When we got our 12 week old puppy Lido, we were eager to bring him to Your Dog's Inn, and really…read morehad no idea how much he'd need the type of program that Elizabeth provides. He was a rescue puppy from a foster home in Georgia, and we had never met him before picking him up at the transport drop off. His foster mom had told us that he was a bit of an Alpha and he was very affectionate. Well, once we got him we learned he was more than a bit of an Alpha, that he hadn't been properly socialized with other dogs, he was dominant, and high energy. Elizabeth determined this during his assessment but said she would take him. On day two Elizabeth confirmed suspicions that my husband and I had that Lido was not the Lab mix that the rescue told us we were getting, that he was indeed a Pit Bull. I don't have anything against Pit Bulls, but the news did have an effect on how I felt about the whole situation. After five days of going to Elizabeth's, Lido was a totally changed pup. By using exercise, discipline, and appropriate affection, Lido was listening, he was calm, and sleeping through the night without any accidents. Elizabeth was very informative, caring, and really teaching us how to raise our puppy. It's clear that she's passionate about her work, and she does it very well. Sadly, Lido was sent back to Georgia after having him for two weeks. Though he was behaving, I had a sense of unease around him and I knew eventually that would transfer to him and possibly make him aggressive towards me. I didn't think waiting to see if that feeling would go away would be good for either one of us, so my husband and I made the really hard decision to send him back to the rescue. Elizabeth was wonderfully understanding when I told her, and really helped in making me see there was nothing wrong with me, that he just wasn't the puppy for us. We'll get another puppy someday, but we'll take our time and research breeds that would work for us, and make sure to meet the puppy before bringing him/her home. I was so impressed with what spending two weeks in Elizabeth's care did for Lido that we'll definitely return when we get another puppy.

Originally she was only going to go 3 days per week, but the owner and Pack leader Elizabeth quickly observed that Lucy might be more suited for the puppy program which would be 5 days per week. I can't thank Elizabeth enough for allowing Lucy to be part of her puppy program, after only 2 1/2 months, the difference is amazing. I have a wonderful dog I enjoy spending time with and all of my time is not spent having to discipline her or correct her over and over. She comes home tired, she greets visitors at the door like a lady and her habit of stealing everything that was not nailed down has almost completely stopped. Elizabeth is upfront & honest right from the beginning when she meets you for the first time and observes your dog. She tells it like it is and I find that very refreshing as it helps to alleviate any misunderstandings concerning her expectations and what she can offer her clients from her program. Your Dog's Inn is a clean, safe, interactive place where your dog can learn how to interact with other dogs (big and small) in a positive way. Elizabeth often videos and posts the antics of her "pack" which allows us to see and enjoy their progress on a regular basis. Thank you Elizabeth for not only working with Lucy to be a better companion, but for working with Rick and me to educate and model what it takes to be a better "Pack Leader".

I loved her emphasis on safety, health and well being for not just my dogs by myself as well. I used Georgie with my two rescue dogs. We worked on building confidence through play and she understands the breed specifics and their inclination towards certain behaviors. Play based training and training without conflict are great tools in her toolbox but as with all master trades its important to understand which tool to utilize during a project. Georgie is able to identify which tools will have the most impact and resulted it the best outcomes. When one of my dogs unexpectedly died last June Georgie stepped in during that time to help us process the loss but also supported us through by giving us resources to help our other dog cope with the suddenness of the loss. She helped us build a better relationship with our dogs and helped us tackle a variety of problems. The kennel seems to be run by teens with little experience and not much knowledge of pet care. We always used to tune into the pet cams when we were traveling to see our baby and verify that cleaning and care were actually taking place. When we picked up our baby at 2pm there was dried food in her bowl and the kennel looked like it was not cleaned. It has been two years since the pet cams have been working and It gives me an uneasy feeling that this is intentional. We are actively looking for a new kennel and highly doubt we will use this kennel again.

They worked with me to find the optimal location for him in the kennel where he wouldn't have to see dogs and cats. They spent time with him every day and sent me frequent pictures and updates. Bunny diets are not easy but they followed my hay, pellet, treat, and salad feeding instructions so he didn't have any GI disturbances. Everyone I met was so kind, from the staff to the manager to the owner. They all really obviously care about animals and seem to like their jobs. I don't like to leave my bunny behind and avoid it if possible. But sometimes it's unavoidable and I'll be way less worried doing so in the future, knowing that this kennel is nearby.

We wanted to focus on off-leash recall and build in other great pup practices more consistently (sit, stay, and place). I cannot speak highly enough about both Joshua and our pups' experience! We have a stubborn 8 year old who will not listen to anyone but me. Through trust-building and consistency, Oliver now knows that sit means sit / place means place no matter who is asking him. And we are able to take him for off-leash adventures with the comfort of knowing that he will reliably come when asked. It's the best feeling and he's so happy with this newfound autonomy! Then there's our wild child Willow. She's 3 years old and too smart and curious for her own good. Before, if she noticed that she was off-leash or made an escape from a fence, she would bolt - it was a game for her and she loves being chased. She needed the most support in not pulling when walking, impulse control (pesky squirrels), jumping on strangers, and recall. A lot to tackle but Joshua did this beautifully! We still have our sweet girl, but now she understands what's expected of her when meeting strangers (we sit and stay seated until released) and walks (heel, please). Since training, she's finally had the opportunity to swim (her favorite thing!) entirely off-leash and will reliably come when we ask. It makes us so happy to see her enjoy this freedom with us being able to ensure her safety. King K9 was hands down one of the best investments that we've made for our pups. We highly recommend reaching out to Joshua for all of your training needs! 10/10.
