Great location, friendly staff, super fast wait periods. So fast that I wasn't able to complete the check-in process. I really liked my provider and the medical staff member that checked me in. I have two small stipulations. The ipad that is needed to complete the check-in process errored out on me, so I had to answer questions after my checkup. And the checkup itself was not as thorough as I've had in the past by other providers, but I'm going to take that as it being very clear to my that I don't have issues due to what she saw in my exam/my medical history. This office was absolutely unprofessional! This was our first time coming into the office. We drove 40 minutes to get there and when we arrived we waited 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged at the front desk even though there were people right infront of us. Once we gave our information they told us our appointment had been cancelled and they "tried to get ahold of us to reschedule". However we still got the confirmation emails and got the reminder text the day before with no other notice! The front desk lady had awful customer service and had nothing for us as far as appointments for almost two months with no apology or care! When i asked about another provider to get in sooner she had absolutely no care to take care of us or our concerns!!! Absolutely unprofessional and customer service was a disgrace. Heads up the navigation apps will take you to the intersection instead of to the actual location. The building is tucked behind the circle k about a block down from the major intersection. I kept trying to find the place and then called the office to let them know I was lost/ask for help and was on hold for 10 min so I couldn't even get anyone to help me find the place. When I arrived I told them what happened and they said they couldn't see me. I understand that schedules need to be kept however their inflexibility when they don't provide clear directions (I can't be the first person this happened to) is not the kind of experience I have ever received anywhere else. DO NOT use this place- when you rely on a health provider you want then to care about your health, your time or at least their own business, but none of that seemed to be the case. They should probably rename the place from Cara Mia to "we don't Cara about You-a". The short version is I had an appointment, they sent me a reminder text at 3:38 the day before the appointment, and I showed up and they tell me my appointment was canceled the day before...yeah, the day they sent the reminder text. THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME THEY CANCELLED- I learned that at the counter. At first they just said I wasn't in their system. When i showed them the confirmation text that had their businesses name, their address, the appointment time and date, along with the providers name and credentials, they then said it had been cancelled. Now, I don't know (yes I do!!), shouldn't one expect a profuse apology for canceling your needed healthcare and wasting your time, and not notifying you of the cancellation? And then, I don't know, try to reschedule with you or potentially call to see if other clinics in their network (they are in a wider network) could get you in especially given there was a serious health concern? NOPE! The staff chose to argue with me about whether I had an appointment. So now we know the management either never trained their staff on appropriate responses or the staff were insolent and refused orders...yeah, basically it's on the management. There is much more to the story (continued below) but you get the gist. For entertainment purposes you can keep reading this if you want. The reason given for the (un-notified) cancellation ended up being that they didn't take my insurance. But wait! - the plot thickens. I wanted to do a full body scan for skin cancer and had been to this place before so called and they scheduled me. As you may know it can take weeks or months to get an appointment. I get a call as the appointment was approaching that it was canceled because they didn't take my insurance (yeah, it gets SO much worse for Mia No Cara about You-a). I had an app scan of a mole that indicated it should be looked at as soon as possible (it said moles like that may develop into melanoma). So I had a call from THEM saying that they NOW ACCEPTED my insurance! Because of the urgency I accepted their first available workable date. Consider this businesses level of incompetence: they CONFIRMED they took my insurance, they sent me reminder texts and I confirmed my appointment, they CANCELLED with NO notice because they said they DIDN'T take my insurance, and they offered ZERO assistance to help the customer with a serious health concern. Ask yourself would you ever use them? No? Good, spare yourself heartache. read more

I went in expecting to see the dr, I saw the person doing a consultation. I wasn't informed that there would be a consultation and then I had to schedule another appointment to see the dr. I was not happy. When I said something to the receptionist she said "we never do that, it's always a consultation first". Well if I had been informed about that it wouldn't have been a surprise, having to make 2 separate appointments is ridiculous, just say that's what's going to happen. To make an appointment you have to go through a call center. I needed an appointment on a Monday or Tuesday due to my schedule, I told them I would be fine waiting 6 months or however long I need to get a Monday or Tuesday appointment. The scheduler proceeded to give me open dates for anything other Monday or Tuesday after having to repeat myself 10 times they finally understood. I arrived for my appointment at 11:00 and I was done with appointment by 11:12. While that might seem nice, I wanted a full body check and to talk about my skin in general. It was the most rushed process and I did not feel like they could have actually looked at my skin and absolutely didn't hear any of my concerns or give me any advice. I would give 0 stars if possible, wish I could have my $40 copay back. read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would. I brought my son in for acne treatments and the Dr used the wrong code (I know because I called my insurance company to confirm). I paid all bills except for 1 because I had asked their billing department and the staff at the Stapleton location to please review and get back to me. The desk staff a was extremely uninterested and billing clerk said they would review and call me back. Instead, I got a nasty letter from them stating they were sending me to collections for $196. I only asked they review the code that my insurance company said was wrong and didn't see why my policy would pay for an office visit. This team is abhorrent and there are plenty of amazing dermatologists in the area without having to be subjected to the kind of rudeness Advance derm showed. Their check is in the mail because they won't allow me to pay via their web portal or phone. I've been so patient and kind and they are just completely detestable. read more

The providers are very attentive to my daughter and have done a great job of following up and answering questions.

