Avoid at all costs. Unfortunately our experience ended extremely badly. The packing of our late Mother's treasured belongings was so dreadful, that many of the antiques, art and valuables were destroyed or irreparably damaged. It was an altogether heartbreaking experience. No care or respect was shown for any of the things entrusted to their care. So sad. read more

We had an incredibly disappointing experience with Careline in relation to the transport of our personal belongings from Spain to Ireland. Both the transportation service itself, and the customer care received post-delivery, was very poor. I arranged for my belongings to be transported from Spain to Ireland. This included two BBQ's, an office desk and chair and a dressing table and chair, as well as numerous boxes of clothing and kitchenware. I chose Careline for the transportation service as I was keen to support an Irish business on my return to Ireland. The items were collected from Spain on 6th November and I was contacted on 15th November to arrange delivery to my home in Ireland on 19th November. The delivery team were very helpful but they had identified that of the two pallets being delivered, there had been an issue with one pallet which resulted in damage to our belongings. The delivery team took pictures of the damage identified and confirmed this would form part of a report to be provided to us. The issues identified were as follows; 1. The legs on our dressing table were broken and the table had been scratched 2. One of our boxes of clothing had significant water damage and was open on delivery 3. The office chair was saturated with water 4. Both BBQ's had been damaged beyond repair (our Kamado Joe ceramic BBQ was smashed to pieces and attempts had been made to sellotape the pieces back together and the Weber BBQ was entirely misshapen) The delivery team confirmed that we should have received a report the day before the delivery to notify us of the damage caused and with pictures and an explanation for same, but this was not received. I immediately reached out to Careline and the level of service received from this point onwards was terrible. I was not provided with any report outlining the issues with my belongings, any pictures of the damage caused, or any information about what occurred during the transport process which led to the extensive damage. I requested this information on numerous occasions and received very vague and non-committal responses from Careline. Careline were solely focused on submitting an insurance claim against the damage. I reiterated on numerous occasions that this could not be completed until I had a full report of the damage caused and pictures to support the claim. Notwithstanding this, Careline submitted a partially completed insurance claim without my consent. After numerous attempts to obtain additional information on the circumstances surrounding my items and a request for a partial refund of the significant amount paid (c. €2,800) given the poor quality of services received, I requested a call from the Managing Director. I subsequently received a call from Kevin Carey who acknowledged that the service provided had been below Careline's usual standards (as had been accepted by Careline in numerous emails previously). Kevin further confirmed that we should be entitled to fully reclaim the cost of the damaged items under an insurance claim and that he would discuss internally regarding a refund of the fees we paid. Ultimately, following extensive back and forth with both the insurance claims agents and Careline, the insurance claim is covering 2/3rds of the cost to replace the damaged items and Careline have only offered a 'goodwill gesture' of €200 against the fees paid. This means that we have not been made whole as a result of the poor service provided by Careline and, despite accepting that the services provided were below par, they have offered less than a 10% refund of the fees paid. We allowed Careline plenty of opportunities to provide a reasonable resolution to this issue but I have now come to the end of the road and am entirely dissatisfied. We therefore thought it was important to forego the €200 'goodwill gesture' and write this review so hopefully other customers can take this into account when considering engaging Careline for transportation services. read more

We lost many things, a lot of money and a lot of time because of Careline International. We moved cross-country within Europe, and upon pick up of our shipment, everything seemed smooth and easy. They were going to repack some items and help us pack paintings, bikes and other larger items. The weeks went by...with no shipment in sight. Our main point of contact is not interested in helping and insists on telling us how much we are making them work on their vacation - we are clients paying for a service and are asking for a status update when the shipment of our home is not arriving around the date they committed to. Also, pass us on to a colleague, then? Eventually we got help, and got a date promised for delivery for our shipment...three-four weeks later than agreed. On the day of the shipment, they lost track of our entire home - they were not able to locate our shipment?! Late the same evening they figure it out; they mixed our shipment up with one that was supposed to go to the other side of the country. Now we are worried, to say the least. The day after, they arrive with our shipment and stress us through the process of signing that the delivery has happened - we never signed for the items, as the delivery personnel could not stay for long enough for us to do that. We look through all of the boxes, and cross-check the items in them to do our due diligence (because of them re-packing and packing some of our things more boxes arrived than sent), and several boxes were missing with both expensive and sentimental value. We paid for insurance, and our point of contact confirmed we were following the rules of procedure, but, more than two months into this process, they revert back with false claims and are not able to help. In other words, we were fighting a losing battle from the day we paid them to ship our things. I would strongly advise you to not make the same mistake as we did, by hiring their lack of service. read more

DISGRACEFUL service would NOT recommend or use again. Shipped our household items to N America, we shipped early and were promised the goods would be received by mid August. Its near the end of September now and they are still not here. This has led us to buying practically what we shipped, the essentials, this has made the move a lot more costly. Numerous times we were assured that the items would be received mid August, we Shipped mid July. I contacted them 10th Sept to inquire, it took 6 emails to get a response, I got a response saying the items were shipped and got the ship name, when I looked up the ship location online it hadnt left Ireland on the date they said which meant our belongings were sitting in a warehouse in Dublin from mid July to mid september not even moving. They wont make replies, finally got a reply tonight with no apology and basically stated they were not taking any ownership for the delay and that this is normal practice. I have tried to reason with them considering the severe circumstances we have been placed under as a result. Would not recommend to anyone! read more

