Outstanding. We…read moreused to stay at the Landmark hotel, in downtown Clintonville, but a recent change in ownership/management has sent that property into a severe tailspin. Steer clear Enter Cobblestone. Looks and smells clean. Full bar attached to front desk and open till 2am. Great little "convenience store" with a pizza oven, snacks, and sundries attached to the other side of the front desk - open 24 hours. Business center. Very nice gym (didn't use it, but looked well appointed with a few machines and flat screen attached to wall). And clean room. Did I mention the place is clean? After our last experience at Landmark, Cobblestone feels like a 5 star upgrade. The morning breakfast had hot hotel pans with scrambled eggs and sausage that looked like sliced Spam but wasn't salty at all and tasted like ham. A hot waffle iron, assorted pastries, bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and milk. Quite a nice selection compared to many "Continental breakfasts" in a lot of places. I was impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. Sadly, I didn't get names of the 2 morning staff, but, WOW! The manager mentioned she'd been managing here for about 2 years and the housekeeper was learning the front desk position duties as well. Customer service like this is getting rarer and rarer. Phenomenal. Cobblestone Inn and Suites is our new go-to when we're back in town to visit family. Well worth the rates they charge. Thanks again for a fantastic stay! We'll be back.

The hotel was sparkling clean, the internet was fast, the bed was super comfortable, and it was nice that you could buy a beer at the hotel. What really made the visit shine, however, was the manager Amanda. She was clearly working hard to deliver excellent customer service with a great attitude. She was so welcoming and friendly, and she went above and beyond for customer service. I will definitely stay here again!

I will say the public areas of the hotel appear clean and well maintained. It's somewhat uncommon for us to dine at a hotel restaurant without staying at the hotel as well. We however have stopped at Season's three different times now when there's been a snafu with going to another destination. We haven't been disappointed yet. We've had the Friday fish, Sunday broasted chicken and rounded it out with a ribeye to boot. Pleasantly surprised with each dinner. They each seemed to be a quality entree with decent flavorings. It is a restaurant within a hotel, so it's not super fancy. I note it as a worthy destination if you find yourself looking for a bite to eat and it's that time of day when other area restaurants might have too long of a wait.

This place is a joke. As soon as we walk in the door the smell of mold and mildew hit me in the…read moreface, and I'm allergic to ALL molds. The desk clerk was nice and polite, it's not her fault the place reeks of a run down house with a wet basement. She checked us in and tells us our room is on the second floor on the North side and we will want to drive around and park in back. What she failed to tell us was they have no elevator. So here is my husband trying to carry up a completely full large cooler with probably a case and a half of beverages and 20 pounds of ice, along with his duffel. and me with a brace on my foot/ankle carrying my bag, trying to make it up a flight of stairs in a hallway that is more like a sauna. We finally make it to our room, open the door and find it's not just the hallway that's a sauna, but the room too. First things first, where is the AC? Second, after being on the road over 4 hours, the bathroom. I walk in the bathroom to find a toilet that is so small and short that it looks like it was pulled out of a grade school. Then I notice a handicapped grab bar in the shower. Nice feature, right. But I have to ask, who puts a handicapped grab bar in a second floor hotel room that doesn't have an elevator so the handicapped can access the room? Where is the logic in that? Also there are no available sockets near the bed to plug in and change cell phones. We are in a room with 2 queen size beds and there is only one light source between the 2 beds to be shared by both beds. They advertise free Wi-Fi, but the signal is so weak my husband could not get a text message to go through to his brother on the first floor. So now after just 3 hours of sleep on a rock hard mattress, here I sit in the dark for over an hour now, at 3:30am, unable to breathe due to the mold and mildew in a hot room writing this review and looking for a different hotel to stay in hoping that the shower at least has good water pressure and wondering how this place is rated as one of the best hotels in the area. I don't know, maybe my standards are too high.

Didn't hear a peep through the walls and floors, so there's that. Lots of hot water and plenty of water pressure too, one of the upsides of older hotels. Smells like someone died in the hallways even through my mask! Not sure what's up with that and from the other reviews it looks like it's an ongoing problem. Less tolerant types would be upset to stay here. Checked in late and left early, never really had the chance to hook up my Xbox or to check Wi-Fi.

We were given keys to a room, but when we opened the door we found the room had someone's items strewn about, including a suitcase on the bed. This should not be possible at any hotel, let alone a reputable chain. Rooms must be checked and confirmed empty before they can be sold to another person, and a room must never be sold while occupied. The next room provided was nice, and the staff was so accommodating. I'd love to give it a high rating, but there is no way to overlook such a severe problem. I am hopeful this was a fluke, but such an incident can only happen if there are significant problems within multiple levels of both staffing and management; clearly beyond the fault of any single individual.
