With no particular destination in mind after a successful trip to Fox Town, we decided to hop in our Swiss DeLorean and travel back to 1985 for a drink. While the decor here may not have aged quite so gracefully, the view of Lake Lugano is what you're really coming here for.
Our visit was purely beverage related - we enjoyed a few glasses of bubbles at a table by the window, and spent a solid half hour just taking in the views. Despite the spectacular views and the fact that it was definitely lunchtime, the restaurant was dead - there were only two other groups seated in a sea of at least 30 or 40 empty tables.
The drinks were great, but it took forever to flag someone down to pay the bill, which was surprising given there were no less than 5 staff members doing various, random things at all times, just never actually looking in our direction.
I will say - even though we didn't eat, the food photos that are posted do look pretty good, though other reviews seem to be all over the place.
The other table closest to us ordered fillet mignon well done (it was hard not to overhear that tidbit of cringeworthy information), so in no way to I trust their judgement on anything else they ordered - but I won't let that sad piece of now rubberized meat be the sole indicator of the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen.
Great for drinks with a view, and I'd say the food is probably a roll of the dice. read more
