Disappointed. Needed to take a cab to get back and pick up my car from the mechanic. It was just over a mile from the house, but he ended up taking the long way. He seemed irritated when I asked him where he was going. I don't understand why he drove like a mad man. They get paid by distance. I thought we were all gonna die when he approached the light at roof in Hot Springs but he just crossed the double yellow, went through the quick stop parking lot and pulled out on Hot Springs. My son and his friend needed a ride home and my wife had the car, my daughter had the other car. My foot kid started talking some nonsense about "he don't want to get trafficked" lol! Nobody is gonna kidnap you my son, first- you got me by 50lbs, and you're a head taller than me, Second- nobody wants the work of feeding a teenager of your size my lil dude. Well, the driver(Janz) picks him up, and boom, brings them straight to me, no extra turns, no bs, he was cool and calm, and my little (lol) tax deduction didn't bother him in the least. They didn't tell me they charged almost 50% credit card fee!!! I called in advance to check price and was told $7.50. Nothing about their massive card fee! I was at the laundry and had plenty of cash, duh! But innocently, I put in my card and added a tip and the charges came up...$6.65 for ride, nice. But hey wait...what is this $3.30?!?!?! Charging a credit card fee nowadays is just wrong! And without saying anything! And...50%?!?!?! I had cash!!! It's not like they don't have a tablet glaring right in your face! While my car is in garage, I thought I could depend on cab company. Called day before and talked to DeeAnn who was decent on phone, but sounded new to job. Made appointment for next day, giving location, time, my name and phone number, OK. Next day called DeeAnn again 30 mins. before appointed time; she yelled, "no cabs available", and said I had not made appointment. I persisted because really needed cab. She calmed down a little and said cab would be here momentarily (hmm, where did it come from since there were, "no cabs available"). Capital cab used to be super cool when it came to calling a cab. Being able to speak to an actual cab dispatcher was great. And actually communicative, now its more complicated with the automatic voice thing. She don't listen or catch correct detail and is way too slow. If I could put zero stars I would. On two different occasions the person answering the phone has been completely unprofessional. The first time I got asked if I could be put on hold and after I said yes I got put on eternal hold. Judging by the sound of her voice she could be a high school student, with that being said, I think she was more interested in talking to her friends that drumming up business. After I hung up and tried back after the eternal hold the girl just wouldn't pick up. Second time - the same thing happened only this time she had the check on something to answer my question. Used to rely on them regularly for rides to my job when my car was broken down and I was saving up for a new one. Nice drivers, good receptionists and reasonable prices, but wildly inaccurate and unpredictable wait times. I'd be dropped off late despite me telling them repeatedly that I'd be going to work and would be penalized for tardiness. So I figured, maybe I just need to call them even earlier. Went from calling an hour ahead, to two hours, to three hours, and still usually ended up waiting up to half or nearly that entire buffer time despite being told it would be there much sooner. I'd frequently be told that my cab was only twenty minutes away (I live very close to their main office), only to wait an hour or more for them to tell me I'm "still on the wait list" - and this was after they were made aware that I was going to my job and knew full well what time I needed to be there by. Unfortunately, I can no longer rely on this service to get me where I need to be on time. Which sucks, cuz the people were very kind, but the communication/time management greatly interfered with my job performance. And since I currently have no other means of transportation, I'll have to start walking to my job now to avoid getting into any more trouble with them. Can't say I'd recommend this place if you NEED to be somewhere, regadess of how early you plan ahead. :( read more

I've been driving with Capitol Cab for 2 years on medicaid. There are times when I needed rides 6 days a week, 3 times a week or weekly. But I have used them for 2 years at least every week. They have been nothing but amazing to me. They have never let me down once. Monica, the dispatcher is incredibly hard working. She does her best to get to everybody that needs a ride and she's very reliable and HONEST. Donna, the night dispatcher is very reliable and just very friendly. She also has never let me down. The cabbies are just the nicest people and most reliable people. Dee, Barbara, Glenn, Mike G, Mike D, Gary, Louis, I adore them all. I consider them friends. They've been with me through a lot of illness and the passing of loved ones. Some even offering to help me in times of need. They're doing their best and with the pandemic it's been hard to keep people employed. But there are some long time faithfuls but it's not enough to meet the needs of a city as large as Carson. But it's not for lack of trying. read more

If you're in a hurry, expect to be late. The phone wait times can last as long as 45-minutes before someone picks up to help you. After you've booked a ride, you could be standing around waiting for more than 2-hours before a cab shows up. Most recently, I waited well over 2-hours outside Smith's, only to hit up a friend coming out of the store to give me a lift home. To make matters worse, the credit/debit card readers in half their cabs don't work: Cash Only! A real problem for those who don't carry cash. Also, every cab I've been in has had the "check engine" light (or other dashboard warning) glowing brightly, which doesn't instill great confidence in the passengers. Don't get me wrong... the drivers and dispatchers are great people and they take good care of you as a passenger. It's a shame there isn't a secondary cab company in Carson City to help pick up the slack during busy times. Cabs from Tahoe and Reno would be helpful in eliminating the horrendous wait times, as would someone whose sole job was to be on the phone dealing with people calling in for rides (right now, the phone dispatchers also deal with shift changes and many other distractions that keep people waiting on "hold" forever). I've spoken to others who rely on Capitol Cab, as I do, and they don't speak highly of the service. Hey, Capitol Cab, it's time to get your act together! read more

Customer service is absolutely horrible! I work at a hotel so i have to call for my guests often. One incident I was on hold for multiple minutes, once off hold the lady hung up on me mid- sentence as i was asking a question.. Extremely unprofessional and just plain rude! Their policies are not consistent. I've had a handicapped guest who was picked up more than 3 times! be told that they can't give her a ride anymore. Very confusing to the guest as well as myself as they had done it before many times. I've also had to get rides to work for myself and each time was late by 30 min to an hour. Now for the Drivers.. One particular man driving seemed to be on drugs-couldn't stay focused on the road, VERY fidgety, kept asking whats this- whats that as we drove past it, swerving throughout the lanes, almost hit a road divider and swerve was so hard my head hit the window! I work for a doctor's office. I had a patient ask me to call and verify her pickup. It was 2:54pm and the man who answered said yes, she was scheduled for pickup at 3:00pm. She went outside to wait. At 3:20pm I called to find out about her pickup. I was put immediately on hold. After 6 minutes on hold, I hung up and called back. Immediately on hold. This happened 5 times before someone finally took my call (3:32pm). I asked about her pickup. She said it was still showing as dispatched. That it was shift change and she didn't know what all was going on. So I asked how much longer before she was picked up. She replied 30-40 minutes at least. Patient called her daughter, she picked her up at 3:47pm. When I left at 5:00pm, no one had come by. read more

I've been using this Cab company since 2006 when we moved here in the beginning this company's customer service was amazing and the drivers were great very personable. But I would have to say in the last year especially the last three months their customer service has gone downhill there are no drivers they say they're going to be there and then they don't show up they don't even have the courtesy to call you to let you know they are behind. I called for a cab today, they passed my house and then called me to tell me that my address does not exist. I assured the woman that the address Did in Fact exist, the house was there for 30 years and I had I fact lived there for over 20 years. The driver told me there was no such address, and the. Said do you want a ride or not? Forget it, FUCK YOU!!! Now I can cuss as well as the next person but I think saying FUCK YOU to a customer that you cannot serve because you cannot find the address (it is on the house and painted on the curb) Perhaps a customer based business may not be for you. Doesn't tell you this upfront, then takes you to the wrong address and back to your original location because they don't want to drive the 15 minutes to your actual location.
