Strongly recommend against going to this practice. I went in for my annual skin cancer checkup and was seen by PA Jonathan at the south Denver location. He was running behind and rushed and I did not feel like he did a through exam. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Should have read the reviews but thought they could look at what was going on with my skin and give me some help.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No, had to have a biopsy that took forever to come back, and became infected. Maybe my fault, but needed three antibiotics to clear the infection that started three days after the biopsy. Didn't smell or remember that odor that meant they used proper prep techniques like an astringent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Follow up people had no idea why they were calling me, I had to correct them and explain what happened.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Biopsy results were non-conclusive with no recommendations as to how to handle the skin issue. read more

I was really hoping to give this dermatologist a good rating. I had Dr. Robinson use the V beam several years ago with pretty good results. I then went back in July of this year for the same. Requested same settings, took time off of work to recover from bruising. Had no bruising and no results at all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Called the office repeatedly after getting records showing settings were so much less which explained why I had no results.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally received a call back months later offering a free session.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fast forward to November 5th and I was rushed in without numbing, Dr Robinson didn't ask where I needed the laser, proceeded to blow up veins I didn't know I needed all over my face in a bizarre repetitive fashion extending from near my ears all over....sadly missed pretty much every vein I needed eradicating on my nasal folds and chin. I looked ridiculous for weeks without achieving any results...she didn't give me a mirror just said we are done. I asked her if she got the veins on my nose and she said yes. I WOULD NOT LET THIS DOCTOR TOUCH ME FOR FREE! HORRIBLE....SHE HAS A LASER TECH IN THE ROOM WHICH PROBABLY MEANS SHE HAS NO CLUE ! Ridiculous that they charge a 2.91% fee for paying with a credit card, and they don't tell you about the fee beforehand. They also billed my insurance $425 for a wart removal, which didn't even work. Poor practice to not not inform a patient that that procedure would be $425. Medical practices need to be forced to disclose pricing. I would have never have agreed to a procedure to remove a wart for $425. That and the 2.91% fee has made me decide to never return. read more

I have no issues with the quality of the care and service provided by my dermatologist. My issue is with their billing practices. They put a credit card service fee on top of the co-pay, and did so in a manner that appeared to me to be out of compliance with Colorado law, specifically SENATE BILL 21-091. Never before have I gotten such a fee from a medical practice. read more

If I could give less than a 1 star review, I would. Went to Adv Derma and Cosmetic Surgery for a mole check in 2022. In May of 2023 they called me to make an annual appt. I let them know I changed insurance and could I check if I was in network. They said I was so I made an appointment and went to a simply mole/skin check appt. Five minutes after leaving they place, they call to tell me I am NOT in network and now I need to pay $318 for the mole check appt instead of the $25/co pay. It is now October-6 months later. I have called 11 times to the billing department as well as the (non existent) Office manager and have spoken with humans who said they will "escalate the matter." Never once have I received a call back. I filed complaints with both the CO Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau; both entities never received a response from this business. After reading the other reviews here with similar complaints to out of network billing and horrific customer service, I am firm in my resolve that this Adv Derma and Cosmetic Surgery group be help accountable to bad billing practices as well as deplorable customer service. I suggest you go anywhere else for a skin check. read more

I have been visiting ADCS almost exclusively for over a decade. I usually see Dr. Milton Schleve, whom I have known for even longer through my work at Ft. Carson, CO. The office is well organized and has all facilities needed to offer complete services, including biopsies, aesthetics and Mohs surgery. Dr. Schleve is a calm, knowledgeable and well experienced physician with a folksy demeanor and good sense of humor. He always answers all my questions fully and with confidence. The support staff is organized and very helpful. My latest visit was on 7/27/23, and I got a quick and sensible resolution to my skin problem. This is a great place to get reliable dermatologic care and consultations. read more

I saw Dr Robinson for 2 concerning spots on my face, and she quickly and competently put to rest my fears that they could be cancerous. She educated me about these areas (even sent me home with a pamphlet), and also about which types of skin cancer to watch out for. In addition, the front office staff was prompt and courteous; I was in and out and back to work in 30 minutes. I would go back to this office, if necessary, and definitely would recommend Dr. Robinson! read more

The staff and physicians assistant were fine and took a biopsy. However, I have been left hanging wondering about the results. I was told I would receive the result no later than a week ago. I have emailed the office twice to ask for an update but have received no response. When you are wondering whether you have a cancerous lesion, the follow-through should be much better! read more

I was referred to Sorkin via my Momma, and Momma knows best. She has been going to Dr. Meg Lemon there for years, and recommended that I do the same. I have a rare condition called over-cuteitis, which makes me way too cute, approachable, and snugly - like that fuzzy fabric softener bear in the commercials. So, periodically I visit the good folks over at Sorkin to have them make sure that the cutest of the spots don't become malignant - or Macaulay Culkininisms in medical jargon. The waiting list is months to see Dr. Lemon, so I elected to see her colleague, Dr. Stephanie Frankel, who is terrific. They are fast, professional, and all joking aside, I highly recommend this group of doctors and staff. read more

