We have had a great experience with Tania Mauro as our experienced sales person at Carefree RV. Lots of great info as we weren't sure of which type of RV we were wanting. She was very patient and no pressure sales at all. Did lots of research and looking around after deciding to go back to Carefree and check out the trailer that suited us. Tania met us out at the Leduc lot on her day off to show us a trailer and we decided on our purchase. Picked up our new trailer yesterday and very excited about going on our first adventure. Also, June a wonderful woman did our walk through and showed us all the details of operation and features along with some great advice! Buyer Beware, after the sale you are on your own with a garbage product. Absolute worst customer experience with service and warranty! Of course sales was a breeze but after having nothing but a nightmare of issues with our brand new camper they took it for over two months and did only the bare minimum of repairs after saying "don't worry, it's all under warranty" to our initial complaints. We thought we had done our research on a well built product but with no quality control and a refusal to stand by the product leaves customers with a pile of expensive junk. I'm not sure how they sleep at night but the shop foreman even told my husband "yeah none of us own new campers. They are garbage". read more

Stay away. Left our upscale RV here for them to sell summer of 2019. We told them what we wanted from the sale and whatever was over and above was theirs. They put the price up 100,000 more than our payout. We truly believe this was their strategy to sell their new units by comparing them to our over-priced one. Carefree dropped the ball at every turn beginning with notifying us of a water leak and agreeing to fix it but not fixing it. Leak remained for one whole month before we were notified again that there was a leak and that the first repair was not undertaken. Then just before our departure date of Oct 21st and coming to pick up our RV to head south for the winter, we received an email Oct 16 that our motorhome has been damaged by one of Carefree's employees which will require repair and paint to the tune of $6000. Not sure when this damage occurred, but Carefree again dropped the ball by not phoning us immediately and telling us directly rather than by email. When we followed up regarding the damages, we were told that it would take 10 days for the part to come in following which it would be repaired and painted. After waiting more than 10 days, we checked with Carefree on progress of repairs only to learn that the part hadn't even been ordered until day after we checked, ie Friday November 1, which cost us another almost 3 weeks delay. At the very least, at this point Carefree should have air shipped the part rather than delaying us further, but no, they shipped by truck which was due to arrive IN CALGARY on Monday, November 11, and shipped to Carefree in Edmonton from there, arriving who knows when. Then CAREFREE did an about face, said they wouldn't be handling the repairs, at which point we contacted our insurance co. who allowed us to undergo repairs in the US so that we could proceed without further delay. Carefree's insurance were liable for all repairs. A couple years later we discovered that they were still advertising our unit for sale on their website so we immediately told them to remove it. Well lo and behold, as of this very date, it is still on their website showing as SOLD which is totally deceptive as no, it was never sold, and especially by them. Also, while in their possession, a shelf went missing out of our RV which leads us to believe they were allowing customers free access to our coach unaccompanied by a salesperson. Thankfully nothing else went missing. read more

it's not a good morning. feb 28 2024 i traded my jamboree class c motorhome for a grey hawk jayco. i was told it was sold to me with an inspection on it? being health problems i didnt check a few things,like the generator,it now has been checked by 3 different mechanics to no avail to get it running. when i said i wanted to look at this 2005 unit? it was a their outlet in edmonton. i said i dont drive in edmonton,so they brought it out to their outlet in leduc is where i made the deal to trade. now i cant drop this peace of junk of in leduc ,i am supposed to take it into edmonton. i simply refuse? read more

This is an update to my original rating. Yesterday I phoned Carefree RV to report that I'm 3 hours away, towing my trailer home from a camping trip and discovered that I have no taillights. Fortunately it doesn't get dark until late but its rained daily so taillights are critical for safety (my brake and signal lights still worked). The service person I spoke to seemed uncertain about what to do but she advised me they are now booking for the end of July (I phoned them on the 9th). I said this should be a quick and easy repair so I'd like to at least bring omy trailer in so that a technician could establish if it's the truck or trailer that is causing this problem. I also reminded her that we bought the unit there about a year ago. She said she'll ask a technician about it and get right back to me. We waited for a while but it was approaching closing time so I was concerned that we wouldn't hear back today. I phoned back and spoke to someone else who said he will ask her to call me back. In about 15 minutes she did call back and promptly advised me that my warranty expired yesterday. Her tone implied that this was the end of the matter. I said it has to be fixed and again said I wanted to bring it in so it can be checked. She said the technicians have left so she will talk to one of them and call me back first thing in the morning. Upon arriving home I set my alarm so that I would be alert when they called. I waited from 8:30 to after 10:00 and received no call. I phoned and asked to speak to service. I got voice mail. In an hour I phoned back and again was directed go voice mail. Ten minutes later I phoned and asked to speak to the owner but was told he wouldn't be in. I was offered the Manager of Operations whose name is Darcy. I agreed. After about an hour I decided to call the Ford dealer where I bought my vehicle and explained my problem. Sara at Sherwood Ford said sure come right down and they'll have someone look at the trailer connection on the vehicle so I could at least rule it out. I drove to Sherwood Ford and their technician found and replaced at burnt out fuse. He said there must be something wrong with the trailer to have caused this they didn't charge me anything and it only took ten minutes as I expected. On my way home I discovered that Darcy at Carefree had called and left a message. I don't know how I missed the call but it was probably while I was talking to the mechanic at Sherwood Ford. I phoned him back and left another voice mail to explain that Ford fixed the issue but there's still likely a problem with the trailer and emphasized that this is a safety issue! It's now 8:00 pm and I haven't heard back from either Darcy or the service department at Carefree RV. So would I recommend Carefree RV to anyone? Certainly not. This is no way to treat a customer that spent over $30k there last year. I've dealt with other RV dealerships in Edmonton (Trailblazer & Arrkann RV) with my previous trailer over 20 years and I can tell you that those other dealerships had no difficulty understanding the importance of returning calls and checking units when there's a safety problem. Carefree gave me a runaround when I bought the trailer (the unit sold was not the same as the unit I was told I was getting).and again now when I needed them most of all. They have no concept of customer service or care and in my opinion they are extremely disorganized. read more

