This gem called Captain Sam's Fish and Chicken was actually found by my fiancé on TikTok, and we had to try it for dinner tonight. It's tucked away off South Rainbow and Charleston, near the CSN West Charleston campus -- and let me tell you, this spot is nothing to play with! They serve up ready-to-order chicken and fish are both cost-friendly and absolutely packed with flavor. And do I need to mention... they've got the mild sauce and will ask if you want your chicken fried hard with lemon pepper seasoning? Yep -- this spot is legit and stays true to the Chicago name. The vibes are there. The food is there. The service is definitely there. The quality is there. The portions are generous for the price, and everything about this spot makes it worth the visit. My fiancé and I will definitely be coming back soon.

I would say a solid, four out of five there's a shrimp and fish was nicely fried. This is a dish that you would need to warm up in the microwave at home. But it does transport well. The service was good. The the restaurant is in a gas station. It's a very corner store good foods small shop type of vibe.

I have NEVER been to this place in all the 15yrs of living in Las Vegas, NV. However, I live in Summerlin and from time to time. I drive past this place. I do like eating healthy. Yet, today was my cheat meal day. There are no thrills when it comes to the ambience. It's a liquor store. You will definitely find all that you need from cheap to affordable liquor prices. Mexican candy, food and even slot machines. The customer service was cool. The workers are young. Yet, they are hard working. From the cashier to everyone cooking the food. Affordability: Pricing will NOT hurt your pockets at all. This food is NOT over priced. Good food on a budget!!! Cleanliness: Now, they can do better. Yet, they did change out their gloves repeatedly. Wipe things done etc. Just there is just so much stuff and such little space to work with. They do need to change out their cleaning towels more often though. Now the FOOD. The BEST seasoning, the BEST fried chicken wings, the BEST fried catfish, BOMB fries. The seasoning that was recommended by a customer to me. BTW-the customers were even friendly. The seasoning is this lemon pepper. It has to be crack LOL. Cause it had me ready to drive right back up there and order another plate of food. The order I had was enough for me to share with my adult daughter. We were so satisfied and sad all at the same time. Our food was gone LOL. Now we are just left with memories. Their hot sauce tastes like a mixture of : Louisiana Hot Sauce and Cholula. Full of flavor and the right amount of heat. Look you MUST go here. No matter what side of town you are on, if you're visiting Las Vegas, a cheat meal or a new dinner idea. Stop in, make some new friends and allow your tastebuds to be happy. There is NO place in the Las Vegas Vally who can do it better. I mean that :) I highly recommend. Thank you for the amazing food!

After coming across this place several months ago online decided to give it a try tonite. It's located on W. Charleston and Rainbow inside of a convenience store. Saturday night around 7:30pm, it was pretty busy. Took about 20 min or so for my order to be ready. It was clean inside and staff were friendly. I ordered the 2 piece catfish with fries, bread and cole slaw. Not a fan of the fries with the lemon pepper seasoning. The fish was okay, not the best I have had. I didn't try the cole slaw. Will I try this place again, no, the food was just not to my personal liking. Not to say others wont enjoy it. Give it a try for yourself.

Food was great, the portions are huge! Fresh and made to order The service was fantastic, quick and easy, folks were friendly It's a spot inside a liquor store so you order to go so that's why I gave it a 4. No spot to eat at Bummer you can't eat there but the food was still good when we got home Will be back for the lunch specials

I LOVE catfish, so I was REALLY looking forward to trying the food at this location. I Pre-ordered through Grub Hub at 2pm to have my Catfish Nugget Dinner delivered to me at 6pm. At 3:30pm I received a call stating: "your order is ready for pick-up." I informed the caller that I placed the order through GrubHub to be delivered between 6pm-6:15pm and that was the options the app gave me. The caller proceeded to ask me "Why did you order for a later delivery? And "My cook didn't know about the late delivery, so you have to come pick it up now." I repeated that I ordered it through GrubHub and the caller became angry and stated "Fine! I got you!" And hung up. My order was then delivered at 5:50pm. The order was cold and the packaging and food was soggy and wet from perspiration. I proceeded to heat the food. The photo that I took was what the food looked like AFTER I heated it in the oven. When I sat down to eat, I looked at the receipt and learned that this was the food that they had waiting since 2:02pm!!!!! I had to throw it all away out of fear that I would get sick. VERY disappointing and unacceptable! Don't offer delivery via GrubHub if you don't coordinate with them. I will never recommend this restaurant, nor will I be ordering again!! A call to the health department will follow.

