Same thing! I went in early spring when I fractured my ankle... no one there, in pain, took an hour. They charged me $400 & I told them it should be a co pay of $40. Took months to clear up. I finally called my cc co & let them handle it. 4. Yes I agree with you, I went there 3 weeks ago and they were empty no customers, but I had to wait forever in order to see a doctor...not going back. 5. I went through the channels, mgr, supervisor who traveled to different locations & was difficult to reach. They would not call me back. Finally received refund after showing cc co what our ins covered. It was a hassle. 6. Carenow Urgent Care in Montgomery, has no sense of urgency, at all and awful bed side manner. My husband got stitches and they charged him $400. I've had multiple friends have different experiences with them, as well... 100% TERRIBLE!!! That place should be shut down... I will NEVER go there and neither will my friends! We use the NextLevel urgent care off of 3083, on the way to 45, from 105W. You get great care and the very most it could cost you, $225. My husband broke his toe and we paid $180 for the visit, xrays, etc. 7. It's as if they don't want to see patients. I was told as well that they don't take my insurance and should go elsewhere, even though they are listed plain as day on the preferred provider list of my insurance (Aetna). 8. I'm not a fan either. I knew my blood pressure was elevated and I went there just for them to check it. They wanted to charge me a visit just to check my pressure. 7/7/2018 I went in for allergies to get some medications to help with the problem. 7/10/2018. I returned to see if they could prescribe a different medication since what they had prescribed was not working. Get this they refused to see me! Why because I used my driver's license same one I used 2 days before which was cut on the corner due to change of address. Refused to see me due to my license, they don't follow the rules of the state so should be fined or shut down Attitude of the receptionist was disgusting and very rude person. read more

The staff at CareNow in Montgomery is awesome!! Joe, FNP took his time and is very thorough. I am very impressed! Tangie, MA is super friendly and funny! Sebrennia, Center Manager (also works in lab/x-ray & front desk) is super friendly, too. They all had a smile on their face and are genuine. They all seem to care, and that makes all the difference in the world. The facility is clean. I highly recommend this location. It's great to have a place like this to go when you're sick. I've been to places where I didn't like the staff, so I drove 30 minutes out of the way to find thorough, caring people. I live 5 minutes or so from this location, and I will go back because of the awesome staff!! read more

I reviewed this establishment back in July. They must have taken it down, but I want to follow up with a second review. Previously, to explain, I went in there to get meds for a sinus infection. However due to the sinus infection I had an extremely high heart rate. After taking my pulse and my blood pressure, which I do four times each day, no big deal, they asked if I knew my heart rate was extremely high. Yes I did. The nurse, I assume, told me the doctor refused to treat me due to the heart rate, and to go to the emergency room. Stupidly I was honest and said that was not going to happen, insurance does not pay.. Never be honest just say you will go whether you will or will not. I explained I understood they did not want the liability and that was why they wanted me to sign a statement saying I had refused to go to the emergency room. They charged me over $160 for taking my BP, pulse and telling me to go to the emergency room. Therefore spilled my guts on my previous review, told the whole story, and they contacted me. The next week I got a call from the office manager and explained step by step what took place and that I totally understood they did not want the liability, etc. but that charging me over $160 for nothing was unfair and I would appreciate At least part of my money back. She said it would be reviewed and she would get back with me. Might take a couple of weeks, but she or someone would get in touch. A WEEK LATER I HAD A FULL REFUND. Thank you very much! They have the worst service when you walk in the door. I was told I had a rotator cuff injury Saturday evening and given medication that did little to help. I was also told they would refer me to an orthopedic which they did not. When I returned Tuesday I was told they would not see me and they listed my injury as a shoulder sprain, which it is not. I would take a sick animal to this clinic. They are extremely rude, disrespectful and not friends with the truth. read more

