I had a panic attack not long after we set out and wanted to turn around or wait there for the group to pick me up on the way back but Rob took the time to talk me off the ledge telling me I could do it! He started near the back with me and helped me the whole way while still giving the others a great experience! I have gone out many times since and have even Kayaked down the Colorado river! I LOVE kayaking Now and couldn't wait until this year to get out there which we did yesterday!!! None of that would have been possible without this company and its wonderful owner who had more faith in me than I had in myself!! But I do now! I recommend this company to Everyone!

Seeking to ease her into a passion for paddling , I sought out a group experience on calm waters. Safe was the operative word. I saw a social media posting for a guided tour of the Connetquot charging a small fee for dropping in your own vessel. They run this tour weekend days. Until November. There was a group of about 17, some with their own kayaks or SUPs, others rented from the business. Rob provided great direction, was informative , and a genial host. Lisa and I probably had time during the 2 hours to have small conversations with everyone in the group. The canals and river were so easy to navigate, scenic, tranquil, even with some light powerboat traffic. Not an abundance of wildlife but we had a great close encounter with a great blue heron. We are probably comfortable doing this without guidance now, but might choose to join up again for the group experience! Check it out while the weather is fine and the waters are warm! P.S. - I fell out of the boat before we even launched. Looked the fool in front of all but that just started the day off with laughter.

They sell some incidentals at the shop, but didn't try to upsell. We were instructed to pick up the life jacket, but they brought the paddleboard over to the dock across the street. There was no demonstration, but it was easy enough to figure out that I started backwards on my board and the family was nice enough not to say anything about it (lol). We did a very short ride, an hour out in the water. The paddleboard and the paddle seemed well-maintained (not that I am an expert). The course they suggested was perfect as it gave us some time in the water. Because it was the height of the day, it was not very crowded out in the water, though I could see larger groups starting their rides by the time we came back to shore. It was a surprisingly pleasant experienced and I love that it's a family business. I would visit the Peconic Paddler again.

They helped us decide what would work best for our group. They gave us all life preservers and had us in the water and going within 5 min of arrival. Easy Peezy. You can go as long as you want or just do a quick float about. We did about a 2 mile trip, (took about 3 hours)we arrived at a small waterfall and the kids got to get out and play about a little. They loved it, don't forget your water shoes and your bathing suit. You cant really swim but you will get somewhat wet. Pack a lunch or go to the end where there is a spot to get out and grab and taco or some ice cream. Maybe both. The trip back went a little faster as you are going back with the current. If you are always wondering what to do with the kids ( of any age ) I highly recommend you try this place.

Despite having less than 30 hours on it, the engine wasn't running properly--and to make matters worse, Suzuki USAproved difficult in honoring the warranty due to the engine being imported. Nick went above and beyond for us. He was diligent and persistent in communicating with Suzuki on our behalf, even when the process dragged on for several months. His patience, expertise, and determination ultimately paid off: he was able to coordinate a full replacement of the engine, which had been deemed unrepairable. We can't thank Nick and the service department enough. They truly went the extra mile, and we highly recommend their service to anyone looking for knowledgeable, committed professionals who won't give up on getting the job done right.

From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. Kenny, the owner, is incredibly reliable and communicates clearly every step of the way while getting word done through them. It's rare to find marinas so dependable in this industry, and he really goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done right. Also Sal, who handles the electronics part of the work was awesome to work with. He was my Main connect to get things done. He took the time to explain everything and made sure all the systems were working perfectly before I left. Paint job came out 10/10, as well as the other work that was done including a whole new dash panel with switches Sal took care of Highly recommend this marina if you're looking for quality work, great people, and guys you can trust

PLEASE SAVE YOUR SELF AND DO NOT USE CHARLIE AND DONNA FOR YOUR BOAT REPAIR NEEDS…read more Donna is a flat out BS artist. She lies straight through her teeth and Charlie backs her up on it. I brought my boat in for a simple repair and it took WEEKS for them to "fix it" and when I was finally able to pick it up my bill was over 3,000. I asked what was wrong with it and Charlie couldn't even form one sentence to explain what it was. Mind you they did work I didn't approve of them doing. Whatever I paid and left.... but could not make it home because my boat broke down in their canal. Unbelievable. Brought it right back and they told me it's been bay tested and someone would look at it because they don't know why it happened. Charlie then proceeded to tell me if I can't afford to fix the boat I should not own one. Who the hell are you to say that to someone? Waited another 3 weeks for my boat and it still never ran right. Brought it to a different place and it was fixed within 3 days, only 600 to fix and it's been running GREAT ever since. All they care about is money. They do not care about fixing your boat. And will charge OVERLY charge you and get confrontational when you ask them about the prices they're charging. They're rude, lying, good for nothing pos! I even spoke with people who dock with them who say they are leaving after this season because they are horrible! Please save your self from this less than HALF A** marina.

Upon check-in we'd learned that the limit is typically 4 people (700 lb maximum), but since most of us are pretty small we were well under that weight limit even as five people, so they allowed it (and I lived to write this review so, all good). After signing my life away and a very quick motor tutorial by a kid who looked like he couldn't be older than middle school, we were on our way. The motor on this boat took a little getting used to, but once I got the hang of it I was a pretty good captain (I'd like to think). We put down the anchor and got out to explore Bird and Gull Islands, then headed over to another beach with a hill to climb up and get a bird's eye view of the area. Before we knew it, it was time to head back to the harbor, but we kept the party going with some drinks and food (will review that separately). Jay (who I think is the owner or manager?) told us we were only allowed to rent a boat if we took a picture and it turns out he was serious (see the photo shoot results in my photos which turned out pretty cute). He took these on his phone so not sure what else he plans to do with them.
