Really unsure what her line of questioning was, as the injury was directly related to and happened DURING a high contact sport. It made me wonder if she was even listening. I won't go into the back and forth details of the exam but if I hadn't pressed for direction on treatment or recovery I would have simply gotten an "I don't know and go see your PCP". If my PCP could have gotten me in for an appointment, I wouldn't have been at the urgent care in the first place. The worst part about the experience was the dismissiveness of the student and the lack of professionalism from the overseeing practitioner. She literally walked out of the exam in a fit. Didn't even end the exam just walked out. I wouldn't recommend this urgent care unless you are in desperate need without any other options. The only positives were the facility was clean and both the front desk and nurse were friendly.

I went to the other 95th St location for a pre-employment drug test and physical. To make a very…read morelong story short, I was told that my drug test was "positive for something" but they would not say what it was positive for-- after it was sent out to a lab it was reclassified as "no cause for questions or concerns", and they still wouldn't tell me what they saw on the initial screen. It would be great to have that information, considering it's my body fluid and my health, but apparently they don't tell anyone anything. It started my employment off with some tension between me and my Human Resources department. I went back for the physical, and after checking in, I waited over two hours. I knew that others who came after I did were going ahead of me, so I went to the desk to find out why. Guess what? I hadn't been checked in!! I understand mistakes happen, but an "I'm sorry about that" would go a long way toward creating good will. Once I was checked in, I was in and out in 15 minutes. The PA who did my exam was adequate, but very unfriendly and cold. I get it-- they're not working for me, but the atmosphere in there is dark and cold. A few smiles and a pleasant greeting would bring it up a thousand percent. They sent me a text later that afternoon, asking me to rate their service between 0-10 -- I texted back a "3". That was the end of it. I guess they don't want to know why, or hear negative responses. They didn't acknowledge my response at all!! Kind of a crazy way to do business.

She was very dismissive and even after hearing what happened to me the last time I had a puncture (horrible pain, horrible bilateral infection, had to have a procedure done by an ENT, 3 rounds of antibiotics, pain meds, couldn't hear, and panic attacks), told me she would not prescribe an oral antibiotic because it was too soon for an infection to have developed and "that's not how antibiotics work." She stated that even for a perforation, ear drops are not recommended. When I asked what could be the possible reason that I was in excruciating pain just 4 hrs after the rupture happened last time if infections take 2 days to develop, the response was "It doesn't look like you were seen by anyone in Saint Luke's Health System for that, so I would be unable to comment on what happened before, I can only address what's happening now." She said there would not be anything she could do for me since I did not have an infection yet. The implication was clearly "Don't come in." Not a bit of compassion. I saw a doctor at a different urgent care who told me the nurse practitioner's medical advice was INCORRECT and unprofessional. She was concerned that it was someone in her system and if it had been she would have "called and yelled at them". Her words. My drum was not perforated, yet the doctor prescribed me antibiotic ear drops prophylactically based on my history. I would not trust the bit@h you have working there to treat my DOG. In the words of Big Sean, "I don't fu$k with you, you little stupid a$$ bit@h I ain't fuc$king with you."

I was treated like a junkie when talking about medication. I was medicated and diagnosed with adhd in the past but a 40 mg vyvanse prescription scarred me for life as a middle school aged kid. They wanted a drug test. At the time, I had been smoking. I admitted that, and they promptly denied me care because they said I'd sell it in college. I have my diagnosis. I gave yall my diagnosis. Is that not the requirement? I even offered to quit, take a drug test after three weeks, and come back. They denied that too. All because Dr Guevara over there is scared of his license being put in jeaprody. You want your patients to tell you guys the truth, yet when they do, it's thrown back in your face. Even Dr Brockmeyer treated me like a 10 year old child. Absolutely rage inducing. Never ever recommending. My whole family is no longer in his patient base.

While the care was good, it would have been much cheaper to go to the CVS clinic. The late evening hours are what made us choose Centra, which was cheaper than the ER. The second time my son had injured his hand. They X-rayed his hand, said it was just bruised, offered to tape it, and said to take it easy. 6 days later his hand was still swollen and purple/gray so I took him to our pediatrician who sent us to diagnostic imaging centers who was able to diagnose the break and send us to an orthopedist. When I called Centracare to let them know, I was told that often times breaks in children are not able to be diagnosed the first day because of swelling. This would have been nice to know upon our first visit so that I would have understood to keep an eye it and that it could potential be broken instead of just told it was bruised and sent on our way. The care was good, the people are friendly, but in both cases I either could have saved money or potentially gotten a more thorough diagnosis.