The food is solid upon the first visit and was wowed immediately. The second time I went, I was bummed out smh. What I've learned is to NOT order at night or anything beyond maybe 7. I specified for the fish to be cooked hard... I do think the below pic is cooked hard, let alone cooked at all smh. A bomb place to eat when it's the right time though

Very good. Kind of reminds of the mom and pop fish stores in Los Angeles. I've ordered from this more than once.

I had reservations for a party of 2 on Saturday at 7:30pm. I don't think they even looked at the reservation system because when we walked in I told the lady at the front that I had reservations, and she never asked me for what time, or for my name. She just said okay our table isn't ready yet and it would be a ten minute wait. The two parties (presumably walk ins) in front of us were seated before us. I don't understand the purpose of having a reservation if we aren't going to be seated at our reservation time. However, we were seated by the anticipated wait time of ten minutes, so at least they provided an accurate wait time estimate. The menu showed Blue Point Oysters, Kumiai Oysters, Scallop on a Half Shell, and two Oysters of the day: Sol Azul and Jumbo. Turns out Sol Azul was sold out so we ordered Jumbo and Kumiai at $4/piece. For entrees, we ordered the lobster mac n cheese for a market price of $45, a pan roast, and grilled octopus. To drink we ordered two Sapporos. Turns out they only have bottles and do not have anything on draft. Oysters: I found these to be pretty good. I also like that they labeled which oysters were which. In comparison to the Oyster Bar, I did like these significantly better. However, they do come with a hefty price tag. Lobster mac n cheese: The menu states that the lobster mac n cheese is a WHOLE lobster with cheddar lobster mac n cheese, but it was indeed NOT a whole lobster, and just a lobster tail. This was disappointing for the price point. I had seen prior photos on Yelp and the lobster mac n cheese used to come with more lobster, and I was expecting something similar for that price point. However, the mac n cheese alone was fantastic and I would order just the mac n cheese (no lobster) again in a heartbeat. The description is just very misleading. Pan Roast: I had high hopes for this one, but it just didn't do it for me. My partner thinks they used frozen shrimps, and I found the sauce to be pretty thin with muted flavors. Unfortunately, it does not compare at all to the Oyster Bar for me. Grilled octopus: I wasn't the biggest fan, but my partner who doesn't like octopus liked this a lot. He thinks the reason I didn't like mine as much was because mine wasn't charred enough like his was. I found my octopus to be a little rubbery, and would consider it more of an appetizer than an entree considering the size of the dish. However, that garlic rice that comes on the side was delicious! Lastly, we ordered the tiramisu. I remember this one being very good. It was very large, had a great coffee flavor, and a bit of crunchy textures inside of it which was very fun. One thing that I thought was weird was we were given the bill before the dessert even came out. There was nobody waiting for our table, so I'm not sure what the rush was. I reminded her that we were still waiting on the dessert and she said that she knew. The fact that it wasn't an oversight and she wanted to give us the bill before we had received our full order was just odd to me for a sit down dining experience. The bill was also very pricey. There are two different prices, a cash price and a credit card price. I personally felt the oysters, octopus, mac n cheese, and Sapporos were overpriced. Overall - I don't think we will be back. I did really enjoy the mac n cheese (without the lobster), as well as the garlic fried rice, but I don't think I will return for those two items. Getting the bill before our entire meal was delivered to us, not following a reservation system, and a misleading menu rubbed me the wrong way.

We didn't really have definite plans while in town however we knew we had to go to the oyster bar at palace station!!! When we got there, we were pleasantly surprised with a short 30 minute wait!!! If you know, you know - the wait can most times be over an hour and even up to 4 hours! So we were delighted to wait 30 minutes! We all had some variation of the gumbo! I had the house gumbo with crab, shrimp, lobster, sausage and light okra. As per usual, it was outstanding! The female server - can't remember her name, was such a pleasure to talk to. Steve made out gumbo and he made sure to make it just right and it was piping hot when he served it. We met a nice Father and Son - who said they also eat at the bar every time they come to Vegas. It's literally a bar, but it's a pretty cool setup. I ordered a Paloma and it was really, really good. Service was okay, especially considering how busy they were and the limited seating. One thing I appreciated was that even with people waiting, they didn't make us feel rushed to eat and get out. Now the food? Straight BOMB. I'm used to ordering seafood gumbo or a pan roast with lobster and having to search for the actual seafood. Not here! They give you big, beautiful pieces of seafood, and the portions are huge. We made the mistake of ordering our own instead of paying attention to the people around us because we definitely could've shared. And a warning about the oysters: they are HUMONGOUS. Seriously, keep that in mind when deciding how many to order. Between the generous portions, quality seafood, and that Paloma, I can definitely see why there's always a line. Four stars for me!
