Omg love love love this place. My Lilo is obsessed with the dried duck feet here. Just grabbed some more and chicken feet, and beef tendons too. I also got some awesome doggie "pies" for her and my bfs dog to have something special on thanksgiving. Plus my pup really loves their mix and match treats. I also grabbed some pup wine and cat wine for my sis and I to enjoy. I also think that the service here is just top notch and friendly. Very helpful. Def found my new fave local pet store where I can spoil my little Lilo!

This pet store is sooooo cute! High quality pup goodies you can't find at big pet stores. The owner was so helpful as I needed a harness for my dog urgently. My dog loves this harness and it doesn't press against his throat. The treats are homemade and Sherlock loved them! Thanks!

    Pet Emporium - Out front

As someone who actually worked for Maryann for years, I feel the need to speak up because Gemma's…read morereview paints a very unfair and exaggerated picture of both her and the team at Pet Emporium. Maryann has always cared deeply about her employees and the store. She has a sarcastic sense of humor and a strong personality, which people who don't actually know her can easily misunderstand. But calling her "abusive" is not accurate. I personally never felt anything other than appreciated, supported, and cared for while working there. It's also disappointing to see a teenager publicly labeled as "lazy" in a review. For many young employees, a pet store is a first job and a learning experience. Instead of tearing people down online, a little patience and kindness would go a lot further. Running a small business, especially a pet store, is incredibly difficult, and customers rarely see the amount of work, stress, time, and personal sacrifice that goes into keeping the doors open. Employees naturally come and go over the years because many move on to school, careers, and new opportunities. That's normal and not some dramatic reflection of the business itself. My experience at Pet Emporium was genuinely positive, and I'll always look back on my time there fondly. I'm grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the care Maryann showed me during the years I worked there. I'm happy to see the business still going, and I think people should remember there are real human beings behind these reviews before making deeply personal attacks online, Gemma.

Oh Ashley - I see your loyalty and while its admirable - its falsely placed. Who knows if you even…read moreworked for her. This is YELP where we review honestly. You mentioned the owner being sarcastic and such. Thats fine. How about when she clearly told her employee to go on break and then a fish order arrived to which she was unhinged about "WHERE THE F IS $$$$$$ AT?" and when that employee arrives back from break she is insulted in front of customers and a WRITE UP NOTICE is thrown in her face. For literally doing what she was told to do but because the fish order arrived, its a punishable offense? Well, that employee quit a few days later. How about when an employee was hired, not trained at all on anything, thrown into the mix and when working their butt off was cussed out in front of my sister and my aunt for literally doing their best? Ok - No. And your sympathy for the teen - aww thats cute - but NO. Being a teen is no excuse for not getting off your phone ever and the owner chewing out the other employees. Being a teen doesnt mean you get to be lazy, do nothing, and never work. Heck, if thats the case, sign me up and let me be paid to sit on my BUTT. Anyways, the sarcasm you proclaim as a character asset is not the issue. Writing up staff for working their butts off but never pleasing the candy crush queen is ridiculous. The granddaughter is never there so she isnt to blame but I wont EVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. My entire family will never shop here again. TREATING YOUR EMPLOYEES LIKE UTTER CRAP IS NOT OK AND HOW DARE YOU ACR LIKE IS MORE OFFENSIVE TO CALL A TEEN LAZY THEN IT IS TO TERRORIZE AND ABUSE STAFF. I am a decent kind CHRISTIAN but I am also a staunch boss and savvy businesswoman. I WOULD NEVER EVER DEFEND MY CHARACTER BY HAVING OTHERS ATTACK SOMONE WHO WITNESSED MY ABUSE. FIRST RULE IN BUSINESS - The customer is always right. I AM RIGHT. All 4 of the employees I know of who were mistreated have quit on top of the others I know who are also gone but I did not WITNESS the abuse. I could go on and on about how many events I know of. The writing up your staff and adding in nasty rude comments is to much. Shouldnt abuse your staff in front of customers. I hope that people start writing HONEST REVIEWS. Instead of urging friends to make them up.

They insisted on catering to someone else who didn't end up adopting which we 10000% knew would happen. Had to drive back which is a total of 6 hours for us roundtrip. Would say it's worth it cos we got to adopt who we wanted but people here have no consideration and no common sense to choose a family that has experience and willing to spend money for medical expenses versus someone who has other dogs and MIGHT BE interested. No apologies from the lovely ladies at front desk. The actual supervisor and everyone else that works with the dogs were lovely. Happy to have our little guy but the front desk literally need to go pet a dog. Please.

I recently had an indoor cat whom had an altercation with a bat that somehow got into my house…read more Per the veterinarian I was told to bring the bat in for testing since there was blood involved. I was a bit taken back that I had to pay them 325.00 to have it tested for rabies. So it wasn't tested due to a very expensive hospital visit and I didn't have the extra funds for testing. I spent the night at the Emergency room because I was scratched up quite a bit and now my cat is in quarantine with no clear answers. I find it frustrating because i thought it was important for the results of possible rabies exposure. So I guess if your animal has an altercation with a bat no need to have it tested unless you can afford it. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

The Rabbit Haven - Rabbit Haven Bunny Hop

TRH recently brought back the Rabbit Haven Bunny Hop, which I attended at Pet Food Express in…read moreCampbell this past weekend, and I am ecstatic. How could I not love sitting in a spacious enclosure surrounded by adorable bunnies during this bunny play day event! Breeds of all kinds (holland lops, netherland dwarfs, lionheads, rex rabbits, and a variety of mixes) running around, exploring tunnels, and climbing cardboard castles, having a magic garden party with a feast of cilantro, parsley, willow, banana slices, and more at cafe bunz (on one side of the play area), munching on hay, making friends with other bunnies, and just having the time of their lives. The space for bunnies and their owners was much larger and the event seemingly more organized than the last time I attended (pre-covid). The volunteers definitely had a system going on. But the health check and check-in process caused some delays in getting the bunnies in, and there was also a line for the nail trims they were doing on this day. But once my bunnies got settled in, they joined the other furry cuties on the floor, getting spoiled with treats, and pets and attention from the humans on site. There was also charming bunny themed merchandise for sale. For bunnies, bunny owners, and bunny lovers, this is a dream! The Rabbit Haven is already great in the services they provide (mainly in the south bay), rescuing injured and abandoned rabbits, offering monthly bunny nail trims, pet store discounts on oxbow products, pet adoptions and fostering, bunny bonding assistance, and plenty of resources on their website for good bunny doctors in the bay area, as well as news and information regarding bunny vaccinations, best practices, and more. They've been taking care of my bunnies (current and past) for at least the last decade. Services usually take place at pet stores in the south bay. And the volunteers are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I appreciate the Rabbit Haven for all that they do. You'll see me and my fur babies at the Bunny Hop regularly. Now, if only they could bring back SJ's Bunny Fest (please!?!).
