Took the defective rod back next day (72 hours after purchase) and asked to trade in for a different non-Daiwa rod. They refused and told me to call Daiwa for a warranty rod. Was actually a fan of JD until this happened. I'm headed back to Crook and Crook for my tackle needs, they sold me a sweet Proteus XH. No more JD for this former customer. Not nice to treat a loyal customer like that! Would have doubled my spend on the replacement rod!

But I read that this place has live bait, so I went, and I saw a sign outside that says live shrimp, and was happy that I'd get shrimp at the very least. There were no shrimp, and the guy wouldn't even cover the sign. I asked the worker, and he said very coldly: "no live bait". I asked if he had anything else since I saw some pinfish. He said the same thing coldly while not even looking at my face, and he just seemed irritated at my presence. Then some other customers came in, and his demeanor completely changed. The worker is black, and the customers were black, so I don't know if he doesn't like other races of people or what. But I wouldn't be surprised. My dad is friendly, so he tried to socialize with the guy, and nothing, his face was expressionless with us, and it was just surprising that he gets any customers at all. Stuff was overpriced, and I didn't like his attitude, the fact that the sign was misleading so we left. Other bait shop owners have told me about their frustrations with him. How the owner doesn't care about the shop, and won't replace his rude worker. Since he definitely doesn't reprimand him.
