I had been seeing Leslie Capin, MD for many years, but she no longer practices in the Castle Rock office, so Dr. Boyle is my new dermatologist, which I am very happy about. She was friendly, caring, thorough, and patiently answered all of my questions. She and her entire staff were all awesome in every way, and therefore I would highly recommend Dr. Boyle to anyone looking to find a new dermatologist. read more

Be careful, definitely look elsewhere for a dermatologist. My first visit seemed alright, except the doctor spent maybe 5 minutes with me. This second visit I was supposed to come back and get a pregnancy test and get officially prescribed accutane. I should've realized that there was a problem when the assistant who took me to the room, asked me if I was already on accutane--well clearly not if that's what this second appointment was for right? Well, I tell her that I need to get on it as that was the purpose of this appointment, so she sends the doctor in (took the doctor 20 minutes to make it to my room, never mind the fact that I can hear her and the various assistants outside loudly giggling and talking about their patients). The doctor, once again, sees me for maybe 5 minutes at most and then tells me she'll prescribe me the accutane and see me in a month. I wait in the room for another 10 minutes and then the assistant comes back in and tells me that she actually isn't able to get the accutane prescribed or do a pregnancy test because it hadn't been a whole month since the first visit (the receptionist was adamant about scheduling me early for my second visit, how interesting). So the assistant told me I would just have to buy my drugstore pregnancy test and email them a photo of it next week and then I'd still have to wait a whole other month to get prescribed accutane...oh and I still have to pay my copay for a visit that wasn't what it was supposed to be. Nice. I've tried bringing this up with their office manager--who doesn't answer the phone. I also tried calling their front office directly--they don't answer either. Oh and when I was finally able to get someone directly from their scheduling department, she had to apparently transfer me back to the front office to actually get confirmation on whether I could get my appointment cancelled. Guess what the front desk did.....anything but answer their phone. read more

Front desk staff was friendly and responsive. However, the first thing you see on the counter is a pad of tear off pages with photos of "problem areas" on women's faces -- apparently you check the boxes of all the things you hate about your face, tear off your sheet, and then get "help" when you go back. I was looking for skin health and care, not cosmetic products or procedures. No thank you. Visit itself was with a provider new to me for annual skin check. Window shade was wide open to easily visible sidewalk and road outside. Paper half shirt cover up was awful. Visit itself was fast and impersonal. I will not be going back. read more

The initial office visit went well, but their follow-through is horrible. They are quick to send a bill, but they will withhold test results. They left me a message confirming that they had the results but now they will not return my calls. I've left several messages and waiting a few days, but nothing. read more

Office visit fine. I needed some additional prescription cream. Called left messages, no one will call back. Called 3rd time, this time skipped the nurse line and went to front office. Yet another opportunity to leave a voicemail. So going to make a trip over there and talk to them face to face (hopefully) as they don't return messages or answer phone. Stay away from this place!!!! They told me I had melanoma on my first appointment before even sending lab results in, thank god they were wrong. They never called me back with results and then stating calling weeks later to tell me I was fine. Different people saying the same thing and then saying they were sending it off for 2nd opinions. This office has NO idea what they are doing!!! Worst run doctors office, and doctor, I've ever dealt with!!! They continue to call to say, "You results came back normal..." ? read more

I was seen on 1/10 for a skin growth to be evaluated and removed. I was forgotten about during my visit and sat in the exam room for over an hour until I went about to see what was going on.... They said they forgot about me. I was then told that a surgeon from their office would get ahold of me after they get prior authorization from insurance. I haven't heard a word as of 2/10 (a whole month) so I called and let them know that I have already found my own surgeon to remove it. I then got a call back from the office manager and she didn't even try to tell me why they are not doing what they said they were going to. Wasted a copy and a month of time. Also, prior authorization wasn't needed as my new surgeon called and was notified in 3 days that this is the case. Would not recommend this dermatologist office. read more

I have had a horrible experience since the get-go with this location. Where to start. I had a cyst removed on 6/7 which required a biopsy. As you can imagine, I was eager for the results but I never heard from anyone. I followed up continuously and to this day have not received a response. I decided to stop by the office and of course their computers were down. They had no sense of urgency and compassion for my request. I would recommend taking your needs elsewhere. Try Clarity Dermatology. I've heard great things, and should of taken my health concern there in the first place. read more

Terrible experience with the Castle Rock office. Both times I visited I was kept waiting for nearly an hour. On the second visit I told them to refund my co-pay and left without being seen. Don't go unless you have lots of time to waste!! read more

Everyone is very friendly and helpful at the dermatology office! I've never had to wait more than a minute in the waiting room to be seen.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! (Castle Rock location) Renee (receptionist) was unbelievably rude, condescending and dismissive and should not be in a position to deal with the public as she lacks any social skills or basic manners! We showed up for our appointment only to learn the office screwed up and did not have an available doctor. Long story short it was 100% their mistake and Renee treated us like it was our fault and was just flat out NASTY and completely unprofessional. We ended up walking out and let Renee know that the ENTIRE reason we were taking our business elsewhere was all because of her and her behavior, she just literally shrugged and gave us a nasty look and had no response nor did she even attempt an apology for, again, something that was 100% their fault. Additionally, she did all this in front of a waiting room full of other patients. Well done Renee - you single handedly lost business for your employer and gave other waiting patients insight into what an unprofessional organization they were giving their business to. If Renee was my employee she'd be looking for a new job! After reading other reviews it appears we are not the first to have experienced deplorable customer service at Dermatology Associates Of Colorado. read more

Address incorrect on Yelp. Actually located near target and car wash. I got an appointment quickly, PA was very good. Great bedside manner. The set up was a bit odd. The routine seemed to be the same with everyone since I watched and heard the same interaction with the patient right before me. It went, check in, visit with doctor, then receptionist held me at the desk and gave a very unexpected total and said I have to pay everything before leaving. I expect to pay a co-payment at the time of an appointment, that's all. Because it's a specialist I would expect a $50 co-pay (according to my insurance card). She said it was $150 and I had to pay it right then. She wasn't very friendly. There were people in the waiting room and it was discussed loud enough for everyone to hear. It was uncomfortable. As I've mentioned previously, I am a retired health care provider and have a pretty good 'compass' about other providers. In this case, on two separate attempts... I was placed on an extended hold immediately following my providing this Thornton office with my insurance info. I doesn't take a genius to realize that they are weighing and measuring my wallet before scheduling me, and that is a pretty offensive behavior. They have (from years of experience) time after scheduling me to check to see if they are in network with my (really excellent) insurance and then let me know. Apparently they have decided to run the patient through their 'financial screening process' to save a small amount of time for their staff. All in all, a very disappointing experience to have spent 10 minutes each attempt only to have nothing to show for it. I'm somewhat certain there might be a patient oriented provider out there.
