Stayed here a few times now as I had to be in Rockville Centre and Hewlett at break of dawn for…read morework. The location is quite convenient and easy to find as it is on a corner of a major highway/intersection. Initial impressions this is your standard looking HIE although parking seems a touch sparse for the size of the hotel. I have never had to park elsewhere but it has been close to capacity every time. Check in/out was a breeze. The room was nice and clean (and comfy). Two outlets free just above the work desk (could use more but 2 at least is good). Wifi was good but at times inconsistent. In my speed tests the average was about 4mbps down and just under .5mbps up speed. There was times that the bottom dropped out but not for any length of time that prohibited me from connecting to client locations to do work. There is plenty of stuff (food options, big Key Foods grocery store across the street) within a really short driving distance.... walking ? not so much (but the LIRR is probably only a 10 min walk) Amenities: microwave, fridge, TV (a little older), hair dryer Complaints? the TV remote was so worn you could not read the numbers, and the battery cover was falling off (very minor issue), the water pressure was not great - even on the super soak full blown shower setting (although temp was consistent and nice n' hot) Breakfast was pretty nice. They had pre prepped omelet things that made it easy to make a fast food style breakfast sandwich. There was bacon, sausage patties (a bit bland), cereal, a pancake maker (was on the fritz), and a fridge with yogurt. So grabbing a good ole chobani on the go was a plus imo. The coffee was also surprisingly decent. This was nearly perfect for the overnight business trip. I would stay here again no problem. Work picked up the tab - $152 for the night.

They never cleaned even though I called up after the first night to tell them I had spilled some coffee on carpet and some on the side of the bed sheet. They said they had no house cleaning at that time but I figured they'd send someone the next day. Nope. Went down and pinged then on that a couple of days later. Nothing. From what I hear, cleaning is now done much more infrequently everywhere but christ! The inclusive breakfast was lame. I can't believe I spent over $200/night for this.

It's located right across from a train station, and there are a lot of restaurants, stores, etc. in walking distance. Staff were also nothing but kind and courteous. Though renovated in recent years, this is an older motel (all rooms accessible only from outside), which makes the nightly rate seem like a reach. However, factor in free breakfast, free parking, and the aforementioned location, and it becomes more palatable. Our room was clean, and, thankfully, everything worked as intended. Between random sirens and people walking around outside all the time, it wasn't exactly a quiet stay, but that was to be expected. Be forewarned that the beds here run firm, which may make sleeping difficult if you're used to a softer mattress. Overall, Best Western Mill River Manor served our needs. It's unlikely to impress you, but if you're simply looking for a place to lay your head that isn't incredibly sketchy, it will fit the bill.

After checking in, I was surprised hearing this from staff because the Best Western site we booked from had pics of the pool & even reads "full-service amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and guest laundry." But of course, as you scroll below through the entire site.. it says on the bottom .. "We apologize for any inconvenience and want to make you aware we are awaiting some repairs to our pool and are unsure what date it will be open this year." I hate that my family and I were thrown off by the pool photos and site description, but at least this statement was all the way down below. For the price, it definitely feels like my check-in experience wasn't fully worth it. Thankfully there were no other major issues with my stay. Check-in staff was friendly and efficient. The housekeeping staff did well in cleaning my room daily. Breakfast offered was warm and freshly delicious, and was a delightful way to start a busy day. Parking is free and was convenient enough to always find a spot. Lots of ways to go upstairs to get to my room quickly. AC worked perfectly, water temp was great (just low water pressure), and wifi was easy to connect to. Couple other minor issues: On the last day, one of the 2 beds made us all feel itchy unfortunately and hopefully they weren't bed bugs. When I closed the bathroom door my first night, for some reason it locked from the outside and so we couldnt use the restroom. Thankfully front desk was quick to answer despite it being late and a security staff came very quick to open it for us!! I think a 3-star stay perfectly described my experience as it could have been better and it could have been worse.

Room was filthy, Roaches in the bathroom. Hairs on the bedsheets. Paint peeling from ceilings.TV did not work at all. We slept in our clothes at the end of the bed, as we were afraid to sleep on what looked like dirty sheets. So much drug activity going on all night, people peeing in stairwell, homeless people sleeping on sidewalks in front of rooms, emotionally disturbed/drug addict lurking around rooms and vehicles. All this luxury for $200 per night. Washed my face with a towelette from my travel bag in the morning. Too grossed out to shower. DO NOT listen to anyone who is praising this place. They must be getting paid for their compliments. Truly horrible experience.

Ok, so I'll preface this by saying that I get an airline discount since I am a Flight Attendant. So I've never paid full price, in fact I don't even know what it is. And they don't nickle and dime you to death. This hotel is extremely popular with airline commuters. There are flight attendants and pilots who stay here on a very regular basis - so much so that they know everyone who works at the hotel. I've only stayed at the Sunrise 3 times, but I'd definitely go back again. The hotel staff is very friendly and they treat us well. As said above, the rooms have been renovated. They are very nicely decorated (for a budget hotel) - in warm gold tones. The bathrooms have marble countertops. There is a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave in every room. There is also FREE high speed internet in every room, which to me is huge. The beds are very comfortable - honestly the mattress rivals the heavenly beds at Westins. The hotel is directly across from the train station if you need to get around. There are is shopping nearby (I believe Target, TJ maxx, etc.) and a grocery store all within walking distance. I've gotten chinese and italian delivered. They offer a typical budget hotel free breakfast in the mornings. There is a free shuttle service from JFK every 30 minutes. I'm not sure about LGA, you'd have to call them and ask. They will also take you to a gym (I believe it's a Bally's) at no charge. So this hotel has everything that airline commuters want, and we stay in alot of hotels - clean rooms, comfortable beds, food nearby, friendly staff, near the airport, and a reasonable price.