My husband and I went to CareNow after suffering with a severe cold for a week and taking every OTC medication we could with no relief. My husband was on the verge of pneumonia and we were both seen very quickly and prescribed medication that immediately started to relieve the symptoms. The staff was very professional and thorough. Be very careful with anything you do here. We were given a form at check-in that indicated per our insurance our copay was $40 which we already were aware of. The receptionist said there COULD be additional charges for things not covered by our insurance such as injections. We get taken back to the exam room, my husband explains his symptoms to the nurse (vomiting, stomach cramps, diarrhea, chills, no fever and we just got back from Mexico last night). The nurse says he needs to do a flu test, no mention AT ALL that this test was not covered by our copay before the nurse swabbed each of his nostrils. The Dr then comes in, my husband explains all the symptoms to him and the Dr says (before we even get the results back from the flu test) that he doubts that it is the flu...sounds like travelers diarrhea. Dr was correct, tested negative for flu. We go to check out and we are informed that we owe $140 for the visit as the flu test was $50 PER NOSTRIL. The more I think about this, the angrier I get...why did the nurse tell us he needed a flu test before the Dr even saw him?? Why did the nurse not inform us that this was one of the test that is not covered by the copay so that we could decide whether or not to do it prior to seeing the DSo disgusted with this place...the billing is shady and a huge scam as any other urgent care I've been to I've never once paid more than my $40 copay for anything done. I myself went to an urgent care in a different state a year ago and before giving me IV fluids they informed me that it would be extra and gave me the opportunity to decline in the exam room so you can't tell me that the staff isn't aware of what test are extra...seems they are just trained to present them as things that are not an option and do not cost extra. Will never be going here again, nor will I ever recommend Care Now to anyone. 11/12/2018 - We were able to speak with our insurance today and, yes, Care Now blatantly overcharged us $100...now the fun and run around begins trying to get our money back. The only way the flu test or any other tests for that matter should have been an additional charge is if they had to send it out for testing, but since they test it right there and get results right there, it was included in our $40 copay. SCAMMERS 11/12/2018 - Just received a call from the center manager apologizing profusely for the way this has been handled thus far. Hoping this gets resolved sooner than later. This was my second urgent visit, as my primary care doc couldn't get me in for a few days. Ryan, the receptionist, greeted me and we talked as if we have been friends for years. Dr. Patronely addressed my sinus issues promptly , and with her reassuring confidence, assured me the seasons will change and I will get better. Wink wink. I am writing this review of my appointment on 2-14-18 at the Montgomery Tx office. I came in with severe earache. I saw a dr. who I can't remember his name and he wore no name tag. I was diagnosed with sinus infection. My sister and I were leaving the "nurse" again no name tag told us we couldn't leave without paying a bill of $20.00 that hadn't been paid! Excuse me I can't leave what's this all about? You're telling me I can't leave because of a bill I didn't know I had! I have been to this clinic at least 3 times and have never had a bill! So called nurse gets office manager to come out. She proceeds to tell me two previous bills had been paid for August and September I believe. The rudeness of these two people was not warranted. I come to this location because of Dr. Patrinely! She is the best Dr. I was told that's who I would be seeing well that didn't happen! I will be telling my family and friends not to go to this location no matter the illness! I doubt anyone from CareNow will see this or any appropriate action will be taken regarding the rudeness behavior of staff! read more

I received good care at the office in Montgomery Tx, no complaint about that. But the doctor only spent 5 minutes with me and there were no tests run; no procedures done. She listened to my symptoms and my lungs. Today I received a bill for $250.00. I called the service line on the bill and let them know I am not going to pay it. The rationale I got for this exorbitant rate(which they refer to as 'a little more') was that they have longer hours than most regular docs and that they are 'urgent care'. First of all this isn't a little more. It's about 5 times what a normal office visit would cost. I only went in for respiratory tract infection. Not exactly an emergency. And it was the middle of the day, not midnight. Had anyone mentioned this rediculous office visit fee I would have walked out. At the time I only had Medicare part A which I knew would not cover this. But they insisted on billing it anyway and of course were rejected. Beware. If you have no insurance; or your insurance does not cover this type of visit. It's sky high. My bill can and will go to 'collections'. And they can "collection" it til they are blue in the face. These fees need to be posted in the waiting room. I'm not paying. And I will never do business with them again. read more
