New comer on the scene. Carbon Smith is has been brewing for a couple of years in Edinburgh before the couple moved to Manchester late last year. They have set up in what has become a Manchester requirement a railway arch on North Western Street (opposite side of the line to Beer Nouveau's Temperance Street).
It's very early days for this burgeoning brewer. But the selection on offer on Saturday gives a glimpse of the success it could be. Ollie Smith is hoping to grow his business with your help setting up a 20% equity buy through crowdcube. With the money generated he hops to make Carbon Smith not only a 10BBL microbrewery but also a brewery tap and homebrew space which could be quite exciting.
It's worth a jaunt out to see a brewery in proto-form and give them some encouragement.
It does make you appreciate what a hub of craft brewing creativity Manchester and the North are becoming. read more
