I like The Village, as us locals call it. My only complaint is the gossip here. Most people are super nice but there is an older crowd of regulars that can be cliquey and gossipy. I call it High School with wrinkles. But it all good. I love them anyway!!

Really cute area to shop and eat. I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old and I wouldn't bring them here unless we were going to spend time at the beach. The shops and restaurants are more for the adult crowd. Luckily, I scouted this area out with my husband first to discover this. There is a lot of paid parking and it was $1 an hour, which is so cheap compared to the Santa Cruz boardwalk (which was $30 flat). We enjoyed walking around all the shops. You won't find any super touristy shops here, they all seemed to be boutiques. There is a row of colored houses that you see in all the pictures. You can go walk by them and they are a great photo backdrop. There were a lot of cute restaurants too. They have a Margaritaville, which I think is fun. Overall, if you are in the area it is worth coming here and spending a couple hours eating and shopping.

There's still beautiful sites around the area. It's not as exciting on weekdays, but you can still spot a few tourists here and there. Street parking can cost $4 these days for 2-hours. Public restrooms are right across the beachfront area near the statue of seals. You can watch the surfers near rocks catching big waves and listen to the sound of ocean waters. It gets very windy in the high tides area. Walk at your own risk. Restaurants are usually open later in the day, so check out the hours before visiting. I noticed many smaller retail shops are closed. Not sure if that's permanent with the economy these days. Very walkable with a few interesting spots to take photos. If you haven't been out here in awhile, note that the Spring weather is improving, so you can catch more clearer blue skies on warmer days outside. Cute architectures nearby. Must love walking, photography, and sight seeing as much as I do. Pet friendly area. I think it's less exciting after the pandemic, but hopefully, life will return by Summertime. Take a walk down the wharf bridge too. Place isn't huge, but it's a great stop for dining at restaurants nearby.

Capitola Village is such a lovely and picturesque community along Capitola Beach. Walking around here is very refreshing because there are a lot of small boutiques, shops, cafes, and restaurants. It might be a bit difficult to find parking spots because this is a heavily tourist destination. There are many vibrant and colorful houses along the beach, and you can definitely take Instagram-worthy photos there. I believe the colorful houses are used for Airbnb or hotels, as I saw many signs that suggest so. It seems like these homes are very prone to floods, especially during stormy seasons. I've seen news where the huge tidal waves would run through the homes and flood them. So if you're planning to rent out one of the homes, make sure you plan accordingly.

If you're a local, you know this a great place to spend a couple hours. If you're visiting from out of town, it's absolutely a must see. Tons of little shops and places to eat. Parking right I front of the beach, also a local favorite surfing spot off to the left of the beach. However, a recent storm left some of the businesses cleaning up after the storm surge, call ahead for the restaurants, otherwise most of the smaller businesses are open.

This is a very pretty small town with a nice beach, good atmosphere and friendly people. Restaurants with a nice sea view will be a good choice. We will come back again someday.

Lovely place to getaway to. Always super clean and it's stunning. Quick access to the beach and near food and coffee shops.

2 weeks ago my boyfriend, my daughter and I stopped by, we grabbed lunch at Pizza My Heart, ice cream at Souza Cones Ice Cream & Candy and visited Capitola Historical Museum to learn some history! This has been my favorite village for a few years now to visit since it's right by the beach so you can grab your food to enjoy a nice view and the people are really nice here as well! A great place to plan your next vacation!! I would highly recommend visiting this amazing village and we are looking forward to our next visit to explore more of what they have to offer! Not to mention it was just 4 minutes away from Quality Inn & Suites Capitola By the Sea we stayed at! Support small and local!

Parking only cost $1.00 per hour, but make sure to arrive early for nearby parking. Great area to stroll and take wonderful photo ops. The Capitola Village is a sight to be seen, but make sure to not disturb the residents since they do live there lol. Beautiful beach to relax while the sun rise and sets. If you're hungry or want to grab a drink, check out The Sand Bar!

I love Capitola and all the restaurants and shopping. I try to stop in when I can and the people are always down to earth and love the beach vibe. Parking can be an issue in the village, but they have lots of parking up above. The beaches are nice in the summer and great for finding seaglass and shells when the tide is out. Capitola is just a quaint little town with lots to offer.

Beautiful views, colorful buildings, plenty of yummy restaurants/cafes, and some cool shops to venture on. This is my first time at exploring Capitola. They have a good sized beach, although not the clearest waters, it still provides a nice place for family and kids to hang out on our even have a nice walk. There is a wharf with a large bridge located to the left side that features a restaurant at the end. One thing many might be familiar with Capitola are the vibrant colored homes that can be rented out as hotels/vacation homes for a short stay while you're exploring the area. The only downside id say is that parking can be quite a pain so definitely arrive before noon on the weekends, or you can try parking a bit down Capitola Ave/Stockton St and walk a few minutes away.

Such a nice, fun, beautiful area to walk around. It has restaurants and unique shops. The painted houses on the beach side are so picturesque. We came when it was too cold to swim/hang on the beach, but we plan to come back to enjoy a summer day!