I had a great experience my first visit. The receptionist were fantastic and so friendly. Mentioned they were from a different location. Overall I had a good visit. The visit with the doctor itself was very quick and didn't have a lot of questions answered. Decided to return because the prior visit did not seem to be completely done or the results needed - wanted to ask more questions. I called wondering if I could get in before the end of the year to have the spots looked at again and maybe a second opinion. The first available was January 2nd. I asked if there was a call or waitlist for cancelled appointments so I could get my 2023 plan used. The receptionist told me they "don't do that" and I need to call everyday. Then paused to say there was a 3:30pm with a different doctor available. Inquired to make sure that doctor fell under my plan since they have my medical card already on file. The assistant proceeded to tell me I should call my insurance to confirm. Any office I've worked with has been able to confirm in-network right away with my medical card on file. The entire conversation had a tone of annoyance. Making myself very uncomfortable, feeling like a burden. I verified the office address and time, wrote into my calander, which seemed to annoy the receptionist even more. That I was expected to know this. I was a burden trying to confirm properly. Upon arrival, I was told I'm extremely late and the receptionist proceeded to degrade me, telling me it was her on the phone and she was the one on the phone and knew the conversation. That she confirmed three times what time I should have been there at 3.. I tried my best to remain calm but felt extremely mistreated for a mistake or miscommunication.. Mentioning this is poor communication. Additionally I never received a follow up email after the scheduling to confirm the time - even though it was short notice booking day of. I did my due diligence to write the address and time down. I was actually in the parking lot at 2:50 and figured I should wait before going in. A curtiousy call would have been nice but I understand that isn't always possible. Could have been in there within minutes. Overall, feel extremely degraded, uncomfortable and I walked out crying due to this interaction. There was a lot of hostility and blame rather than trying to make the situation right. I'm not expecting them to fit me in but at least meet half way for the situation rather than rudely gaslighting a patient. I came for a service provided by this clinic and was treated improperly, unfair and unprofessionally - even if a mistake was made. read more

Incompetent doesn't begin to describe Dr. Callaghan. My mother underwent what should have been a routine Mohs procedure and left with a severed nerve, resulting in a drooping eye and eye lid. Due to his lack of concern for a 90 year old woman, he opted not to even tell her about the error, she only found out once the stitches were removed and the eye immediately drooped. He chose to take far bigger margins than what are prescribed, obviously feeling that given her age, the visual result was irrelevant. This practice is unresponsive and now that it is owned by a large corporation in Florida, no one seems to care about the actual patients. Finally, the procedure was conducted in a room that appeared to be used for excess chair storage. The chair she sat in for the procedure had no arms on it, clearly the patient's comfort is of no concern. The room had blankets laying on the floor. read more

Dr. Callahan and MA Madison were incredible. They kept my mind off the procedure by engaging me in thoughtful conversation. They kept me informed every step of the way. Their COVID precautions made me feel comfortable. Great bedside manner. But most importantly, what two weeks ago looked like a Frankenstein incision, is barely visible today!!!!!!! I have a family history of psoriasis and was beginning to think I would just have to live with it the way my father does, plaques all over his body. I had been prescribed ointments and my dad had been prescribed methotrexate to no avail. On the advice of my PCP who said Meg Lemon is "THE" expert on psoriasis, I visited Colorado Dermatology Specialists one year ago to see if there was a more modern and effective treatment that I had been missing. Dr Lemon assured me there was and stunningly a few days after I began treatment all symptoms disappeared. I literally watched the plaques disappear over the course of the weekend. I was close to giving up on the beach and pool but hope people suffering from psoriasis seek out professionals like Dr Lemon who understand the modern treatments and get patients on the right track from day one. read more

I scheduled a skin check appt with Alison, the Nurse Practitioner, immediately followed by an appt with her as well, for a chemical VI Peel. I do want to say that I love how they schedule appts for each "visit" even if it is a back to back appt. For example the skin check was its own appt, and the peel was its own. Because of that system of scheduling, I didn't feel like the skin check was at all rushed, in order to fit in a peel. Alison was incredibly thorough, and addressed my skin concerns. Making sure any questions were answered. The VI peel was the first chemical peel I had ever done, and she was again thorough in answering any questions, making sure I was comfortable through the process. She explained the benefits of the peel, which peel would be best suited for my skin/skin goals, and what to expect over the next week. I would highly recommend Alison to anyone needing just a general dermatology appt, as well as a cosmetic appt. She was caring, knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant to engage with. read more

She's super thorough for my annual exams, and even came in for an hour the week before my wedding for some extra Botox! I wouldn't go anywhere else in Denver for dermatology. Only because I can't give them a 0. The worst experience ! They told me that my appointment was all settled. (One text and two emails) The receptionist even called a day before making sure my insurance was right. I arrived earlier than the 20 min for my first appointment. (Because they said to be 20 mins early) my Medicaid insurance got denied when the receptionist asked for my insurance information. I came in for a SKIN CANCER SCREENING!! she said that only some of the offices take Medicaid and that's not one of them? So how am I suppose to know if they are on the Medicaid website? Who is suppose to know they have to call every office to see if they accept Medicaid? So selfish they don't take someone who is coming in for a cancer screening. They are what's wrong with the medical field! Only caring about money and not actually the well being of people they take care of. Not to mention the way the receptionist said it out loud in the waiting room and everyone stared at me. I felt so uncomfortable when all I came in for was a peace of mind.