The customer safety guarantee in buying a used unit here is completely unacceptable. Wheel bearings are a huge concern with used units and when I found out the sales department is declining wheel bearing checks upon inspection before selling I got completely scared. Wheel bearings are a safety issue and should be looked at with every used unit. I do not recommend Carefree RV due to safety concerns read more

I purchased RV almost two and half years ago with the contract including special discount storage fee for lifetime. Last year they said the owner has been changed and they could not do anything and they do not have any contact info of previous owner. First time one of reasons they said was they did not have storage, and second time they said they had storage but they could not give special discount which previous owner promised. The buyers must be careful about contract. Who knows the ownership would be changed after you buy. read more

Horrible customer service... talked to Milt the "Sales Manager" and he told me that any brands of RV's that they do not sell they put at the bottom of the list for customer service... basically more than a 3 month wait. WOW... they want to treat you right. If I am going to spend 200k, I will go somewhere were they are not just used car salesmen... horrible experience. read more

I have also dealt with the Assistant sales manager milt and experienced much of the same attitude. The only time I get a conversation with him is if I make the call. I am waiting for a value of my 2008 HR Admiral Class A motorhome to decide whether to consign it or trade it. After 4 calls over 4 weeks and 2 emails I have to assume they are not interested in selling RV's. The only drawback is that my motorhome is sitting in their service center waiting on a new windshield and I cannot take it to another dealer. If the attitude from the sales dept is any reflection of the overall dealership, I may have made a mistake leaving the RV there for service. read more

Horrible customer service!! I had a very hard time to even get the sales person to talk to me. If your not ready to walk in and throw cash down they aren't interested in you. I kind of want to see the RV before I put money down on it but that doesn't seem to be the desire of the sales staff. If you don't put a deposit down to view an RV before hand you don't get to see the RV it's that simple for these folks. read more

My wife and my self stopped in to chat with a sales rep to ask of the tow trailers, and we're introduced to Sherry. We found our selfs very relaxed and at ease with our talk with Sherry. We met several other people that work there and all awesome attitudes, and made us feel like we're like family. I would like to thank Sherry, Glen and also Elmer. Who is the owner. Took Motorhome in for service work and got it back in a very dirty condition. Interior was very clean when I brought it in but I had to spend 2 hrs cleaning it after picking it up. Was charged for rework they had to do as a result of the doing service work incorrectly on their first go. Unauthorized work was done on the unit without my prior approval. Had to wait 3 weeks to get unit back instead of stated 1 week. Staff lost knob in interior of unit, replacement part was not available so a cheap part was substituted in it's place. Only positives were that the staff was friendly and the technicians were quite competent. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! Had a horrible experience, they did not pre deliver inspect my unit, brought it home and had several issues, took it back to be fixed and they only fixed some of the issues. Took it on a two week vacation and had to take it back. It was there for 8 months to get fixed and again they missed items to be fixed, the fixed operations manager said he would help us out as I fixed some of the items myself, that was a lie! Spoke to the general manager, that got me no where. Called forest river and they extended my warranty for me, due to the issues I was having. I laughed and told them I will never take it back there. For my first big RV purchase it was an experience I never want to do again. read more

We stopped at Carefree RV yesterday because our Kodiak Hybrid trailer was having furnace problems and since it's supposed to be chilly this weekend we wanted it looked at. Steve from service was outstanding ; so nice and helpful. Slid us in on a Friday of a long weekend. My brother-in-law purchased a trailer from them a month ago and they were very happy with the customer service. If we ever purchase a new trailer we will definitely go to Carefree RV. read more

I purchased a new motorhome from Carefree in the spring of 2015. So far, I haven't had one carefree day with this unit. It has been at the dealership for repairs, practically since the day that it was purchased. Every time they say it's fixed, I get it back and it still has the same problems. They take your money, keep your motorhome for months on end, and still don't fix the problems. This is the worse dealership anywhere!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS!!!! read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with, had our items stolen from our trailer while it was sitting in their yard. Was told by the manager Steve Kehoe it would be taken care of then when it was time to pick up our trailer he said call your insurance. He even made me feel like I was lying SAD!! Dropped the trailer off as we had warranty issues was told you can only have 8 issues then you have to rebooked. Dropped the trailer off beginning of October and was told we could pick up in two weeks. After getting frustrated we picked up the trailer the following May. After you spend tens of thousands of dollars on your dream RV and this is how they treat you I recommend buying your RV anywhere else but Carefree read more
