We chose the Hotel Dreiländerbrücke based on it's location (right in the triangle of Weil Am Rhein,…read moreGermany, Basel, Switzerland & St. Johann, France) & it has good reviews PLUS is a Best Western, meaning we could use our membership points & earn points. Arriving on a Sunday morning was a bit of a surprise, being our first adult visit to Germany & our first German hotel: we were unaware that, in Germany, EVERYTHING is closed on Sundays, except for hotels & a few restaurants. Arriving, you note that there is a mall connected to the hotel & a parking garage. Entering, it was a bit of a surprise to NOT see a reception area, as we were inside an area of the garage with an elevator. Reception is on the 6th floor. Once you arrive at reception, it's a beautiful place. Clean, modern, desk staff who speak English, brochures about the area & train schedules. The train stops next to the hotel/mall &, if you're confused, the staff are happy to help you with what train to take. The train, by the way, is only $8 for an all day ticket to anywhere it goes. The dining area is very nice, with a full bar & an outdoor patio area overlooking the park across the street. The hotel is actually 2 hotels, 1 side being newer & the hallway bright, with large, lit room number signs. The rooms are very spacious, & clean, including the bathroom, & there is a small refrigerator & a coffee pot. Real ceramic coffee cups & glass drinking glasses, not paper or Styrofoam. The refrigerator is also stocked with water, juice, candy & more but, as with all hotels, these cost you. If you want a robe during your stay, just ask Housekeeping. The Housekeeping staff even place a chocolate on your pillow. The other hotel side also has spacious rooms including a kitchenette. But, the hallway, though clean, is dimly lit. The laundry facility is in this side of the hotel, at the end of the hallway & was the only area of the hotel that needs work: dirty, small machines (only take German Marks, which you can get from the reception staff) & does not offer any detergent or softener, so you will need to go into the mall grocery store, or the DM store, to buy some. There is, however, a great view of the Three Countries Bridge & St Johann, France from the fire escape off of the laundry room. Getting TO the laundry room you must go by elevator or stairs to the 6th floor & walk through the dining room & reception area or, as we did, go to down 1 flight to the other side, then take the elevator or stairs to the 6th floor so you don't have to walk through the dining area with your laundry. The restaurant is nice & has a great menu of meals, wine & beer. We never ate breakfast in the dining room but, from what we saw, there is a good variety of food, buffet style. The bathroom does not have bar soaps, as all of the soaps, by the sink & in the shower, are liquid in dispensers. The shower is operated by a push button, which was nice & there is a heated towel rack with 4 large bath towels. Being by the mall & grocery store (think Target, with food, clothing, housewares, etc) is nice if you want to shop or buy some food. The bakery in the grocery store is amazing, as is the middle Eastern food stand in the food court. There is an elevator but also a flat "escalator" (think moving 'sidewalk' in an airport) to allow grocery carts, strollers, etc to easily go from floor to floor. Brilliant idea! The views are great from the rooms & the patio area of the restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to my family & friends.

Unfortunately half the building has no air conditioning and in July it is miserable. The only fan they provide is a janky half broken oscillating fan that barely blows. The operator I spoke to didunderstand English enough to even discuss our janky fan. If you are accustomed to a cooler sleeping environment, don't stay here. For the price we paid for this hotel they should have air conditioning.
