Service and quality of Steve and his team at Capitol were terrific. Couldn't ask for more.

When it was time to pick our flooring, my husband and I went looking for a floor in our given price range. We went to Home Depot and Floor and Decor and picked out flooring that we liked. Alexis kept telling us that she had a place for us to pick out flooring and kept avoiding talking about flooring we like from other companies. Since we were into the project for approximately 8 months already due to COVID, we decided to go with her contact. We wound up picking a floor with their contact, but we're concerned about how thin the flooring was since it was going over tile that was under our original pergo We were told not to worry about it and that they would make sure that everything was done right. About a month after install, the floor started buckling. We callEd All Island to ask Jay, the owner to come take a look at the floor. He said it would cost us $7,000 to redo the floor. We explained that we had reservations about putting this thin floor in, given our circumstances and that Alexis assured us that it would be fine and they'd take care of it. Jay told us flat out that he would replace it for another $7,000. Since then the floor has been separating in many places and even sticking up. We cut our feet on it and my husband had to tape it down. Since we only looked at samples and don't know the company they got this floor from, we have no warranty on it and have to redo the entire floor ( in four rooms of my home) costing us $9,000 more only four years later. The reason we waited these few years was because we knew it was going to cost a lot to redo this floor. Now we are in the process of getting it done right at a big cost. Home Depot professions said they don't even sell less than 8mm thick flooring, but All Island installed 5mm even after our concerns. I have many pictures of this disaster. When Jay visited us, he went around our kitchen kicking the planks to close up multiple gaps. The flooring was a big part of this disaster, but there is way more that happened with the crew that was working on our project. Paint splatter on our brand new windows and screens, holes left in corners of the room, kitchen cabinet handles screwed in crooked, grout started falling out of the backsplash tiles, and I could go on. Wish they would have done right by us.

From the onset of this issue, you immediately gave us the comfort we needed and we knew we would get through a desperate situation with you by our side. This damage had the potential of shutting down our family daycare business. However, with your quick response and the way you stayed on top of the insurance company, while paying very close care and attention to all of our needs, we were able to maintain daily care for the children without any interruption. This meant so much to us, as well as the families whose children's care I am responsible for. We are so appreciative of the job your crew did, not only with such great skill but with care, kindness and enthusiasm. We are telling everyone we know that if they need help with any water or fire issues, you are the crew to call - without question! Thank you all so much for a job SUPERBLY done which forever will be EXTREMELY appreciated!

They refuse to give us their insurance information to put in a claim...they told us to get a subpoena. Why not give us the information and let insurance investigate it? Corporate is no help either, they couldn't care less about what we are going through. Our son was hospitalized because of mold exposure due to improper mitigation of water in our house. Aren't these people supposed to be in the business of helping people? I wouldn't recommend them to our worst enemy or wish the hell we are in on anyone. Attached are just a small amount of the pictures we have. Wet furniture was left behind, walls were NOT probed for moisture. It's a joke that these people call themselves professionals. ***In response to Steven's claims*** To start this response, I want to put out there that I do not relish having this conversation in this forum. Nobody wins arguing over the internet. That being said, I did want to set the record straight after your response. This is frustrating as I provided you with this information both verbally AND in writing, and yet several points STILL need to be clarified. 1. You were indeed called to our home on Saturday, August 18th, 2018. As per your paperwork, you then removed your equipment 3 days later on August 21st, 2018. The dated photographs performed by industry professionals show water saturation both on August 21st, 2018 and August 24th, 2018. I do not consider that to be a completed job. According to multiple other people in the SERVPRO family, the proper procedure is to obtain a signed waiver if you are instructed to cease work and remove equipment before you deem the mitigation to have been completed. As per our conversations, you did not obtain a signed waiver and you felt the job was complete. 2. We have 2 separate issues with mold in our house. One is improperly placed siding. This left a small section of the sill plate at one corner of the house exposed and thus allowing a small amount of water penetration. This has accounted for a small fraction of the mold problem in our home. The other source of the mold in our home (and by far the larger of the two factors) was the intrusion and poor mitigation of water in 2018. The small area of mold caused by the exposed sill plate cannot and does not explain the large amounts of mold throughout two floors of our home. 3. Your recollection of our conversations is incomplete. I relayed that multiple experts in your field said the water mitigation was incomplete and likely directly contributing to the mold issue. You told me that they were wrong, that you couldn't just go around opening walls and ripping up floors- that if you did, you "would no longer be SERVPRO, you would be StevenPRO." Yes, I was and still am dissatisfied with the mitigation and repair work performed by the contractor, I am also dissatisfied with the water mitigation efforts performed by your company. 4. You did not provide any data the Farm Family insurance adjuster requested. He explicitly requested your insurance carrier information so that they could start communicating about this claim and discussing where the fault lies. You also declined to provide us with that information, stating that we would have to "subpoena it out of you." 5. The claim has not yet been denied. The company is in fact sending a professional engineer to our home this week to evaluate our home and will report to Farm Family insurance. Therefore, your portrayal of us being denied and then pursuing you is not even possible. You really should get your facts straight before you begin accusing people of actions they did not commit. In conclusion, I appreciate your well wishes for my family. It is hard for me to believe them as we have been left homeless by this situation (one cannot live safely in high levels of Stachyboctris, Aspergillus/Penicillium, and others) and all that we asked of you was to provide us your insurance information so that we could have them investigate the matter along with Farm Family insurance. I can see how this matter is incomprehensible to you. Perhaps if you take the time to fully read this information along with the other information I provided, then you will have the correct facts and possibly start to comprehend the situation. As for the at fault party, a higher authority will evaluate this matter and determine the levels of fault of all involved.

They did not seal off unaffected areas as a result they caused a HUGE mold problem in our home. We never had mold in our home. Attempted to falsify testing by spraying house with primer, and putting scrubber/air cleaner/HVAC in the house and then wanting to do the test right away. Fortunately I called some companies who do testing and they told me what he was trying to pull. FALSIFIED MOLD TESTING (their report said no mold and the company we hired did the SAME test and found TOXIC levels of mold) which would have put anyone living in the house at risk and cause us serious legal ramifications. Arnie kept telling us there was no mold in the house even though my nose was burning, he kept blowing us off. Said what they were spraying (product) in home would prevent mold but never provided material safety data sheet and applied products on wet wood which is a big no no according to label directions. Left moldy items in home for over a month. Did not seal off and contain other areas - as a result entire house now affected. So much more.