My visit to Advanced Dermatology was just for a routine preventative screening for skin cancer. There was nothing wrong with me. They took three samples of spots for a biopsy. This ended up costing me over $700. This should have been coded under preventative screening but instead it was coded as pathology which the insurance did not cover at all. I have had other screenings but this is the first time they took samples. I thought it a bit unusual at the time but thought there would be a nominal fee that insurance would cover. Be careful, first to make sure that you understand how much the cost of any tests or biopsy's are before agreeing to it. My spots were not really a problem and had I known it would result in a $712 bill I would have declined. Also, be sure to know how they are going to code the tests before hand. Hopefully others learn from my mistake. read more

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. This practice is entirely different than it used to be when Dr Reed and Dr Havard were there. It apparently has been taken over by a corporate ownership in Florida. My skin check was the least thorough I've ever received. Then I was billed an exorbitant amount for freezing off some small things that they normally wouldn't charge for, or would charge maybe $50. I'm still trying to resolve the issue after calling twice, sending an email and then calling again, waiting on hold for 20 min with no response. The customer service here is horrible. My son walked in 10 min late because the link they sent sent him to the wrong place. He handed them his info and the lady waited until til the clock turned to say sorry we can't see you you are more than 10 min late. I understand he was late and so does he but he was in the office within their late period but because the lady waited with his information until the clock turned just so they could turn him away. Finally a girl walks over looked at my insurance cards and said we dont take the secondary one anymore. I've spoke to this office 4 times verifying my information. The provider couldn't get out of the room fast enough. He walked in, said, " you have *%$&:;" and said he'd send a prescription. Then he said we don't need to look at anything else. I work in the sun and would feel better if I had all of my skin looked at. He then looked at my arms after I asked for about three seconds (that's being generous) and said I was fine. That was it. The appointment was $280 out of my pocket and I felt like it wasn't worth the three minutes. I won't go back here again. Feels like I was ripped off. I went here for an exam and received a recommendation to have an excision. Went back for the surgery and the surgeon couldn't tell what / where the previous doctor wanted removed. He recommended "keep an eye on the area and come back if anything changes." The surgeon spent no more than 5 minutes with me and charged me almost $70 for a regular office visit. Meanwhile... Went into have a cyst removed and the physician's assistant did not latch the table right. I fell and hit the floor on all four. I had just had a back surgery like 5 months 4 months prior. I hired an attorney because of the injury and these guys are not stepping up. No one has contacted my attorney they are not acknowledging what happened and I have since had one surgery lots of injections and I'm going to have to have another surgery. I would not trust anything with them. They don't care and they don't accept responsibilities for their mistake. Scary world we live in now. But I plan on contacting the medical board over these people so I definitely would stay away from them read more

I have been a patient of Advanced Dermatology at Parker for several years. And I've found them to be adequate. I recently, for the first time, made an appointment for my 5-year-old son for a wart on the tip of the toe of his foot. We spent about 5 minutes in the exam room and even less time with the provider, Dr. Boyle, who immediately diagnosed the wart and suggested freezing the wart (called cryosurgery, although not surgery at all) which took seconds. I was shocked to receive the bill of $420 dollars for one treatment of one wart. Keep in mind, normally multiple treatments are recommended. Of which, out-of-pocket I owe $170. I contacted Advanced Dermatology billing as I thought this was an error and/or wondered if this cost covered more than one treatment. It did not cover multiple treatments/visits and I was told the billing code and thus pricing was correct for a single treatment of one wart. Unfortunately, I find Advance Dermatology's cost to be exorbitant for the actual treatment, time, resources, and technical skill used for one cryosurgery treatment of one wart. The treatment and provider time nowhere near justifies the price. I would have never imagined this would have cost so much. Had I known this was the cost, I never would have consented to the treatment and would have explored other means. Overall, Advanced Dermatology's price is unreasonable and unfair and leaves me feeling taken advantage of. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this practice to be price gouged. read more

Doctors are great, but if you get double billed for a procedure and attempt to contact management, billing, office personnel - or any human at all - you will be hold for 1hr-1.5hrs each time you attempt to contact billing, no one will give you answers, no one will call you back (even though several emails and voicemails have been left), no one will clarify why you were billed twice for a procedure (one in which was a follow up to the original issue that was not completely resolved at first attempt). So, you will either choose to pay a bill that is not accurate OR have a past-due bill that comes with a whole set of other problems that you will have to deal with. Because of this, I do NOT recommend this practice. Based on my experience, if you have an issue, it is likely that it will never be resolved and you will pay the price, literally. read more

