Exterior Clean but the parking lot has some pretty bad potholes. Interior Clean, but door was propped open and there were two large wasps or hornets that seemed to have appointed themselves to be the door greeters. Food I ordered my meal (2 piece fish, double coleslaw, no hushpuppies, sweet tea) in drive thru. But wait time was so long (car in front of me should have been asked to pull ahead) that I parked and went inside. The coleslaw had way too much dressing. It was so soupy that it looked like a big mound of grits or blue cheese dressing. See photos. I asked for 2 replacement sides and returned the hushpuppies the forgot to omit. The cashier seemed to think that I was complaining that it had too little green cabbage and that it was too white. I explained to him that it looked like there was too much dressing, not enough cabbage. In addition, the fish was extremely thin / tiny. It looked nothing like the fish I had on my recent visits. When I took a bite, instead of being flaky, it was tough and had a very strange, papery consistency. In fact, it didn't look, taste or have the mouth feel of any fish I've ever eaten. I suspect it was freezer burnt. The replacement broccoli was unseasoned and microwaved / mushy to the point of being inedible. Tea was so warm that it immediately melted the ice causing the tea to be watered down. Customer Service The cashier was polite, but seemed new. The manager (who was in the dining room taking his break) was very friendly and apologetic and even acknowledged that too much dressing had been used in the slaw. I interacted with the manager only because he called out to me from across the dining room to inquire about the problem after observing me standing at the counter waiting on the replacement sides. Overall Overall - no exaggeration - this is the worst meal I've ever had at any Captain D's location. I had a few more errands to run and didn't want the food smells trapped in my car, so after less than 5 minutes, I actually went back inside and to dump the food. I wound up trashing more than 95% of my meal. I had 2 bites of fish, and I only ate 2 of the french fries because they were piping hot, but with no salt / seasoning and just not worth the fat / calories. It says alot about a place when you tell the cashier you haven't eaten there in 5+yrs & they tell you they grew up in the area & passed the location a hundred times but never ate there until they started working there then they realized why they never ate there. SMH! The cashier seemed efficient except for when the drive thru got a little backed up & it sounded like no one was getting the correct orders. The lobby backed up too & one couple commented 1 person got a breadstick instead of hushpuppies & the other didn't get either. When they asked the cashier who asked the cook, the cook responded he didn't have any hushpuppies ready. Not sure why he didn't say anything or at least be consistent since the 2 meals were on the same check. The last guy who was there that had waited a very long time, got his food & his potato was not cooked so he returned it to the cashier & said could I just get fries, the potato isn't cooked. The cashier told the cook & the cook asked why so the cashier said "cause he said it tastes like sh*t". The customer asked the cashier to not say that especially to the cook because he'd be concerned about whatever he would get in return. The cashier said it was ok, he could say that - the customer didnt feel the same. The portion size was lackluster- I'd call their fish " fish fingers" because they are super skinny strips of fish. The grease is also a huge factor. Like the food leaves a film in your mouth. The soda was not fizzy but acceptable. I ordered Cole slaw & broccoli - both were good for what they were. But, all that aside, the BIGGEST issue during my visit was the # of times the workers used profanity or degraded the customers in the drive thru. Like OMG! I heard "F*ck" no less than 15x, "B*tch" made its appearance as well as probably 20x "Sh*t" was yelled out. The person from the back who appeared to be in charge since he told a guy hanging out at the counter that he had previously hired him got the top prize for "Mother F*cker". It wasn't me that I was worried about, it was the 10yr old girl there with what looked like her grandparents who shook their head when the little girl reacted to the profanity. Truly NOT acceptable in the workplace. I get it, it may be the area, the typical customers or the workplace friend vibe, but that type of behavior is best left to the street not the place of business. Matter of fact when I entered & came to the counter the cashier was taking a drive thru order but he cut them off & came to assist me. He said "I've had enough of them, I don't have time for them they gotta get it together then we can talk". Maybe he was confused thinking I was on his team but if he said that about a faceless customer in the drive thru then I'm sure he say that about the ones dining inside. All-in-all a pretty cr*ppy dinner experience that left me feeling greasy from head to toe. Like the cashier, I probably wouldn't eat here ever again. read more

I would avoid this Captain D's. The service and quality of food has declined in the last several years. I order the 10 piece family fish strips, some of the strips were under cooked and some were cooked properly. The sides were fries and okra both were undercooked. The fish strips that Captain D's has been famous for has changed. The fish strips have changed to some processed fish, much like processed chicken nuggets. BTW: it doesn't taste like fish anymore. I ordered Fish and Garlic Butter Shrimp which was on the order board in the drive thru for $5,99. After I went through the entire order I was told there was 1 side and I added fries for that side. Then I was told (and I quote), "We aren't serving that right now because we just got it in." I said, "Nevermind then. I don't want anything." The response was simply, "Have a nice day."This is the norm for this location. They never have the specials but only the fish. The parking lot of this shop also has massive potholes and they have been there for years. I find the employees to be rude, uncaring, and at times obnoxious when they say such things as "what's the matter wichew?" I used to like Captain Ds food but this franchise has ended that. Please consider closing it down and opening a location somewhere near Marietta Georgia that actually goes by your corporate standards. I am also reporting this to corporate. read more

I ordered Captain D's Deluxe Seafood Platter and received the wrong order and noticed this when I returned from my 20 minute drive home. I returned to the restaurant, another 20 minute drive, and watched one associate, Shannel, who took my order, scold the cook for making the wrong order. Shannel explained that she was having a bad day, and she had the most obnoxious attitude. OMG!!! These people are the worst! I arrived at 9:56, on Halloween night, the cashier and some young man was in the drive thru window and seem to be doing something very inappropriate. Once I made it to the speaker, no one would say anything. I was ordering food for my friend's mother and was running late. So I drove around to the window where this young lady would not make eye contact.... Kept looking towards the back, the same young lady that seem to be doing something inappropriate at the window earlier with some young man. She finally open the window and asked what I wanted, they were closed, I asked for her name and the manager on duty. She gave me Emily while covering her name tag, slammed the window and slinging her wig as she walked away. The manger never appeared. At this point I didn't want to order anything. I got a Doordash order yesterday, the presentation of the food was great. The hush puppies are alright, the batter on the fish was really full of oil. Unfortunately the food at this place has given me terrible food poisoning and I've been vomiting all morning. This place is so dirty! Do they have change the oil they fry the food in? All my food was soggy and greasy. I could not eat any of it! The floors are so greasy you slide on them and the table was dirty. There was no one in there but my hubby and I. I won't even mention the bathroom! I order 2 giant fish sandwich combos and an extra side of okra. The only thing that was edible and fresh was the side of okra. I get home and deconstruct the fish sandwich because I know the breading is too thick. The fish was clearly old and had been sitting for quite some time. What I wasn't expecting though was brown lettuce. Brown. Like you looked at that and actually made it for someone to eat seeing that the fish was old and the lettuce was brown?! The service was great. The manager doesn't know any strangers. The food was what I expected....delicious!! The restaurant was very clean.

The manager was extremely rude and confrontational. I stop by the drive through to make a order while on the phone with my wife. I was telling my wife, never mind in a conversation we were having the manager must have miss took it as If I was talking to him. So when I went to make my order I was saying hello hello ' cause I thought he had went away and he came back to the mic saying hello hello what what do you want You said never mind. so I pulled around to the front and knocked on the window to have a conversation with him about the manner in which he spoke to me, But he continue to be disrespectful, so I just walked away. I'm pretty sure this is not the way you train your staff to be especially a manager.
