Kay and Jonathan gave us lots of suggestions for places to dine and we spent the evening exploring the area. Later that night after dinner we lounged on deck - enjoying the night air. Our accommodations in the captains quarters gave us a first hand taste of what living on a boat is like from the gentle rocking and splashing sounds against the hull to the unusual blender-like action when you flushed the head (that's boating lingo for toilet to you land lubbers!) Just two blocks off the sand, we took a 3 mile walk on the beach the next morning and came back to a wonderful breakfast and generous amounts of coffee! Then Jonathan treated us to a little tour in and around the surrounding marinas on their dinghy Bad Dog. It was the perfect way to cap off the stay. If you are looking for a unique place, if the idea of life on a boat intrigues you, if you are willing to exchange the cookie cutter experience of a chain motel for a one of a kind, authentically nautical overnight experience (with all the quirks that entails) this is the place for you.

It is spring break and it was 65 degrees outside which isn't cold at all but for going to a water park it's like being in Antarctica. The pools aren't heated even though on the website it says the water stays 80-84 degrees at all times. The lazy river is quite dirty. There was some bugs and leaves in there. The bathrooms and changing rooms were very clean. The slides are the most fun part of the park. The bigger looking one that requires you to go on with a floaty is the best and I also really like the side one. The lazy river is the most warmest for some reason. Hope it's not pee........ Overall a decent and pretty fun waterpark only if you are cold resistant and if you like slides and lazy rivers.

So why not five stars? Mainly because of the lack of communication. Leading up to the start of camp, the only information we had was from the sheet we filled out months before to reserve our spot. An introductory email would be incredible. Also, the paper handed out to parents about the presentation had the wrong time on. I was only able to confirm the actual time because we attended with a good friend who had the owner's phone number. Tightening up the communication would take Suncoast's Summer Camps from being amazing to perfect!

I…read morecome down to Bradenton to perform every year and have had a YMCA Nationwide membership for about a decade. have never had an issue with using my membership at other YMCAs, but this time the Y let me know that I could come in for free the first time, but after that I would be charged 6.00 per visit. The front desk person was very helpful when I inquired further and she explained that since most of their clients are visitors, their equipment was getting used but they didn't receive any of the membership due money from visitors and it was really affecting them. While I appreciate this, it sounds like there needs to be more of an internal discussion within the YMCA nationwide program. We discussed some of the possible options and the easiest, though still inconvenient one, was to suspend my hometown account and then start up an account at the Bradenton Branch. However, there didn't seem to be a way to bypass the enrollment fee and so I would have to pay that and then ultimately close the membership down after my three month contract in Bradenton ends in January. It was one too many hurdles to hop over to join a gym I have already joined. While I respect that this YMCA needs to make changes so that their facility can continue to prosper, I am disappointed that a program the YMCA touts as "Nationwide" isn't really. The ability to go to YMCAs all over was one of the major reasons why my family opted to join.

We rented a fishing pole and bought some shrimp from Annie's bait shop next door (didn't catch anything though). If you fish, I think you need a Florida fishing license, which non residents can get for $17 online and it's good for 3 days. Dale programmed dolphin and fishing and sandbar spots into the GPS. It was easy to find them and stop. The only reason I gave 4 stars is price. Currently, other companies say they will deliver for a full day rental for the same cost as 4 hours at H20.
