Apex was easy to find with lots of available spaces in the parking lot. My appointment began right on time with the Assistant, however I had quite a long wait for my exam. She even "froze off" a couple of sun spots. Apex is a great place for this & many other dermatology services. I'm planning on returning next year!

Ayin is phenomenal and somehow remembers your name after just one visit, which speaks volumes considering how many patients she sees. But the real standout is Dr. Jelena. She is exceptionally thorough, warm, and compassionate, and her expertise truly sets her apart. As a person of color, it's rare to find a provider who genuinely understands melanin-rich skin but Dr. Jelena absolutely understood the assignment. She took the time to listen to my concerns, thoughtfully explained my treatment options, and the care she recommended actually worked. You can tell she studies skin types deeply and treats each patient with intention and respect. Shout-out to her incredible team. Amy is a wonderful assistant, always kind and supportive. And Cody at the front desk is amazing; every time I call, he answers promptly and does his best to find appointment times that fit my schedule. The entire staff makes you feel seen, heard, and cared for. If you're looking for expert dermatology with genuine compassion especially for skin of color I highly recommend About Skin Dermatology and Dr. Jelena. Truly top-tier care.

It also sounded like she had some personal experience with the regiment she gave me, so I had faith that it would work, and let me tell you, her treatment has worked. She was able to answer all my questions and was even super patient about it, because I usually ask ALL the questions. I have a follow up soon, and I'm looking forward to it!

I had never been to a dermatologist before. During the visit itself, which lasted around 15 minutes, I didn't feel very engaged or personally cared for. She did not examine my face closely, and much of the appointment seemed focused on the computer. While she was polite, the interaction felt somewhat impersonal, and I left feeling frustrated and unheard. I filled the prescription she recommended, but at this point I don't plan to return for the follow-up appointment.

I visited the Greenwood Village location for my annual full skin screening, with Dr. Dajani. Other…read morereviewers stated that their fees are too high. I suppose it all depends on your health insurance. I have a PPO plan and Dr. Dajani is in their network, so the amounts billed are pre-determined by contract, then I pay 20% co-insurance. You will receive a separate bill from a pathology lab for any biopsies they send off. They have signs posted to that effect everywhere. Money talk aside, Dr. Dajani is very thorough and may have saved my life. During my exam, she found three moles that looked irregular/suspicious. She shaved them off right on the spot, a quick and painless 10 minutes with virtually no scarring. Turns out one of the moles was a stage 0 melanoma! She gave me the diagnosis over the phone and was very compassionate and willing to answer any questions. She also put me on the phone with someone who scheduled me for surgery right away. This was after 5:30 pm, a time when most doctor's offices are long closed. Dr. Schleve, their head surgeon, did a fabulous job with my surgery. He was a delight to deal with and made me feel at ease. We talked about travel, Octoberfest and a bunch of other things. Anxiety gone, made the 1 hour surgery go by so much faster. Even the day after, I barely feel any pain. He even said I could resume yoga in a few days if I feel alright. A load is off my shoulders. I can't speak highly enough of this place. Another doctor may have been less thorough, and I'd still be walking around with skin cancer. They are very accommodating in making late afternoon appointments that fit my work schedule. The longest I've had to wait was 15-20 minutes. They always answer their phone. They don't try to sell you on lasers or botox or other cosmetic procedures. What more can you ask?

That's flat out scary. We both went for 2nd opinions and both of those appointments revealed the fact that spots Cara Mia missed or mis-diagnosed were cancer or pre-cancer as well as some spots Cara Mia wanted to biopsy, were nothing to worry about, for both of us. And on top of that, within minutes of the start of the exam, the Cara Mia started freezing off 7 spots that who knows if they were pre-cancer or not. It felt like there was a lot of up-selling happening but I can't be positive, just my hunch. But most importantly to miss skin cancer is just dangerous on their part.
