I was referred to this shop by a client who described them as honest and wonderful, but my experience was the complete opposite. I have never felt so dismissed or disrespected by a business. I called ahead asking specifically for an oil change and was quoted around $55 by Ken. He asked what maintenance code my car showed, and I told him B-1, but I was very clear on the phone that I only wanted an oil change and understood that a full B-1 service would cost more. I also explained that I was already aware I needed new tires (TPMS light was on) and that my rotors may need replacing. When I dropped my car off, I again explained what I already knew my vehicle needed. While I was at work, they called to tell me about additional services--information I had already provided at drop-off. Dan who may have been one of the techs asked if I wanted my CVT fluid topped off. I declined, explaining I could handle that myself since it would be an extra charge. I also requested they plug a nail in my front left tire since the car was already there, even though I could have had it done for free at Honda. When I picked up my car, I was shocked to see that I had been charged for a full B-1 service, which I never approved or authorized. I genuinely believed I was paying for an oil change and a tire plug. When I calmly tried to ask for clarification and find a solution, Ken became extremely rude and aggressive, saying things like, "Do you think I'm spamming you?" and "Take your keys, take this, and never come back." I was not disrespectful--I was simply trying to understand why I was charged for a service I did not consent to. I paid for the services, but the way I was treated was completely unacceptable. I will never return and would not recommend this place to anyone who expects clear communication, honesty, or basic respect. read more

We had a battery issue on a Friday night and Dan went above and beyond getting our car in and fixed that evening versus pushing it to the following week. We've been using Car-Isma for a couple years and they have always been upfront, honest and fair with pricing and the service has always been exceptional. They let us know of any factory recalls and will always check if a needed repair falls under warranty so we can deal with them properly. I would highly recommend bringing your Honda or Acura to Car-Isma. I'm so happy we found them! read more

I love these guys! I discovered Car-isma a few years ago and now I don't like going anywhere else. I only wish I had heard about them sooner than that. They are all the things that the local Honda dealerships are not - helpful, responsive, service-oriented. These are the kind of guys that my dad used to take our car to when I was young. The small local shop who had a strong following in the community. They know who I am when I call, and when I walk in the door. The local Honda dealer might too, but not for good reason. In several occasions they have had to clean up what the dealerships have not been able to fix. I only wish Honda allowed me to take warranty repairs to them. My Milwaukee repair shop thought my problem was transmission. Normally he did excellent work. It was such an expensive repair a friend suggested Car-Isma to get a check. They did and they know their Hondas. My bill was around $350 and it was fixed. We all know what transmissions cost. I have been making the trip to them ever since. They are totally worth it. Took my car to Carisma for new tires ever since I got them there's been slow leaks in all of them I am not happy with this since the tires cost quite a bit of money and I would have to take another day off of work very disappointed and I think their quality of service has gone down hill. read more

I agree with the first reviewer. It's nice to have an independent mechanic to maintain our two Hondas (2001 Accord and 2002 Odyssey). I've had some unexpected repairs, but the father (Ken) and son (Dan) team run a good operation. They talk to you straight and don't suggest work that does not seems out of the ordinary. I've told them, if I end up buyings Hondas in the future, having them around to help with maintenance is a primary factor in the decision. read more

I have been a customer and driving Hondas for over 15 years and always take my cars here for repairs. The prices are fair and reasonable and they always do their best to accommodate your schedule for an appointment. Since it is a smaller operation, appointments are very helpful as they are busy. I have recommended Carisma to others and they have also passed on a good word. It is a bit of a drive for me to go there but it is worth my time and the trust I have in their work/service. read more

They do a good job of repairing what's necessary and providing you with knowledge on the timing of upcoming repairs. I really liked their tire recommendations for both our vehicles. I just moved to town, and on context I have a great independent mechanic back down south in Oklahoma - honda guy - and I have a 97 CRV. It's an old but reliable car. After going to David Hobbs dealership up here in Glendale and getting an outrageous estimate on some minor repairs (they quoted something like 3,500 dollars - more than my car is worth and charged me 150 for the diagnosis without actually fixing anything) and then getting all those things fixed in Oklahoma for 43 dollars, I became worried that sane and professional Honda repair was gonna have to be a drive to the dealerships in Madison. Well, I am here to report that such extremes need not be taken. Get thee to Car-Isma a few miles north of town, where they quickly diagnosed the latest head-scratching problem with my gear shift, etc. and nailed it down at very reasonable and normal (for an Okie) rates. I think I walked out of there today 30 bucks lighter, most of it in parts / fuses, and it took about 30 minutes. They do vehicle maintenance to factory specifications, so I plan to skip all dealers in the area and just go to them, as well. Reasonable and professional Honda repair. This is my new area go-to. read more

