Capri was a life changing experience. After visiting the Castelo de Sao Jorge, wandering around Alfama, and taking the adorable tram through the streets of portugal, my dad and I were STARVING.
Stumbled into what looked like a tiny bakery, but one glance at the menu and we were sold. A variety of fried and sauteed fish dishes, steak, pork, chicken, and other vegetarian options; all looked appealing. We settled for the seafood stew and the fried swordfish, or espada. Both were INCREDIBLE. I have never tasted fresher, better seasoned fish in my life. The swordfish was perfectly cooked in a batter than had a hint of spice and lemon juice. It was served with a delicious salad and olive oil dressing, and soft white rice.
My dad's seafood stew was a perfect blend of mystery spices vegetables, and 5 different types of fish that were all delicious. The bread served with the stew was delicious and fresh (it is a bakery after all!).
The Sagres beer on tap was the perfect drink with the fish. Missing this restaurant already!! read more