Terrible Company to deal with. I sold my house before going travelling so most of my things were put into storage. When the truck came there was no crate inside so therefore everything had to be loaded by hand and again unloaded by hand at the depot before been put in the storage crate. Our furnture and belongings were in storage for about 1 year. When we went to get our things back we discovered things were damaged and things had been stolen! About €3500 worth of items were stolen. I would never touch Careline again. Firstly they underestimated the quantity of our consignment for our move from Ireland to Sweden. We ended up paying 20% extra than we had agreed with them. We had also paid for a container to come to our house but instead a truck arrived which meant a transhipment of our goods which caused damage to some of them when they were eventually transferred to the container we'd paid for. Then, having accepted our plants (and in accordance with their publicity that they happily accept plants) they refused to ship them onwards from their Dublin warehouse. We have lost expensive plants and plantpots. Although we paid them for unpacking service and disposal of wrapping at destination, one person came to do this for 5 hours leaving us to empty most of our 300 cartons and take our own packing material to the dump. They really ripped us off and are not taking responsibility for the lost plants nor are interested in refunding the money we paid for them to unpack which we did ourselves. Careline Moving and Storage are an absolute nightmare. I was charged for services I did not receive, paid for materials I did not receive, paid for insurance that Careline voided by the wording on the manifest, given advice to ship items illegally to avoid taxes, and charged for a week's worth of storage and demurrage fees because my container was not picked up when it cleared Customs. Careline's policy seems to be to simply ignore clients once they have your money. Don't be fooled by reviews on their own pages, including FB as they delete anything negative. Search outside sources for accurate assessments of them. Search FB for the Community "Careline Moving and Storage are Dishonest" for my full experience with this horrible company. Same bad experience as John. I moved from Dublin to California, USA and i've been told the shipment will take 6-8 weeks maximum. I emailed several times but no reply. Finally I found out the shipment was delayed and it actually arrived 4 MONTHS!!!! after being picked up at our location in Dublin. What a hassle - i had to live 4 months out of 2 suitcases!!??Would definitely NOT recommenend! read more

Absolutely disgraceful service! We placed our order at the beginning of June. Sales representative- son of the owner of the company assured us that our stuff will arrive in Cyprus in 3 weeks. Of course it didn't happen! We called helpline- lady said it will arrive in next 2 weeks. We asked why there is a delay and we have discovered that it hasn't been even shipped from Irl yet! We waited another 2 weeks- and of course nothing is happening! No contact with sales guy- of course he is never available! And lady from help line keeps saying she calls back! Hi John M, Just sitting here googleing some headings when I came across you comment regarding Careline Dublin. I can only share my experience of Careline two months ago. My husband, myself and our three kids had to leave Ireland, like a lot of others, due to the economic downturn. We moved to Adelaide but prior to moving we researched several moving companies. We finally made contact with Careline and spoke to a lovely girl there who came and spoke to us. We had never done this type of thing before but when we met with the Careline representative we immediately had confidence and faith. To cut a long story short we shipped our possessions our life in fact with Careline and had no issues. They did say that the time it would take to Adelaide would be longer than normal as the sheer amount of people that were leaving Ireland was incredible (not a great omen for the future). To finish sorry to have read your story but my experience was the complete opposite and I WOULD recommend (and have done) Careline to anyone leaving my native land of Ireland for a new life abroad. read more

Do NOT use Careline if you want your belongings to arrive in one piece and be looked after by staff who care about their jobs. I hired the company to move my belongings from London back to a storage unit in Dublin I was told by the storage company that they were 'in and out in less than an hour' which did concern me but I thought they are professionals (I said I thought they were!) and they can probably do the job quickly while taking care or in other words doing a proper job. I was still in London at the time of the removal but when I returned to Dublin and went to the storage unit I was very dismayed at the shoddy way they had literally thrown my belongings in to the unit (a 50 sq. ft.). They had room in the unit to load furniture properly with adequate space but they leant furniture against each other causing damage to the furniture. A wardrobe leg had been torn off leaving a gaping hole in the bottom of wardrobe and the back of the wardrobe had come away. Chest of drawers was damaged as was a desk. They also left a heavy suitcase on top of a glass table which thankfully hadn't shattered. But I had to spend 3 hours rearranging the storage unit to my satisfaction. I paid almost a €1000 for the service which was not cheap. I put in a claim where I actually underestimated the value of items (my fault!) and was given a very poor compensation - €140!!! I really feel I should have been given at least half the money I paid for the crap service back out of goodwill alone. They weren't very pleasant to deal with at HQ either. I felt like I was a thorn in their side. Very disappointing. I got my belongings shipped over by Irish Removals a few years ago and they were excellent. They did quote a higher amount than Careline for shipping them back (had gone up in the 3 years) but it would have been worth paying the higher amount for a much higher quality service. I am only able to write this review now, almost six months later. Please please do not hire this company. read more

For my move from Ireland to Australia, I went with Careline even thought they were a bit more expensive than others. I asked for my very precious items (such as my great grandmother's crystal vase that she got for her 21st birthday) to be professionally packed. When my goods were delivered in Australia, I was horrified to see that these items were wrapped in just paper and put in a box way too big for them, so unsurprisingly there were breakages. I was also charged for a crate for my artworks which was never used. My insurance paperwork was finalised in July, having been mislaid by Careline when I sent it in February. I was informed that i will be receiving reimbursement and since then, I have heard nothing and get no response to my emails. Don't even consider them! read more