I went in to have two lipomas removed after waiting several months for an appointment. I think Dr. Callaghan does a good job of the removal, but when he was finished the assistant completely covered one of the incisions with wide steri-strips, one of which covered the whole top of the incision running lengthwise with two more wide strips placed crosswise over the incision, making it impossible to do the wound care which was outlined in the instructions. (Washing off dried blood and applying vaseline.) The other incision was nearly completely covered with steri-strips also. I contacted the office about this issue via the patient portal, and after several days received a response that someone would be reaching out to me. Still waiting after a week. Communication is poor between the patient and this practice. read more

The front desk staff were nice and polite. I was referred to Advanced dermatology because I had a reoccurring rash on my neck. I went in and was told that because I was treating it as my primary had directed that they could not determine the cause. Did a quick skin scrape to see if it was yeast. It was not. Then in said to increase my over the counter allergy pills. Wait for it to flare again then come in for another appointment when it is just short of intolerable. I want to know what is causing this not just throw pills at it to mask the symptoms. Did not ask family history or even look at my primary referral who recommended an allergy test. Felt rushed the whole time. Paied my 50 co pay for a 12 min session. The doctor never used my name never showed any empathy for my frustration. Not ever going here again. This is the most disrespectful and has the most air headed people running it especially the nurse Amy and Dr. Symodenes.. I've been on injectable biologics from this docs office for past two years and rarely do I get my injections on time because they want you to do random blood work (which I understand) but getting Amy to contact your specialized pharmacist to get your prescription out after receiving your bloodwork results is a joke. She tries to blame all her mistakes on the pharmacy and then when I call the pharmacy, they said the prescription request was sent to the office and was contacted but Amys lack of having her priorities in check seems to be her downfall. She actually got rude with me saying it was my fault for not contacting the pharmacist in time(this was so funny after bring on phone with pharmacist every other day trying to get Amy to accept paperwork). Dr. Symodenes on the other hand sounds like he's reading everything he tells you from a script and when you ask questions about your disease or try to give information on the research you've done with this disease(psoriasis) and the somewhat dangerous biologics they give you, he acts like your questioning his knowledge when in fact I'm just trying to understand my disease and treatment. He is very rude and there was twice where he walked out of the patient room mid sentence of me talking to him. My aunts a nurse and my older brother is a physicians assistant and told me to hurry up and find another skin doctor because these people have a poor attitude towards their patients and don't care. Symodenes sounds like a nerd that just likes to hear himself talk. Hes quick to throw you on these high risk prescriptions just to hurry you up out of his office. I'm 34 and have been to many doctors in my life and this guy is the worse as far as attitude and wanting to help. Screw him!! I called Westminster Dermatology last Thursday and I already have an appointment for this Monday to get me back on my prescriptions. All I can say is wow! what a difference in how your treated like a human being. Very nice people over at Westminster Dermatology. They have multiple offices so definitely leave Advanced Dermatology and switch as fast as you can! I would also like to point out that I'm over a month past due on my medication and have had the pharmacist send multiple request for my prescription, and last time I talked to Amy she sent another blood work request in 2 weeks after a different nurse sent my bloodwork request in and for some reason Amy still comes up with excuses after all this... read more

As a patient of record for over 10 years, finally just fed up with the horrible front office staff. They could care less about patient care, and not sure the docs, especially the older ones even care to fix the many issues in both locations. Go elsewhere and save yourself the headache. This is a national conglomerate that has taken over multiple offices. I called for an appointment as a new patient with a history of malignant melanoma and they scheduled a ten minute appointment. When I realized that this was way too short for a patient that needs a full screening with a history of skin cancer, I tried to change or cancel the appointment. Their centralized appointment staff can not cancel or change an appointment and I was switched to the office. It took over an hour on hold to cancel the appointment. I am sure the physicians are fine but they need to improve their scheduling and phone response times. read more

My husband drives all the way there to be told they in fact do NOT accept our insurance. I've been seeing Dr. Wright (the founder of the practice) at Denver Dermatology for over 30 years for ongoing care for basal cell carcinoma, a hazard of Colorado's altitude and climate, and while I love Dr. Wright and have always found him to be beyond excellent, this practice has really gone downhill since he sold the private practice to a corporate entity. Advanced Dermatology is all about money and volume and seems to care little about the patient or their concerns. Scheduling through their central corporate service is a sad joke, and you can't get anyone in the local office to return a call - forget about calling and talking to them, everything goes to voicemail so they can ignore it. I've tolerated it in order to continue seeing Dr. Wright, who somehow remains amazing through it all, but it may be time to move on. Prices up massively, service and staff attitude down by an equal amount, it wouldn't seem to be a recipe for success, but maybe everyone's expectations for medical care have been so lowered by Obamacare that this is now the norm. If I was looking for a new dermatologist (as I will be) I'd look elsewhere. read more
