I had the worst experience with Mike and his team at Capstone direct. As a younger couple buying our second home we felt in the dark through the whole process. Mike and his team were never on the same page and we had to send the same paperwork over multiple times. Mikes emails always came a day late from what his team was asking. As a woman when ever Mike would speak to me it was unprofessional and rude. Speaking down to me, cussing during conversations, and sighing as if questions I was asking were beneath him. Mike spoke more with my realtor about my personal information then with me. If I could have backed out of processing my loan with Mike I would have. I do NOT recommend Capstone Direct to anyone looking to buy a home or refinance. read more

Definitely the worst lender experience I've ever had. Mike Wise told me he could refi my home and take out $50k for home improvements. After sending him every document I had, paystubs, tax returns, bank statements, etc... and then waiting well over 3 months with numerous emails saying we'll be closing soon and in the end he tells me he can't do it and dumps the refi. They paid for all costs, other than my HELOC subordination and of course, my interest that was due on the old loan. Capstone is a very good provider of mortgage refinance. My husband and I were 2 months into the refinance process with Navy Federal Credit Union. Having prior background in the mortgage industry, I was completely appalled with the lack of progress, communication, and customer service from NFCU. Our experience with Capstone was horrendous! Agent didn't have a clue about how reverse mortgages worked in Calif. Agent totally dropped the ball, lost forms that were faxed to him, never contacted us to let us know how our loan was going. We only heard from him when we contacted his boss. Agent was inept at his job, unprofessional. The way our account was handled by Capstone as unprofessional as it could be. Result was we lost $5000 because the broker didn't have a clue as to how reverse mortgages worked in Calif. Don't let this happen to you!!!