Extremely disappointed in the service at Carisma. Took my Honda in for an oil leak and after assessing the car they quoted me $272.00. After the repairs the car was still leaking oil. Went back to Carisma and they quoted me $150.00. (2 hours of labor and a part that is $9.00) The leak should have been fixed the first time around. Either they didn't assess the damage correctly or they did a sloppy job. I will never to do service here again. read more

superb....took my Dad's high mileage S2000 there for a check engine light....they fixed the problem and also did a valve adjustment and a bunch more preventative stuff....they know S2000s very well (much better than the Honda dealers at this point). Used to like these guys - been going there for about 4 year and then something happened over there. They charge waaaay too much!!!! (I've called around for new tires, brake work and the latest being one of those annoying regular maintenance minder.) I don't mind paying a little extra for a local, small business. But I do mind getting treated poorly and being ripped off. The guy who is the office area is rude and not very helpful. He told me to look in my owners manual to find out what the maintenance code meant! What a jerk - I wanted to know what work was really needed. They quoted me over $500 for routine "inspection" stuff and to replace a water pump that was in no way in need of replacing. This place has made me feel, once again, that as a woman unscrupulous mechanics are waiting to advantage fo even regular customers. Bottom line: Carisma is not trust-worthy -- shop around! read more

If you are looking for soothing sales talk, go somewhere else. Ken can be grumpy (like me)....Dan (the son) less so ...however if you are looking for a place you can trust for Honda/Acura this is it. We stared using these boys 10 plus years ago when a buyer of our Honda CRV took it there for the inspection....and we have been taking one Honda and one Acura there ever since...in fact, we favor Honda autos given Carisma being available. read more

I have to echo Eliza's comments.I am not one to leave reviews normally, but today I'm compelled by the rudeness and utter lack of respect shown towards me and my wife. We were recommended Car-isma because they specialize in Honda/Acura. To date, we have only had small items done here, oil changes, tires mounted and balanced etc. Nothing really to report either way on the service. Today my wife came in for an oil change and it had snowed a fair amount over night and continued into the morning. When she pulled into the the lot, it was not plowed and she was unable to see that a large boulder sat just off to one side and hit it with her drivers side front tire, blowing it out. This boulder is not marked (nor is any of the lot to be honest). After talking to my wife, we weighed our provided options - put the spare on and head home or wait for them to order a new tire - which we would pay for at full price, no discount even on mounting and balancing or anything was offered. When I arrived to the shop, I spoke with Ken. I asked about the boulder, why it wasn't marked and why their lot isn't plowed. He tried to tell me that it had been plowed once, but based on what I saw (photo's taken) there was no indication of plowing being done. But that's where the conversation turned. He asked why I was being a "D*ck" and proceeded to imply my wife (in her honda odyssey with our 2 year old in the back) was driving too fast and slid into the rock... something he tried to back pedal on by saying the Continental tires (4 month old, ironically mounted and balanced by Car-isma) were junk - not the word he used and while these are all season tires, they get terrific reviews on Tire-Rack which was probably why she slid to begin with. It was clear that he had no concern for me as a customer land lacked even the most basic customer service skills resorting to name calling and condescending behavior. Needless to say, we won't be back, nor will we recommend friends and colleagues to come here. I had already started taking our vehicle to the Int'l Honda in Sheboygan anyway.. sure it's a bit further to drive, but they have superior customer service. read more

Very honest people and only fix what is necessary! On our 07 Civic the wipers would not turn off when switch was turned off. Dealer said we needed a whole new wiper motor for $400. Car-isma simply fixed it by replacing a switch on the motor for $125. I will be back. read more

One of the main reasons I bought a Honda was so it could be serviced at Car-isma. Ken, Dan and their crew have never been anything but professional, polite, honest and fair in my dealings with them.
